I’m looking up your IKEA plant shelf and lighting system . It’s exactly what I need as winter is approaching . And I noticed that you you have your rhipsalis in those glass vases , and they’re doing well . I can see how this would work really well.
@@ShyDog827 Hi there. The lights are amazing my plants love them. And the glass vessels are working well as I can look at a glance to see who needs water and if the roots are looking healthy. Glad you enjoyed the video 🪴💚✨
I found a rhapsalis Christmas cactus at Home Depot 8” for $20 US. It had a lot of broken branches but it’s hanging with a Barrina grow light and it’s growing so fast. I only let it dry out the first inch and I water it. It’s in original soil. Will eventually take cuttings and put in Pon for another plant
I think I’ll try my rhipsallis in no drainage too, I have a problem with over/under watering & no drainage for other plants has been working. I wouldn’t think the desert mix would be right for the jungle plants…I’m going to get that too! They stock it in our dobbies at the min xx thanks for the tips! Xx
Glad you enjoyed the video and good luck with your Rhipsalis 🧚🏽 I have found no drainage works well especially with semi hydro or Desert Mix. Let me know how you get on 🪴💚✨
Hi! New subscriber here. Love your plant collections. Started to back watch your videos. I will try to place my rhipsalis & holiday cacti in a vessel.😊😊😊
I’ve rotted 3 fishbone cactus & 4 thanksgiving cactus now, I have had 99% failure rate on propping them too….i have just put both in semi hydro no drainage & seems ok…roots starting so fingers crossed!
Vanessa, How do you best prop the paradoxa minor. I bought a big hanging pot of it a few months ago and my cat has attacked it several times (he likes munching on it) and has pulled it out the pot a few times (despite being on a shelf). It has shocked and the roots rotted, I settled it back in and he did it again (pulled it off a higher spot ) and I lost quite a few strands to breakage. Ive propped in water but they don’t take well when popped back into the pot, they rot so easily. Any tips pls, I dont want to lose this plant as she is 1 of my favourites!
Shame hun sounds like a battle. I’ve never propagated in water. I cut at least 2 to 3cm below an aerial root then let it callus for a week then pot straight into soil. Give a light water and set in a sunny spot. But in your case since you prop in water why not try pon… Not sure how to stop your cat from playing with it tho. Good luck 🪴💚✨
@@alwaysthewildones I don’t have any aerial roots on my plant? I don’t necessarily just prop in water, I will try any prop method. I have tried just putting it straight into the soil after callousing over but they have all rotted. I’m afraid I’m going to lose my plant, I’ve probably lost half so far 😢
Hi Vanessa. New fan here . I loved your plants! In particular the rhipsalis paradoxa minor that I can't find anywhere! Would tou sell cuttings or share the shop you got it from? Today I bought my first rhipsalis, the paradoxa, but the bigger one. I would love to get the rhipsalis paradoxa minor!
I wouldn’t recommend a monkey tail cactus for indoors. If you notice, all the images of them are outdoors. when grown indoors, they just get skinny, spindly growth.
Oups I already have one it was a gift from a subscriber 🧚🏾♂️I have it directly under a skylight so fingers crossed 🤞🏾 Hopefully it will be happy there basking in sunshine ☀️

@@Purrs_and_plants Have you tried a humidity box to instigate root growth ?
@@alwaysthewildones yes I am trying that now actually. Fingers crossed 🤞
