    In order to maintain vertical jump, what would the volume ratio generally be like between the 4 different types of plyometrics?

    • @TheMovementSystem
      @TheMovementSystem  Рік тому +3

      In the short term low load and short ground contact time would likely improve vertical jump more but you’d plateau. That’s why you want phases of training that include higher loads and longer ground contact times.

    I don't know if I missed it, but if you haven't, could you make a video on sequential muscle training ? I.e how to best approach program design scientifically ?

    So would you prefer to program heavy plyo’s on a heavy leg day or a strength-focused day? Or keep them separate on a speed/plyometrics day?

    Thanks for the video! You put out really good content, love your channel!
    How many different exercises would you use for example 16 years old Alpine ski racers 2 sessions per week? And would you repeat the same exercises for both days or do different exercises on both days?
    Radcliffe in his High-Powered Plyometrics book had 9-12 exercises and mostly 3sets. I counted the volume and it was 229-250 contacts for lower body. That sounds like a too many exercises or what do you think? Ofc i think Radcliffe had pro athletes in his mind, but still it sounds too many exercises. How many exercises for plyo do you usually reccommend? I usually do 4-6 exercises and more sets. Would be really helpful to know how many exercises other coaches program for plyometics.

      Wouldn't those plyo exercises be more on throwing rather than jumping, once we get to more sport-specific exercises

    Hey Mr. Matt! Can you please explain the slow stretch and fast stretch shortening cycle in a simpler way?

    • @TheMovementSystem
      @TheMovementSystem  Рік тому +4

      Slow SSC is when your foot is in contact with the ground for longer than 0.25 seconds. Fast is shorter than 0.25 seconds. Think about a depth jump slow ssc vs a pogo hop fast ssc

    Which types are best for sprinters?? Are those all beneficial some how??

    • @TheMovementSystem
      @TheMovementSystem  Рік тому +3

      Exactly. All 4 are beneficial. Off season I tend to prioritize loaded and longer ground contact time plyos. That’s more specific to accelerating in sprinting. Short ground contact time and lower loads are more specific to improving max velocity.

    This is exactly what I did intuitively 6 years ago when I had a 40" standing vert. I used to jump with and without weights on my JustJump mat . I would compete against myself. Took like 6 months to go from 29" to 40". One is on my channel check it out.
