Just found your channel, and not only did I note know this was a trilogy, I never knew there was a third part to El Paso. And speaking of Marty Robbins, you need to listen to Mr. Shorty, one of my favorites of his

Alright, now that you've finished with Big John, try PT 109 by Jimmy Dean. It's a true story about John Kennedy during WWII. And as a bonus, you'll get the inside joke at the end of the song. Love your channel, guys!

The marble was there from song 1 when the miners thought he was dead. Song 2 he either wasn't really dead or she really did bring him back to life. In song 3 little John is now a grown man but apparently was never told by big john the story of song one that the old miner tells him. Presumably by now big john has passed which is why little john has his hat in his hand. To have over 100 grandchildren he had to live after song 2 I think. Or he and queen started real young 😂

I think part 3 takes place after the 1st song and when Little John find his father's stone he goes back to New Orleans and tells his Mom which starts the Cajun Queen

  • @p.c.windhamparanormalroman4339

I always figured that Little Bitty Big John should be played second and that Little Bitty Big John went back and told his mother he had found his dad and then she came back and retrieved him.

That image in the video of Jimmy and Jim Henson and Rolf the Dog exists because Jimmy Dean had a variety show long ago and Rolf the Dog was a cast member. I believe Rolf was actually the first Muppet.

Until your reactions today I never even knew there were more songs in the saga of Big John. I think maybe you're right with your theory. Big John dies a hero in song 1. The Cajun Queen briefly mentioned in song 1 comes to collect John's spirit in song 2 and they go to the other side together. Song 3 has one of Big John's sons (the one who maybe resembles Big John the most) seeking to meet the father who he never knew who disappeared years before. Maybe he never knew his dad died in a mining accident until someone showed him the marker.

  • @PastorOogway

    One theory, my theory
The Cajan Queen came to get him down in the mine and she died down there with him.

I always thought something like that too like because she was murdered by the Cajun dude that's why Big Bad John killed Louisiana man with one hit so when he died in the mine it's like her soul was reunited with his soull but that's just my best estimation🤷🏻‍♀️😊🥰💖💖💖❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥

  • @wearinganapron

It couldn't have been the ghost of the Cajun Queen, merely taking Big John's spirit, or else there would not be 110 grandchildren! But ponder this: maybe Little Bitty Big John was actually meant to come BEFORE the Cajun Queen song. Maybe she was a widow raising Little bitty, unsure where her dead husband lay. Little Bitty went to the mine and found him, and then went home and told his Cajun Queen mother, who then went to the mine and raised Big John from the dead. Even if they were published in the order you have played them, they might have been written out of order.

My dad had a jukebox with all the major hits from 40s-60s and heard all these. He also made sure the car radio was tuned to the oldies station. As a child, I thought Big John was the same as the Folk tale of John Henry.

Actually, I think the chronological order of the songs is 1,3,2. He made them in 1,2,3. I think They had Little Bitty Big John. Big John had the fight, killed the man. Left New Orleans, the events of the first song happened. Litty Bitty Big John grew up, went to the town where Big John died. Went back to New Orleans and told the Cajun Queen his mom. The Cajun Queen goes and raises him from the dead with Voodoo.

IS there another sort of version to this...song/story...."n October 1961, Dottie West recorded a sequel called "My Big John". This song is told from the point of view of the "Cajun Queen" that drove John away - her search for him, then discovering about his death." In between the 1st and 2nd song.

I think you got it T. His woman could have been a spirit or some kinda voodoo priestess. Also, maybe the grave was empty? And John WAS brought back to life in the mine. This was fun.

I always thought they left the mining town went back to NOLA and had their kids. His son just came back to see the mine where a woman's love helped bring his dad back so the boy could be alive. Kinda like hearing stories of where your parents went to school and you go there to picture where they took place. Or Big John accidentally murdered his Cajun Queen when she tried to stop John from fighting over her. In the OG song the rumor was he killed a man over his woman but what if he killed the guy but the guy killed her as they were fighting.

  • @batmanbatman5027

Unless he just went too look at the place Big John come out of and then that would be more like a memorial than a grave since he left it in the 2 song it did say he had a 110 grand children it said and they were really old at the end so for them too have grand children at all while they were that old they had too be alive They call me Big John too so it sounds too me like them being alive is a better version nott only that what I said does make more sense when you look at it for what it is.

  • @jeffreysmall2397
    @jeffreysmall2397 2 роки тому

perhaps they are out of order maybe part 3 is actually part 2 and the boy went to tell his momma the Cajun queen he was dead and she came to collect him and raise him because if it were a soul collection howbcould they have been able to spawn 110 grand kids if he was a spirit?

I think everyone liked big John so he decided to try an end to the story.
I was almost wondering if the 3rd would have come before the 2nd... and don't forget the first song and the second never said that was John's woman. She came to get him... as it usually happens. I think John ran off on that Cajun queen but she chased him down and got him no matter what....

Nah . . . nobody knew how big the original was going to be; so Shel wrote the sequel and nobody ever dreamed that a sequel would do so much; so there had to be a third song - in spite of the fact that The Cajun Queen had "painted them in a corner". You guys are trying to inject reason, logic and common sense into a situation that just grew out of control.
