OK I love Fitz but how did he miss her instant facial expressions of anger and tension?!
Exactly. I totally love this show, and it has amazing writing and acting; doubly impressive since it was made on a shoestring budget. But, occasionally they goof, perhaps for story reasons, but still .... And this is a perfect example. There is no way Fitz could not have picked up on Lizzie going from happy, good time Lizzie, to sullen, angry Lizzie.

He probably got used to Lizzie reacting like that whenever Darcy is brought up and didn't think much about it.
@@regrr1774 I’d also buy him thinking her being disgusted at breaking up random relationships as another reason to hate the dude, so the shift didn’t register as personal.

Darcy can really see who his true friends are from Lizzie's videos. Look at how Bing and Fitz still talk kindly behind him, compared to Caroline.
I just imagine Fitz watching all the videos later and being like, "....Oops." (Presumably followed by him calling Darcy and being all, "YOU DID WHAT?!")

I love every version of Fitz (book and 1996 movie too!) so much. I feel like he gets lost in all the chaos of the elopements and engagements. He's just a really cool character all around. Even if he is a little clueless sometimes.
Who is he again? I felt nostalgic when we first met him. I thought he was made up and was named after Fizwilliam Darcy's.
wonderspace90 in the original book he's Darcy's cousin and his last name is fitzwilliam. Darcy's first name is fitzwilliam(named after his mothers surname aka colonel fitzwilliams last name)

I know Fitz telling Lizzie about the Bing situation was probably not a great move as a wingman, but in terms of communication, it was probably better that Lizzie knew before Darcy's confession rather than after.
Fitz is such a sweetheart, but such an oblivious one. Him asking Lizzie what her sister's name was after accidentally revealing Darcy broke Jing (Bane?) up was painful to witness. That said, this whole episode is so well done.
Edit: I wonder how Jane reacted to this episode...

I swear, Fitz is the WORST wingman ever. But he is absolutely amazing and hands down my favourite character, along with Gigi, because she's fab.

oh my god i just realized that this adaptation of the bennet sisters reminds me of the schuyler sisters from hamilton. Lizzie is Angelica, Jane is Eliza, and Lydia is Peggy
When Wickham said "the Bennet sisters" in an earlier episode that's exactly what I thought of and I tried to sing their names the way they're sung in the songs.

Fitz is my favorite character. He cracks me up so much.
I love Fitz, he's so cute
I LOVE the irony in this. Fitz is obviously trying REALLY hard to put a good word in for his friend, who he must know by now has a crush on Lizzie, and he ends up doing not only the exact opposite, but the worst thing he could have done. Bravo! Well joinked from the book with just the right flavour and touch.
So Darcy is watching this at three in the morning because like us he has an addiction and will stay up too late bingeing these things. He gets to this episode and shouts "NO FITZ STOP HELPING" and throws his laptop across the room.
Gigi walks in and asks what's up.
This is how she finds out about the videos and no one can convince me otherwise.
There is no way to describe how much I love Fitz. I love all of the cast, but Fitz just really does such an amazing job.

You know how extroverts like to adopt introverts and introduce them to all their friends and include them in all kinds of fun and parties. That's why Darcy has all kinds of nice, extroverted friends. They all have this immediate need to adopt him because he is just so awkward.

I just love how they all fuck things up. We have a culture where you are not allowed to make mistakes, especialy not as the hero so this show is a breath of fresh air.
Yeah, most characters have some "flaw" but somehow it always gets twisted a way that the mistakes they make because of that turn out to not be mistakes . . . It is annoying, or makes no sense or the characters just suck. Lbd managed to make every single character complex and flawed and failing in judgment and still beeing relatable . . . Well beside one or two
Ashley Clements is really talented. The amount of different awesome voices/ impressions she can do is incredible. Also, I ship Fizzie. Their friendship is so cute and fun and awesome :D

Bing is in Los Angeles. Jane is in Los Angeles. Lydia is back in "town." Lizzy and Charlotte are at Collins and Collins, but where is Collins and Collins? Darcy can drop by from Los Angeles, but Jane has to send care packages?
***** Hunsford, Rosing and Longbourn are not familiar locations, so I still don't understand where Collins and Collins is in relation to Los Angeles. I understand that Los Angles is a big place, and maybe Jane is really a LOT farther away from Collins and Collins than Darcy is, even though they are both in Los Angeles, and maybe Jane and Lizzy have to rely on public transport and that keeps them from visiting each other, but it is not clear. I'm just guessing.
Erin Howarth From the book that's coming out, 'Longbourne' was in central California, which means my headcanon was correct. It's far away enough from both the Bay Area and LA to be a drive. Pemberley Digital is in San Francisco, home of the the current generation of social media sites (like Twitter). My guess is that C&C is probably in Silicon Valley, home of venture capitalists and large manors in the Santa Cruz mountains (for Catherine de Bourgh). Lizzie mentions that PD is 'somewhat nearby' to C&C, so Silicon Valley makes sense.
As for why Darcy can visit but Jane can't -- Darcy is rich. It's only an hour flight from LA to the Bay Area, but a six hour drive. Also, Jane's probably low on the totem pole at her LA Fashion job and, let's face it, she can't just leave when she likes. (It's why she gets canned later on.) Darcy, on the other hand, is the founder, CEO, and owner of PD. Who's going to tell the boss he can't travel?
I live in and have travelled up and down California for work, so I that's what I'm basing this on. :)
Ethmae You know CA well! I agree with you on PD and C&C; I imagine Catherine de Bourgh as living in maybe Atherton or Los Altos Hills.
San Luis Obispo seems about the only place that 'Longbourne' could plausibly be: 1) college town (Cal Poly) so Lizzie could be living at home while in grad school 2) far enough from SF (and with an airport) for it to make sense for Lizzie to fly home during a family crisis 3) has a train station on the line between the Bay Area and LA (Jane takes the train to LA at one point in the story) 4) 200 miles driving distance to LA (Lydia texted that LA was about 4 hours away--seems about right depending on traffic and exactly where in LA Jane lives) 5) near but not on the coast (the Bennets go out to dinner "on the coast" and stay overnight at one point in the story) 6) desirable enough place for Bing's Netherfield purchase to be plausible (King City=harder to imagine).
Brad Williams I think SLO is spot-on for where Longbourne is, given all the clues. I had originally thought it might be a Fresno suburb, but having now read the Secret Diary of Lizzie Bennet, Lizzie mentions how Charlotte had to take a bus to Fresno to see her aunt and that it was some distance away (i.e. more than local transit distance away). And having driven to SLO for a 30 minute meeting(!!) from the Bay Area, I would have preferred taking a flight than making that drive!

I love how while Lizzie is freaking out about learning the truth about Darcy's involvement and Fitz is sitting there wondering how everything is going to fit in the box XD
