Princess Leia's ''metal bikini'' was "out of this world", but it wasn't sexual for a kid to see her wearing it. Leia's chained bikini was seen as her harness, being the "pet" of Jabba the Hut. There was no nudity or sexual tension implied.
Padme's ''dominatrix'' outfit wasn't sexual for kids to see either, it was just a strange and outlandish outfit they'd wear on another planet.

Because at the cinema I was listening to the amazing story, marvelling at the sets and costumes, laughing, clapping, cheering, and falling in love with Harrison Ford and Chewbacca and the Millennium Falcon and R2D2 like everyone else. It was so magical. I was transported to a place with an incredible experience that I will never forget. That's what fans want. Why can't you see that?

I have to say that as a former Star Wars lover, I am sooooo glad to see the united front taken by virtually all UA-camrs and people who are reporting on this show. Disney, not its writers, producers or actors are getting away with the misogyny/racist/toxic fan/women hating card. The show is HORRIBLE. The writing, the pacing, the lore breaking - everything. In watching the show, I don’t say: where are the white/straight men. I say: why does the main character jump back and forth every episode on their allegiances? Why was there no Wookie Jedi battle on screen? How did a triangle book catch a rock mountain on fire in 30 seconds and kill everyone? How does a seasoned Jedi not sense he has the wrong apprentice with him over the course of an episode? Why is there a high school musical chant in the middle of episode 3? Notice I didn’t mention a woman once? I don’t care. People see this as a bad bad bad show. All the Disney spin and actor rage is not going to move the goalpost to this being a polarizing racial and sexist debate. They just happened to commandeer the helm of the most successful science fiction franchises in history to run aground. That’s why the backlash is so loud and genuine. Being an 80's kid I remember my parents taking us to Star Wars and then waiting in line at the theater for Empire Strikes Back. I bought all the Star Wars books, and back when there were book stores, would spend hours sitting at the book rack reading. My school friends were fellow "nerds" and we would spend hours talking about lore and trying to guess what was next. We were consistently teased by other kids (especially girls) about our interests. For the Director and Actress to come out and say this show is Star Wars by women for women, then these two have no clue who made Star Wars what it is. Yes, there our women Star Wars fans but when I talk to some of them, they could care less about women being the main character. There is a reason "Magic Mike" and the "Step Up" series have done well and it is because they play to what the majority of women want. Most women are not into action films, so they could care less about light saber fights. Disney just wasted alot of money on this.

I just love the "Strong woman" cry... Who was Leia? What was Leia? If that was not a strong female character, I never seen one. Not only was it a very strong female lead she was allso loved by fans. Carrie was THE female in SW. Then we had Natalie as Padmé. These new characters from Rey to what ever this is in the Acolyte is not strong, it's ridiculous side kick if anything compared to what Star Wars was and had. Disney F**ked it up! Lashing out against the "paying" costumer, the fans is like throwing them selves on the floor wiggeling and kicking like a child who did not get the candy.
What I really hate is that Rey could've been a great female lead. The concept for her character was interesting, but the writing/acting was just terrible.

Leia was the gold standard for strong women. Bossed tough guy Han around, mentored Luke, didn't crack under Empire interrogation, used blasters, became leader of Rebel Alliance.... And Padme was right up there too.

According to some experts the light sabre fight was up to standards with previous Star Wars fights. But it made no sense to have the least experienced there take on such a proven lethal enemy. To me, it looked like a bunch of kids horsing around in the dark with toy light sabres their parents just bought from a street vendor. I could not tell what was going on.

Last time I saw it, GoT wasn't a kids show on any way, featuring hate, violence, grape and lots of nudity.
It's a shame that we live in a world in which no one can simply produce a good story w/out having a "hidden agenda" or "subliminal message" strapped to it.
Female SW characters such as Leia Organa, Ahsoka Tano, Barriss Offee, Padmé Amidala, Hera Syndulla and Sabine Wren IMO are all good female characters that were well written into the franchise for the the sole purpose of telling a good story whether it was the live action or animated series.
When folks such as Kennedy come in forcing their views, opinions and agendas into (see quoted context earlier) is what offends many people. Furthermore, brining on directors and producers that already had a negative reputation of drama and baggage into a project immediately puts a bad taste in the minds of many who ponder the question "what's she up to this time" as many perceive that this is her way of bringing down the franchise from the inside due to the personal conflicts she's had with other internal figureheads on her level and above.
If those with the ability to create these projects and bring them into fruition would simply go back to the mindset that George Lucas envisioned when he originally did Star Wars A New Hope then perhaps everyone (including fans) would enjoy the STORY and not the AGENDA or HIDDEN MESSAGE that's being shared.

George Lucas is generally recognized as one of the more mundane story writers to ever have a film on the big screen. Lucasfilm is no different. Lame plots, screenwriting, and direction are the norm.

This is NOT "written by women for women." This is written by a malignant narcissist for herself. THAT'S why it resonates with so few people, and the wooden, unconvincing acting by the lead doesn't help either. The only thing that has gotten me the least bit invested is Lee Jung-jae's charismatic performance's ability to rises above the material he's been given. Otherwise, this wouldn't even be worth following for laughs at how bad it is.
It's a fanfic to be sure, the same happened with the most recent doctor who series, they gave someone money to produce a fanfic
This is just my simple thoughts. I don't care whether it's a Strong female or male character. It comes down to the acting and the story line. Just give me something well written.
Crazy idea but maybe instead of insulting fanbase you should focus on good storytelling and giving the fans something that they enjoy. If your show is failing because men hate strong female characters then please explain why Alien movies were so successful, Resident Evil movies, Hunger Games. And before you say it’s just Star Wars fans then why wasn’t Natalie Portman harassed for playing Amidala.
That's the real issue. This stuff is just bad. Any agenda or pandering is crappy and forced. Good entertainment is good. It reaches people deeper. A good Western is good beyond a Western stigma. A bad Western is bad and a Western. Why do they make crap and push agendas.. at least make good shows at the core dam.

If this actress is unwilling to serve the customers, then she is also unwilling to sell product. No sales, no job, and imagining she is morally superior to the customers doesn't change that.
