That crowd actually pissed me off. The amount of people consistently sitting down the entire show especially during the Hip Hop tributes cus it was nothing but LEGENDS & CLASSICS and they sitting there being dry.

I honestly think BET went this direction because of the overwhelming Hip Hop tribute on the Grammys this past year. They did it so well and BET just tried to mimic what the Grammys did and just missed the mark. It was utter foolishness...from the outfits to the performances. 👎🏽

Ive always felt like the BET Awards should showcase more than rap and r&b music. What a great time to highlight great black shows, movies, writers, rock artist, country artist... like we literally get 2 bet hip hop awards every year and i dont understand what the vision is.

BET needs to implement a dress code because some of them were dressed like they were going to club. Every year they have sound issues and they just need to do better. They need to go back to exclusivity because i don’t wanna see these influencers like this. BET awards use to mean something and this year was poorly done. It’s so sad right now.

I’ll speak because i was there for the preshow and the award show. The preshow could’ve been better if they had the sound and mics together(i almost thought them folks was on mute) and there was rumors that they might have to redo some parts 😂 after 5 hrs on my feet, I was over it. Thankfully that didn’t happen, the show was good overall but since I know the behind the scenes work could use adjustments but was happy for the opportunity. Also one of the producers said they didn’t want to take chances ever since Oscar situation/ writers strike. For me, the show went a lot faster than usual but you know I don’t work for bet, I’m just a audience volunteer.

The best thing about the BET Awards is that it brings us together as a culture. It had its moments but I enjoyed the performances. The Dancehall and The 305 Miami set was my favorite. Chile Patti Labelle, bless her heart.

He was like the only good thing that redeemed the show but you can tell alot of the new artists was just stale and alot of the old school music was better but it was like we're stuck in the past.

BET should’ve had a special awards show similar to the Hip Hop awards but titled it: “BET Presents Hip Hop turns 50” or something like that. Keep it a live show w/a red carpet but invite only the who’s who of the Hip Hop/Rap scene. Our Legends, our pioneers. As I watched the show, I was so upset seeing so many ppl sitting down until I realized they were 1.young & 2. Just seat fillers. The actual A-list celebs were all backstage. Having a separate show would’ve been so much better.

To be honest, they should've just had the BET hip-hop awards instead especially since they were celebrating the 50th year of hip-hop. They should've just Tina Turner a shout out and paid beyonce a few million out of Tyler perry bubble bath soap budget and had her create a one and lifetime Tina tuner tribute. And...and...and..🤔 is that the only big things that happened at bet this year?

No matter what people say about the bet awards it still will always be my favorite awards to watch!!!! This year was not my favorite because it was so different from the past but I still enjoyed some of the performances. I wish they could did a better Tina tribute cuz patti could not remember the words!!! Congratulations to busta rhymes he really is a living legend!!! The best thing about the BET Awards is that it brings us together as a culture. It had its moments but I enjoyed the performances. The Dancehall and The 305 Miami set was my favorite. Chile Patti Labelle, bless her heart.

I Watch The Bet awards every year and always have because it’s always been one of my favorite award shows to watch but this year was a mess.Since Tyler now owns Bet I’m hoping next years is way better but there should be rules set into place to where we see more star studded Celebs.
Most of you guys have no idea what you’re talking about because you don’t know the business side or what it takes to produce a show during a writer strike. First off this show was live with no edits. Secondly, a network have to get songs clear before the artist can perform it not as easy as you guys think. It doesn’t matter if the songs is on the artist album or single there are Chanel’s to get it cleared. Thirdly, this year wasn’t necessarily about the biggest artist out (not to mention more than likely they didn’t want to repeat the Grammy’s artist} this year was about going through the 50 years that got hip hop to where it is now. Without those beginning artist hip hop would be nowhere today. These artist gave a great show they don’t owe anyone anything but they bought joy to many people who had nothing better to do than watch it now you guys want to criticize. Let the culture grow and stop the hate!!!

He was like the only good thing that redeemed the show but you can tell alot of the new artists was just stale and alot of the old school music was better but it was like we're stuck in the past.

When I tell you I was thinking who was those ppl in the audience it was wow y’all could have put Boosie girl closer. Some of the random ppl in the audience wasn’t even dressed up! The crowd was so dead and kept putting they phones up like fans it was weird and the camera men should have stopped panning the crowed with all the empty spaces

Trust me you didn’t miss out on anything at all. The crowd was dead, only good thing was busta rhymes getting the lifetime achievement award and hip hop celebrating 50 years. Other than it was garbage. They should just replay all the old bet awards and discontinue the bet awards unless there are major changes made

BET should’ve had a special awards show similar to the Hip Hop awards but titled it: “BET Presents Hip Hop turns 50” or something like that. Keep it a live show w/a red carpet but invite only the who’s who of the Hip Hop/Rap scene. Our Legends, our pioneers.
As I watched the show, I was so upset seeing so many ppl sitting down until I realized they were 1.young & 2. Just seat fillers. The actual A-list celebs were all backstage. Having a separate show would’ve been so much better.
