Bela Lugosi was totally briliant as Dracula No one else could have played that role!! Heartbreaking that he had such a sad ending. Thanks for still another great vlog Jordan!!!
Pretty amazing he was open enough to admit he had a drug addiction back in the 1950s. That was stuff people didn't talk about then. His last wife he didn't mention in his will. Seems like his 4th wife still loved him and vice versa
Lugosi's son, Bela Lugosi Jr., grew up to become a successful entertainment lawyer in Los Angeles. He currently lives in the very affluent suburb of La Canada/Flintridge. He runs a web site that markets merchandise related to his father's career.
He thought Ed Wood used his father, it seems to me he gave Bela work that he needed.
I Loved Bela Lugosi, and his portrayal of Dracula. I have read that he was one of the nicest guys to meet.
That's so sad. I'm glad that he recognized the toll his addiction was having on him. This was so well researched and sympathetically presented.

Touching history of Bela. There seems to be so many in the entertainment industry that lead sad and destructive lives which goes to show that the general public is being sold an image created by a talented agent or producer. Rather sad but I do appreciate all your time on these interesting vlogs. The person you are Jordan is admired and loved. Keeping your mom in thought and prayers as she recovers and looking forward to future vlogs. P.S. I think Bela would be a great friend.
A very good friend of mine had double knee surgery and a few weeks later she was running about better than she had in years. Your mom will he so happy after the surgery!

Wow...Every Saturday Night would watch Shock Theater with my grandpa. Bela Lugosi was a great Dracula & his voice was scary with that accent @ 9 years old. So he died in 1956, wow the year I was born. Sad, poor Bela died suffering. Thanks for sharing with your adorable Jah..lol..

Sad to hear about Bela's addiction. I'm sorry this is where his final days were. Addiction has taken 2 very special people in my life and I have another one who struggles with his sobriety. My heart is with you Bela...Rest In Peace Dear man...the struggle is over 🖤
Poor Bela...I had no idea he was addicted to substances and had such a struggle...Life does not turn out the way it should some times, the older you get the more you realize that fact..His fans will always remember him and love his incredible performances. I'm glad he had some people who loved him. Rest in Peace Bela, thank you for your talents.
I always felt his greatest role was in the Black cat, with Boris Karloff as the heavy. It is my favorite movie. ... I developed the same type of leg pain as I believe he had. Without drugs it is unbearable, so I am in a wheelchair. He was brave. Very brave just to still try to work with the pain he had. From all I've read, he greatly loved life.
I think his performance in "Bride of the Monster" was excellent, especially considering the material. The degree of pain was evident when you compare his physical posture in "Bride of the Monster" and then after getting off the drugs, his posture in the next movie "Plan 9" where he was basically in just the one scene, and was all hunched over trying to walk with a cane.

Thanks Jordan for the interesting but sad background of my favorite horror film star from the 1930's. As a kid growing up in the 50's, I grew up watching these great characters on"Creature Feature" every Saturday night. Mr. Lugosi certainly had a rough life, but he left the world with an iconic figure from Bram Stokers classic novel. Always fun to watch the iconic Jah in action too! Cheers.

Just recently found out that my moms cousin was one of the stars in the movie Mark Of The Vampire. One of the movies that Bela Lagosi starred in. He played Fedor Vicenti in the movie. His real name was Henry Wadsworth.
I literally watched Bela Lugosi in Dracula at 4am this morning ( it was only the 3rd time I saw it ) such a genius actor . I have only just discovered your channel today. All ready loving it :-)
