BET needs a whole revamping and I am not just talking having original contents that only airs between 8-10pm. Bringing it back to where you had shows like Rap City, 106&Park and The Center that came on diferent hours of the day that you look forward to watch. Even on Saturdays they had the top 25 music count down and sometimes have different celebrities on who talk about their top 25 songs.
Before I go to bed I have one more thing to say Ashley girl...I’ve been watching Jamie Foxx since I was little. Dude is talented as hell! However he really disappointed me tonight. Anita Baker tribute should've been better. I didn't want to see Jamie singing those songs. . He was doing too much. the excitement was NOT there in the crowd. I agree Allen Lewis- There was to much going on-but i did enjoy Anita Baker being there. They had a few good moments-but overall the show was just off.
Oh, and the best part of Jamie's hosting was that message he gave at the very end after the "In Memoriam" about violence and stuff. That actually drew me in and was good. He tried too hard to make funny jokes/point and didn't let things just flow naturally....shit was embarrassing and I expected better from him

You can definitely tell that Ms Deborah Lee is no longer with BET. It looks like she probably arranged everything but it wasn't followed through because of her out of nowhere retirement. The bet awards was boring as hell. No one really stood out. Even the tribute was underwhelming to me. The viewership for this year will be low because I know a lot of people who didn't watch the show tonight & the promo was very sloppy.
The review videos plus comments are more entertaining than the show itself. About 15 mins in I started thinking “I’’m ready for these reviews”...😂 this year was a meessss. A FEW good parts and really a FEW! They definitely need to redeem themselves next year! They need to really pay attention to what people want to see for one! I’ve seen sooo many tweets that had great ideas about how things should go for the show that would have definitely been a good look for the show.
Tika Sumpter was everything in that green dress just beautiful ,and Janelle Monae I liked her performance , and I don't even like her too much , but the two songs were everything!!!!!
There was so much shade in Anita speech that i got. When she said young people tap the veterans on the shoulders what i got was, y'all are horrible and this was a shitshow somebody show these little mf how to perform. I just had a convo about how BET Awards used to be something you had to arrange your whole day around - BACK IN THE DAY! I watched some clips and Jamie was "threatening" people to get up and move smh. The only performance I got something from was Yolanda Adams and Meek Mill's mini stage play. You right, the budget was definitely cut. And you know what, when the biggest stars stop coming, that's when you know it ain't good anymore.

I feel that they don't care about the BET awards anymore. They should just cancel them because this was the worst one yet. 2015 was the last time it was good. The production was cheap, no big name showed up and the performances was lackluster. Jamie did the best he could under the circumstances. It was no promotion of the show. I don't blame big name artists for not attending if this is how the show going to be. Meek, J. Cole and Anita was the best of the night. And that wasn't saying much.

The bet awards was boring as hell. No one really stood out. Even the tribute was underwhelming to me. The viewership for this year will be low because I know a lot of people who didn't watch the show tonight & the promo was very sloppy.
The review videos plus comments are more entertaining than the show itself. About 15 mins in I started thinking “I’’m ready for these reviews”...😂 this year was a meessss. A FEW good parts and really a FEW! They definitely need to redeem themselves next year! They need to really pay attention to what people want to see for one! I’ve seen sooo many tweets that had great ideas about how things should go for the show that would have definitely been a good look for the show.

There was so much shade in Anita speech that i got. When she said young people tap the veterans on the shoulders what i got was, y'all are horrible and this was a shitshow somebody show these little mf how to perform. And like i said, allow the singers to sing, she just said rappers to nice, but we all know there is an imbalance between rappers and singers, so I'm glade she put that out there.

I feel that they don't care about the BET awards anymore. They should just cancel them because this was the worst one yet. 2015 was the last time it was good. The production was cheap, no big name showed up and the performances was lackluster. Jamie did the best he could under the circumstances. It was no promotion of the show. I don't blame big name artists for not attending if this is how the show going to be. Meek, J. Cole and Anita was the best of the night. And that wasn't saying much.
