When you say there are missing guy-outs points, do you mean they're suppose to be there or you would like them there? In other words, did the company forget to install them at those locations? Also, the stove jack is purposely left uncut so that you can cut it out the size of your chimney. Not everyone has the same size chimney and stove. OneTigris allows for you to simply use a jackknife, or other cutting tool, to easily cut an X for the opening in the field. You can cut a circle if you like, but an X is easier and best for preventing raindrops/snow and other debris from entering the tent during chimney use. In fact, most hot tenters prefer this option as the X (if cut correctly) creates a small flap or V on top to help prevent the chimney from making contact with the stove jack flap that's rolled up.
Also forgot to mention that I totally agree with you on the number of guy-outs, way too many. BUT, I'm working on encouraging OneTigris to develop a lightweight internal frame that would greatly reduce the number of stakes and guy lines. This would work well for both hammock and ground sleep systems
Hi thanks, no its physically missing some guy out points. It's since Bern returned and the manufacturer has confirmed it was faulty. The stove jack also. The heat proof pad was completely missing and only had the nylon. Cutting the nylon wouldn't have solved the issue. Thanks for the comments though
Yes, it's a big shelter and therefore has a lot of loose material. It needs those guys to control it in any wind. I think it's a difficult one to overcome.
@@wildcampingkev Ah ok, they were missing. Thanks for clearing that up, Kevin. Also, I was referring to the stove jack (grey fire proof cover) when describing the X cut. I didn't realize that was missing too. Must of been a Friday like you said..lol
I bought one of these tents and absolutely love it . I have 1 problem with it, I used it in the spring, and I found it has a lot of condensation. Great tent otherwise. I plan on using it on a canoe trip in May. Wonderful video. I am going to subscribe . I really appreciate all you do to inform us on camping equipment and how to use it with easy to follow instructions. Thank you for the time you take out of your life to bring us this type of content. I would like a spoon, thank you
Im afraid I didn't record it with the side up.. I ended up returning it due to the faults and didn't buy another. Great idea and probably very useful. But here in the UK we have to be stealthy, this is just too big to carry around and set up.
To be clear, to be in the mix for the spoon put Kev loves and ethical company + your comment. In two weeks I'll pick a winner of the spoon who I'll message. Thank you beautiful bunch 😘
Very true! This location is close to my home so I knew I wasnt more than a short car ride home. The missing stove jack could have been a real problem for someone in tough conditions though! Where are you based?
Uri Geller loves an ethical company when snapping not bending spoons 😂 Pm for my address 👍🏻👍🏻 Not to shabby mr Brown keep the vids coming! New tent looks good just not sure I would want to bed down on the forest floor! Would my pop up fit in there?

@@jerryhallman1742 no, I'll check them out.
Looks fun.
The Tegimen has two stove jacks, the rocdomus only has one. As per their website specs.
Would love to see the rocdomus set up with side staked out /open side

Could you fit two hammocks in there?
Love the woolen anorak; where can I purchase?
HI, ITS A SWANDRI Original Bush shirt. Its super warm, I love it for winter nights.
I have a hand carved wooden spoon giveaway! Only used twice folks!
I love solo camping.
Well you're in the right place!
Always better to test kit before you use it in the field - especially in adverse conditions 👍 atb Andy

@@wildcampingkev Sensible! I'm Southwest and Wales 👍
not sure what 'ethical company' means, no riff raff maybe, although I reckon 'kev loves' the riff raff!
They're carbon neutral and plant a tree for every beer brought. That's what I mean by an ethical company.
