  • With just days before graduation, Chantilly Academy Engineering seniors rushed to finalize an ambitious project: a mobile, customizable medical bed for Liam, an eighth grader with Nemaline myopathy. Collaborating with the Physical and Occupational Therapy students, they designed a bed that accommodates Liam’s medical needs and personal style. This innovative project, supported by a $2,000 Educate Fairfax grant, showcased the students' skills in communication, collaboration, and creative problem-solving. Their efforts not only provided Liam with a more comfortable way to attend classes but also inspired potential career paths and a deeper understanding of interdisciplinary teamwork.
