Gaming conventions Q&A panels are fertile grounds for birth of new living memes. Often times being host of uncomfortable exchanges between panelists and attendees, you've seen it before with the Blizzcon Red Shirt Guy. In 2013, one of these living memes was born at Minecon when SuperKai64 approached the panelists at the event and had a epicly bad pronunciation mistake of the words "Dedicated Ram", saying "Dedotated Wam" Instead. The mistake would in turn make SuperKai a living meme, and today I tell his story.

God wym? That’s always been his stance. I mean yeah he can be immature and crude to an extent especially for comedic purposes, but because of his son Collin he never makes fun of people with issues or disabilities, it’s always been like that.
Woody has a son with special needs so he understands and didn’t want to make a show of superkais speech impediment. Also woody had Tourette’s which allows him to understand more.

I had the pleasure of meeting SuperKai64 at Minecon 2013 when he came to a panel I was giving on Minecraft Music. I believe he asked a great question about Minecraft music parodies, which were huge at the time. Little did we know that we had a legend in our midst!!!
On a serious note. So many people, myself included, are weird and awkward and Minecraft has always been a community for us to be our true selves. This level of internet fame could easily become a downward spiral of bullying and hatred. I hope superkai can look back at this with positivity and I hope that the internet trolls didn't do irreparable damage as they so often can do.

I still to this day as a 24 year old man had no idea that servers needed "dedicated ram". So this kid knew more than me in that regard at the end of the day. Hats off to him.

@@ijabs3425 They do though. It's the amount of ram you assign to your minecraft server, if you ever made a server for Minecraft Java you must be somewhat familiar with this: java -Xmx1024M -Xms1024M. It assigns 1GB of dedicated ram.

I remember watching that clip for the first time, i was 13 back when it happened, as a 13 year old i was making fun of that kid aswell, now im 22 taking this situation all differently, seeing the mom going with her kid to this event, making those matching name plates for both of them, making the effort for her kid, so he can enjoy this event for something he loves, and then seeing he was made into a joke online, this breaks my heart. I made the mistake of making fun of him when i was younger, but when im gonna be having my own kids, ill make sure theyll know better than me how to treat others.

Hi! I just wanted to shine a bit of light to what I know of the video I uploaded of Kai. I was in a bit of a mental and moral dilemma, I really didn't mean for the video to get as popular as it did it was just a fling upload along with the others. His mother actually contacted me shortly after I uploaded the video and said he's enjoying the popularity he's gained from the video and has no hard feelings towards it, as you can see from his channel he made an effort to build a brand from it. But I haven't heard from him or his family since, I'd really love to hear from him.

Everyone has some sort of speech impediment. Sometimes it's from constantly mispronouncing something and never being corrected or taking the time to correct it. It can be fixed with practice. It can never be fixed with avoidance.

@@Amins88 my grandma knew about my hobbies better than I did. She informed ME, that a new Zelda game was coming out, OOT was supposedly going to be the SHIT, and did I want it?...I hadn't heard of it, gave it a quick look, said no.
She buys it for me anyway, bc she literally knows my hobbies better than I do, she is talking to her friends at the electronics stores and the hallmark stores, and the toy and game stores, she had connects everywhere, she would inform ME, when the gen 2 pokemon were coming out, and get me the japanese original base evolutions set. She knew where to go for the beanie baby drops, and she had people willing to reserve stock for her.
She decided to get OOT for me anyway, and I just freaking loved it.
I have so much respect for people who actually get into their kids' hobbies like that. My parents don't do it nearly as much as my Ge did. And I'll always remember her for putting her own time and effort into understanding my hobbies better than I could at 7 or 8 years old.

Ah yes, one of his pokemon is called 'F*cker'. I guess we really have all been there. Back in 2000 (or was it 1999?)I had a guy from school tell me that if you named your character (Ash) 'LangesD' (German for 'Long - D-) you could catch an unlimited amount of Mewtwos exploiting the' MissingNo' glitch. It turned out to be true... But had two major downsides: One: It ruined the game for me because I soon had a team of nothing but Mewtwos, which made the game too easy. And Two: I forgot the real name of the then probably twelve year old kid and only remember his cringy in-game name to this day.

The way the panel handled it was wholesome as fuck. They didn't bring up his pronunciation and after they realized what he said they gave him the best answer they could give him. That was great.
Yeah. They treated it much better than some other adults answering kid's questions at minecon. Some of them were just horrible and made the kids feel uncomfortable as possible, like in all of those cringe compilations.
