I just found your channel today! It’s so refreshing to see an entire video devoted to jungle cacti…. These are in my top 3 of houseplants and I’m always on the lookout for ones I don’t own. Keep up the great content! 🙂☺️

Thanks for watching! Links to featured plants are in the description! I've tried to link to all of the original plant listings/sellers I purchased from, with the exception of one (which is noted alongside that link).

Your rhipsalis ewaldiana is very much like my rhipsalis sulcata. It looks very very similar when it’s growing all branches out like yours. And it’s the most forgiving too :)

Yes! I love my sulcata as well! Super forgiving!

I only have the fern leaf cactus but I’d like to get a few more. I’m so surprised how pleasant the fruit tasted.

It was surprisingly bland! But sweet!

Hi there Leafy geek, just wondering what grow light you use, you said the one in your living room is powerfull

Hi there! I use quite a variety of lights, depending on my setups in each of my spaces. For the lower light living room, I opted for a more powerful light that would also have a nice aesthetic, that I could essentially use dual purpose as a) a grow light to take care of plants on my interior walls, and b) a functional light for my home that wouldn’t be too jarring on the eyes. For those purposes, I opted to invest in a Soltech Solutions track light. But I do use lower cost LED grow lights in other rooms on my home.

Hi, I think your horrida is a pilocarpa, horrida is fatter (as large as my pinky) and more spiny than hairy. Also molecular and genetic phylogeny have difinitly moved Chrysocardium to Epiphyllum ;) it was sometimes sometimes moved to Selenicereus due to the spines on the fruits but it's not relevant anymore.

Hello! Interesting thoughts! 🙂 I am still leaning toward baccifera horrida, since the seller I purchased from is quite reputable with their IDs, and I do also have a pilocarpa. But appreciate your perspective!

Happy to! I've put links to the plants featured in this video in the description... I'd say the bulk of my larger collection is pretty equally distributed among Josh's Frogs, Pepper's Greenhouse, and Etsy. I have gotten a few from Steve's Leaves and Gabriella Plants when they've had them in stock, as well as one of my local nurseries here in Minnesota.

Hello there! If you can get them in an east window that’s ideal, or just a little set back from a south window is prime. If you keep them in the interior of your home away from windows, I’d highly recommend a grow light. Mine are all currently in a north facing window with grow lights I keep on to supplement their light needs (~8 hours in summer, 12-14 hours now that it’s winter).

Hi, can you recommend a good grow light?

I use a few different brands that kind of run the full spectrum of pricing. I love Aspect grow lights from Soltech Solutions but I definitely understand those are an investment. I also use those GE grow bulbs you can find at Target (as well as a few brands that fall somewhere in between, price wise). I can post links in the description to the grow lights I use around my house.
