I just stumbled upon your channel and let me tell you as a senior in college it’s refreshing to see someone around my age starting their professional journey. I’m so excited for you!! I send all positive love & energy your way during all your journeys 🤗🤍❤️
I relate with you on this so much!! Thank you so much for sharing. It definitely helps me feel proud of myself and celebrate my achievements! I too just got hired at a law firm since graduating college! Thank you again for sharing!
I am so glad you made this. I am planning to start an entry level legal assistant job next week. I am feeling really nervous. As you stated, can I handle it? Will I be accepted? Thank you. God bless you.
I just found your channel and girl you're so underrated, absolutely love your content. I immediately subscribed and can't wait to watch your other videos
I just got done with my interview with a friend that’s a attorney and I never worked in this but I willing and open to work in new things and it’s exciting and now I’m so interested. I’m hopeful I do get hired
I’m consuming all of your content! I start my legal assistant job on Monday, I’ve worked in admin before at another firm but I’m still so nerve wracked!!!
Your authenticity/vulnerability really helped ground me & get me out of my own head - starting at a new firm this week myself after parting with my last firm (reluctantly but necessary..) ... More excited for this fresh start than anxious/nervous now, tysm
Thank you for sharing video. I got a job as a legal assistant for a personal injury law firm and I am so nervous. I start this Monday. So I hope I am able to handle it. I look forward to my new journey.
Hey, I was just wondering how you got on? Only as I am due to start a new job Monday in the finance department (based in the uk) but I feel so sick and it’s in a bigger establishment than my previous jobs so need loads of training on so many different things. I feel so sick 😭
I applied after college and it was one of the first law firms I interviewed for and who got back to me. The rest is history haha, but I've been there for about 2 years now 🙂
Hi Shantel 👋 I have my Bachelors in Political Science with a minor in Literature & Writing, but I don't believe that was a requirement for this specific job when I applied. I did have some administration experience and some legal experience as a legal intern while I was a student but it was in family law, not employment (where I work in now). This video explains it in more detail and I answer some other commonly asked questions I get as a legal assistant : ) ua-cam.com/video/-t6po098RSg/v-deo.html
I am new to the legal industry I have an interview today. What are some questions I should ask to educate myself on the job? What should I be on the lookout for ? And what advice would you give me ? What are things I should know about ‘billable hours’? Will I most likely be interviewed by the lawyer himself/herself ? Thank you!
Hey Donna, thanks for stopping by!😊 It definitely varies for each person, also which type law you’re are going into (family law, employment, etc.). First, I would recommend do your research on the company you are being interviewed for to get a feel for the company culture and also to be prepared about the company is about. When it comes to questions, I would say ask things that show you are genuinely interested and also don’t be afraid to ask realistic questions like “how many hours will I be asked to work, is there mandated over time?” so you can make an informed decision. In my experience, I was interviewed by the operations director not an attorney, but it could be different for you. The legal field can be overwhelming at first so be easy on yourself and don’t be too hard on yourself if you don’t learn everything over night. Great questions and best of luck!❤️
Thanks for making this video. It was very helpful in understanding what the workload is like, and what is involved. Just for context, what is the qualification to be a Legal Assistant? And which country are you from?
Hi Kaz and hello from the US! I'm glad it was helpful--an update on my legal assistant experience so far will be posted very soon by tomorrow where I also talk more about the role in depth that answers your question about the qualifications : ) In my experience, it depends on the company since it's still an entry level position by most standards.
