    A soft drink machine is regulated so that it discharges an average of 750 milliliters per bottle. the amount of drink is normally distributed with a standard deviation of 30 milliliters. a total of 10000 bottles are filled in a day. bottles containing the lowest 10 % of the fill are sent for refilling the next day. other bottles are sent for packaging at the end of the day. what is the minimum amount of fill that guarantees the packaging of the bottles at the end of the day? can you help me this question

    Hi sir. What can we conclude from this hypothesis results using both Beta Value and Pearson Correlation?
    Below are the values for each variables :
    1) there is a positive relationship between salary and employee retention.
    Beta Value : -.0379 and Pearson Correlation value : -0.289
    2) there is a positive relationship between communication and employee retention. Beta Value: -0.159 and Pearson Correlation: 0.110
    3) there is a no positive relationship between job satisfaction and employee retention. Beta Value: -0.115 and Pearson Correlation: -0.136

    • @dmcguckian

      You need to integrate the function between the two points bounding your region. If you took Calculus, integration was covered there, but the normal function was not covered there.

    Thanks for the video! I am working now on an assignment and got a z-score higher than 4, what should I do?

    • @dmcguckian
      @dmcguckian  2 роки тому +1

      It depends on what the problem is asking you to find; however, any z score higher than 4.00 is going to have very little area in the tail beyond that z score. You can therefore safely assume p(z>4.00) is approximately zero. Of course, it won’t be virtually zero until you are looking for something like P(z > 7.00), but the value is likely 0 if rounded to four decimal places.

    • @dmcguckian
      @dmcguckian  2 роки тому

      Hi Matthew, there are many versions of the z table. You have to look at the diagram at the top of the table to see how it works. Some tables give tail areas. Some of the tables read from the z score all the way to negative infinity, and there are at least three other versions of the table.

    A very short explanation of the meaning of confidence level and if the Za/2 correspond to such level you are obtaining from z-table could improve your explanation. Since I had to make sure of that I had to go to another video just a few seconds more explanatory for those like me who just need to refresh something learned many may gsads ago.

    • @dmcguckian
      @dmcguckian  3 роки тому

      I fully understand. These videos are part of a large free course at my website (statsprofessor.com) The videos are organized by chapter and section. They also are accompanied by a set of course notes that explain the meaning of confidence level and the reason we need these critical values. That site and the notes/homework/sample exams are what I use to teach my university courses, so they aren't meant to appear in isolation without all of the other related materials/videos.
