I like the design of the bike and think they are spot on in rider placement on the bike. That battery access cover will be a casualty to some rocks, logs, or anything else you try to jib over when out on a ride. Overall, the bike is a step in the right direction even with its design flaw.
Hey Ron! Luckily Husqvarna thought about integrating a bash guard into the battery cover, so it should be able to suffer a good battering. We agree though, the bike looks great!👍
@@embn I think that "bashguard" will withstand nothing... looks like is made in plastic and there only a bolt and a hinge that keeps the things in place, bashing that on a rock or a log certainly will break it, looks replaceable but i don't think is the right way to place a battery cover... the solution used by Cannondale on the new moterra is all the way better.

The access to the motor under the bb is all the way too exposed to rocks, there's only a hinge that keeps closed the battery van, there's even a bolt but I don't think is enough to keep the battery safe.
I think the battery access is a major design flaw and it will be very vulnerable to rocks and logs especially step downs. Do the designers not take this into consideration? You'd also have to lift the bike to change the battery when out on the trails. And you'd have to cover the thumbscrew with duck tape on every ride to stop it getting clogged with crud . Nice looking bike though.
Husky have changed that motor orientation just so they can get a 720 wt battery in the frame. This is then spun as marketing and a better design. That motor and cradle has a higher tilt on it and has raised the centre of gravity, will be interesting to see how it rides.
I find it interesting that you can get some of their motorcycles cheaper than their bicycles, it's crazy when you compare them, and there must be more development costs with a motorcycle compared to a bicycle. I think these motorcycle companies have realised there's bigger profits in bicycles.
Nice deep dive. Most important words [sic] “it’s all about the climb - it’s fun” I’ve watched my SL friends struggle on climbs, they never get that charging uphill feeling. No surprise that Husky understands it. More power = more fun. Interesting frame design, great for those who enjoy that aspect
An ebike is to get you up as many times as it can as quickly as you want too, so you can do more downs period, it's still a mountain bike and the fun is going down.
I think it’s a beautiful bike but I wish they would go with a combined motor and gearbox unit with a belt drive. I think that’s the future of electric mountain biking and I’m going to hold off and wait for something like that. Similar to what the orange bicycle company has brought out this year… i’m wondering if the intra drive could fit in this frame with the belt?
Dont talk pish its a restyled indian made ktm and the seats worse then the ktm, take it you havent tried to adjust chain tension yet ?! there was a design for adjuster slider rails decades ago that work fine so no need to make it 100 times worse.
It's visually quite striking. I wouldn't call it "very unique" though because unique means "one of a kind". Things either are or aren't unique, there aren't degrees to it.
Really the best looking eeb. First manufacturer I've heard to emphasize the e-bike's greatest asset - climbing! But, they really need to make the bash guard zone much more robust - it's sticking right out in the rock/log zone
Looks like a great bike from the numbers, but Shimano? What is the reason to pick that over Bosch 2022? Also very strange frame design. I guess it's a great bike after all though.
I've had a couple of different battery placements and the one on this one has to be the dumbest so far. You need to get underneath the bike, which means you need to stand it up on its back wheel to insert or remove the battery. This is just ... how did no one think to themselves "do I REALLY want to do that every single time I'm removing or inserting the battery?" You might argue that it's not a problem in your shop or your garage, but what about being on the road with an extra battery pack? Now you have to turn the damn thing on its head, JUST TO SWAP A BATTERY! It's stupid.

As for the motor on this bike, boring! where is the Sachs RS, if Alex wants to go up hill, give it a real motor.
I don’t see anything about this that suggests a “new era”. Whyte rotated their motors years ago to get a lower centre of gravity and to improve handling.
