    Thanks for the great summer of love tour, Jordan. Those Victorian houses were awesome. I had a nice encounter with Jerry Garcia who was standing in line ahead of me at a post office in Burbank. We were both in line to pick up a package and when they said “Garcia” he had noticed I reacted to the last name as well and he waved to me to come up the counter along with him. He then told the postal worker to get my package as well since we were both Garcias. I said “thank you very much” and he smiled and said “you’re welcome.” He then looked back again at me, smiled and walked out of the building. I was speechless as to what just happened to me. Little did I know he was going to give a concert that day at the Greek Theater in Griffith Park. A few months later he passed away. So yes it’s very true about taking in every moment of our lives and cherish those moments because we never know when they will be our last. ❤️🙏🏻🌈

    Loved this vlog ~ I was a young hippie in the 60's on the East Coast in New York City. We were very fortunate to have Bill Grahm's "Fillmore East" where I grew up. My blood brother, Sandy was living on the Haight for many years and would write about it. It was the place I always wanted to visit........Thanks for showing it to me all of these years later!

    Yes life not guaranteed. Lost dad, brother & sis within 2 years and my beloved dog. Have struggled. I was a hippie back in the day and dreamed of going to Haight Ashbury. Never did and now a grandma, but oh how I enjoyed your blog today. Got to go there w/o leaving the house. Thank you I smiled more today than I have in 2 years. TY♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡

    I can’t tell you how great these San Francisco tours have been. I’ve never been there but I feel like I was there walking around with you. You have a great ability of speaking and holding peoples attention, and that along with your subject matter makes a very good segment of entertainment.You’re going to do well and things are going to open up for you, and I’ll pray for that to happen.

    Grateful dead was and is one of those bands that I fell into as a teenager my sister took me to there concerts downtown in San Diego. Things happened around then and thereafter that influenced and changed the course of my life. What a long strange trip been! Take time to see the Good that's all around you and seek out the best in everything and everyone. Take care

    I lived in S.F. during the late 60s. When the Grateful Dead moved out of the house at 710 Ashbury, they left it open and was badly trashed inside. For months fan mail was piling up in the doorway and inside the mail slot on the floor. I picked up all the mail and started writing to the people who wrote them. I removed some wooden parts of a spinet piano they once had there. It was the top and key board cover. People knew their address because it was printed on the back of one of their album covers. Later I found they opened an office on Union Street and I went there and spoke with Bob Weir and told him I had been answering all their fan mail. He gave me a huge box of promotional stuff like single 45 records, photos and stationary envelopes and paper to continue to write to people. After awhile I got tired of it and had other things to do. I still have some of the stationary and envelopes and business cards. Its nice to see the house has been restored. When they left it, it was a pigsty. Thats my story and im sticking to it.

    There were two 'Fillmores' owned by Bill Graham, Fillmore East was in New York City, Fillmore West would be the one in San Fransisco. I always like to point out that Jimi Hendrix, while American, had to come to England for his genius to be recognised and nurtured :-)

    I too lived through the 60's. During the 60's kids left home and lived in communes, lived off the land. When my husband and I took a weekend trip to San Francisco along the coast for the weekend, we stopped in Carmel at a restaurant for breakfast. I was shocked to see a long line of people in line to use the bathroom. There they were holding toothbrushes and bathroom towels to get ready for the day. I still don't know where they got the money for food, but didn't ask. The songs of the era promoted the lifestyle. We listened to those songs as we drove through the beautiful cities and towns, feeling secure that we had a place to stay.
    Seeing the sights of San Francisco was a wonderful idea for your vlog. Thank you for all the research you put into your trips is much appreciated.

    I used to live in the sunset in the Early 90's... used cruise on my bicycle all through there... I passed by all those properties many time but was oblivious...except for the Height Ashbury sign post intersection. The area has a vibe... fried on mushrooms listening to "The Dead Milkmen" and went to the Museum in Golden Gate Park... It was AWESOME. About that time there was an angry youth with a mohawk and leather jacket that would holler and give the finger to motorists that would honk at him when he crossed the street from the Haight to the park... A graffito on the sidewalk read " Death mobiles ahead" as a warning to pedestrians... Thanks for the memories...

    • @donskinner9430
      @donskinner9430 2 роки тому

      Of course it was the one "free to the public" day that the museum when anybody can get in free and "Big Lizard in my Backyard" was played on my Sony Walkman .. There was an "Endangered species exhibit" but it was 5 bucks to get in... I made a remark to the cute girl working the entrance about humans being an endangered species... the light went on in her blue pilled mind and she said " You are are the 2nd person to say that today" I smiled and thought in my psychedelic pilled mind..."someone else must be trippin" I didn't get her number... libido was gone : )

    I spent a night in the Greatful Dead house in about 1973. They had moved out by then because the cops kept raiding the house because of the drug parties they were having. I was just wandering around the Height and noticed all these hippies going in and out of this house so I walked in and was told the house belonged to the Grateful Dead. There was no furniture, just some blankets and places where people were sleeping. As you walk through the door I slept to the right on the living room floor.

    I was born in San Francisco in 1959. I know the City very well. This sign of Jack London's birthplace has always been a favorite of mine. You should go to the Jack London State Park in Glen Ellen, north of San Francisco, and do a blog there. Filming Jack's ruined Wolf House which burned down in 1913, just as it was finished, would be awesome for you and your viewers. Jack said, " I will rebuild." But he died in 1916, so now there are only the ruins of what might have been.
