Simplest: They continue to manufacture a product there is no demand for.
Simple: They are trying to sell an ideology, rather than a story.
It's hard to characterize it as simple incompetence with all the lying, _consistent_ doubling down, and illegal hiring practices. A propagandist cannot abide a story which does not preach their message. Everything must serve the cause.

All Walt Disney wanted was to entertain people. He wanted to give families a fun, unique experience they couldn't find somewhere else, and took a lot of ambitious risks making things like the original Snow White movie, the first Disneyland.... even getting in to animation, period.
If he could see what they've done to his creations, and how badly they've alienated people, and how badly they've squandered all the good will they had built up with people, he'd be ashamed of this company.
The Snow White with Brett Cooper was beautiful, well done and worth watching.
Disney management should watch it and see what a real movie is.

These big budget train wrecks, have large above the line fees. This is where producers get paid so its really big money. They don't give a shit how bad a film is, they get paid upfront anyway. As having pale, white skin, with blue eyes and long, thick hair (the color was not described) the animated version was acceptable. The live action version was a travesty.

Nothing in the pipeline, save Deadpool 2024, have a chance of bringing in more money than they cost to develop, produce and market.
Iger would save money by shuttering ALL current Disney, Pixar, Lucas Films and Marvel, film productions and upcoming productions meant for direct release on Disney+.
Spend the rest of the year holding daily meetings reviewing regular polling of public sentiment regarding honest reviews of what people want to see/watch and how they feel about projects being developed or in the pipeline.
Then start cutting away at the undesired projects and hire staff who know the material and what they are doing, while focusing efforts on launching projects wide appeal. OMG! It'd be revolutionary for them to use common sense, making money again by pleasing the consumer.
