Tom, the idea you had to show us what not to do was quite beneficial to me. Very good teaching technique!
    Thank you,

Thanks again for sharing Tom! My 7 year old grandson is really enjoying working on his first decoy. I helped him set the eyes and attach the head on his Bufflehead this weekend. He snuck it home with some sandpaper so he could work on it during his nap/ quite time.🤫

Great information and thank you. I've carved and painted for several years and never like my painting results so I am finding stealing your approach is helping me dread painting less. I'll definitely be purchasing videos and the information and delivery is great. You're really helping me enjoy my hobby more.

God I hated the painting classes back at school and the painting part is not at all my favourite although I like it a lot when it’s finally coming together and looking like a bird. Wish I had a teacher like you back then, I learn a lot from each video, thank you TC. 🙏🏻

I have always purchased small brushes for line work, so seeing the #4 keep a paint load and perform better was a great tip!
    Great lesson video!!!

Thks Tom Very Helpful One question. Do you do washes when detail is near completed, if you do what is the best way. Thks again

Good morning Ken. I normally do washes before details but also do them after if I need to tone something down or adjust the color a bit. My best advice would be to give any detail you are washing OVER time to dry so you don’t remove the detail with a watery wash over it. I normally start washes with a very thin mixture and very little pigment. You can increase the pigment gradually by adding layers. if you start with too much pigment it’s hard to back it off if the wash has gone on too heavy. Hope that helps.
