Tyra did such a wonderfull job as Jane this episode, you can totally tell Jane is in love with Frank but she's trying to hide it
I know the book is old but please, try not to spoil it for the non-readers!
Camy Vancower Well, Clueless was biased on Emma, so everybody has already seen this story by now.
Camy Vancower Also people just generally have a tendency to comment on their conjectures for stories
Marie I've never seen Clueless that is a really absurd generalization to make.
Marie
Clueless left out a lot of plot points that are in the original so I don't see how anyone who has seen Clueless knows the entire story.
I think this is my favorite Knightley performance. Actually I know it is. I'm gonna go text Brent and tell him.
Kkkkkkk' It's not the first time I hear a comment like that, but I'm pretty sure It's the first time that the person who said it can actually do it!
lmao your comments are the best part of rewatching this 😂
"NEVER FEAR, FRANK IS HERE... ill be very discreet." -best part
Careful Alex. Jealous!Knightley was peeking through. Poor Jane, though. She trusted Frank to keep her secret.
"Don't hate the player, hate the game!"
"Please. No."
HAHAHAHA. That was gold.
CONFIRMED: Frank Churchill is FITZ WILLIAMS!!!!! Care package KING!
That's a whole lot of grinning there Jane. Don't think I've ever seen her that happy lol.
Jane totally told him!!!
Her face totally gives it away xD
I love how Alex so blatantly finds Frank totally annoying, but is too much a gentleman to say it aloud. He's Austen's best.
Okay but what i love about this is that Jane is smiling the whole time. She's not jealous that Frank brought Harriet the gift basket; she's so proud to see him being so generous to others and ahhhh
I think Jane and Frank complement each other perfectly, don't know how Emma missed it
Blunder! (nods to the book)
I love Jane's expressions throughout this episode! And her, "Please. No." after Emma said, "Don't hate the player, hate the game!"
That "Yes, I do" "No, you don't" banter made me SNORT OUT LOUD
THIS EPISODE WAS SO GOOD! Jane and Frank made this episode.
One of my favorites so far!!!
I JUST CAN'T WITH HOW CUTE KNIGHTHOUSE IS.
I just love everyone in this adaptation. Glimpses of Jealous!Knightley and overly flirty Frank were delightful - you can see how Emma could come to the conclusions she has. And I really liked Jane in this episode, too. Alex's "No you don't!" at the very end was perfection.
Ohhh it is so cute how Emma and Knightley automatically scoot closer together after Frank leaves 3:48. It's almost like he is a weird wedge between them, and when he's gone everything is alright. Their chemistry is wonderful (bc did you know they are also a couple in real life)? I'm sure that's old news by now :)
I actually didn't know that. That's really cute, and helps make the chemistry feel real.
He did it in the previous episode after Harriet left too. And they don't just scoot closer they're nearly in each others laps.
I'm really loving the dynamic and chemistry between Jane and Frank. Their banter is really lovely.
I know! I'm sure they'd probably had that "practical vs. fun" conversation before. And even so, Jane totally seemed to love the gift box he got for Harriet (because it's a really sweet gesture), despite it *not* being practical. (Although the solar charger is -- that's why Harriet couldn't call for help, her phone had died).
When Alex was like "No you don't." at the end I squealed. :) He knows her so well.
there's one second there where Frank Churchill looks absolutely heartbroken that Jane's gone and I might cry
"Be careful, Emma. You don't always know everything." LIKE HOW ALEX FEELS.
Jane's face is so good in this. Knightley's shirt is also a lovely bonus.
Don't mind me, i'm too busy looking at Jane's face and Knightley's arms
That was all I really noticed after Knightley came into the room. Damn, those arms. Was this the first time he wasn't wearing a full-sleeved shirt?
***** Yeah! I especially loved her expressions from the moment Frank came in.
Swati Hegde I think so! Else we wouldn't be so excited to see those arms. :))
Damn it, I want a Knightley! Or a Darcy! Why must fictional men be so perfect?!
LOL this is the best. The faces Jane and Frank made were priceless. "Yes I do." "No you don't." Hehehe. Also dem arms Alex Knightley. Bow chicka wow.
There's a lot to love about this episode (humor! plot development! great acting! romance! misunderstandings!), but come on, ALEX IS IN SHORT SLEEVES. HIS ARMS! How guys like Brent Bailey (and all the PemDig men) can manage to stay grounded and humble is beyond me, although I'm really glad that they are because that's part of the appeal.
So wow, Jane and Frank. The actors have great chemistry and I love the body language and playfulness with which they are acting out their secret relationship. I love how Frank goes and spills the secret Jane told him and Emma freaks out, but in a totally realistic, understandable, professional way.
And then we see the same playfulness and personality balance between Emma and Alex. . . Perfection!
Also, it's nice to see Emma and Jane interact as peers here, comfortable enough to even joke about Emma's attempts at pop culture lingo. Such a difference from when we first saw them together.
Also, oh, Emma, Frank Churchill's Survival Kit = Icelandic yogurt (but with playful sincerity and good intentions) here, you know that somewhere deep down, right?
I finally noticed the barely repressed smile on Jane's face when Frank sat down next to her! HOW DID I NOT SEE THE SIGNS BEFORE???
I like that Jane is/ was starting to warm up to Emma
"No you don't" Alex stop
This episode was perfect in so many ways!
Emma + Jane, Jane + Frank, Frank + Emma, Alex + Emma, OH MY GOD SOMEONE HOLD ME I'M FANGIRLING SO HARD
Seriously Emma's and Alex's first kiss is going to be so adorable! His face is going to be so relieved lol.
I'm so excited!!! I hate how I know that the Boxx event's gonna be a disaster, but I'm so excited for the next events!!!
Ella Mae Masamayor The soon Boxx is over, the sooner we'll get to the good stuff :-)
Ella Mae Masamayor We must suffer the horror before we can squeal with happiness at the cuteness, sadly. It was the same with Lizzie and Darcy (what a train wreck THAT was lol).
*SPOILERS* It was so interesting to see Frank and Jane together. Frank just mostly seemed kinda nervous but Jane was so obviously in love with him. Aggggh don't you dare hurt Jane, Frank!!!
The color scheme going on here is really interesting. Emma's binder matches Jane's shirt. Jane's binder matches Frank's gift basket. Frank's jacket matches Alex's shirt. There is definitely a specific palette they are using. I enjoy the little decorative touches that go on here. It really looks like they've put thought into it, along with the story.
I also love how Alex's feelings are showing. #spoiler The book made it apparent that he realized his feelings for Emma when Frank started to keep close by. He always knew Emma would be there, and until someone else started getting her attention, he never knew how much he loved her.
The past few episodes have been getting more and more interesting. The actor who plays Knightley is really good, as the audience you can really feel the jealousy mixed with the will to protect Emma, wanting her to be happy but not so much that it's too obvious, if I were Emma I wouldn't have picked up on it either... AAAAAAH, the ending will be so amazing :D
"You don't always know everything, Emma." Even if it were right in front of your eyes, on the verge of risking the existence of your own happily ever after.
More Jealous!Knightley in short-sleeved t-shirts please!! xD
Totes agree! Those arms are screaming to be seen!
He may have been working out recently to compete with a certain gentleman...
I wonder if Harriet noticed, she'll probably think he's dressing up for her now.
Seriously...never in my life have I thought "dude can work a polo and some khakis" until now.
Most perfect ending ever. Also, that shirt on Alex made his biceps look huge. Double also, all of their acting has gone from good to phenomenal. I love this series!
Alex has totally figured out how he feels for Emma HE'S SO CUUUUTE
Oh my gosh jealous Alex is the best Alex. I loved seeing him kind of conflicted over Frank and Emma's interaction. Also the Jane and Frank thing was really well done! Can't wait for the next episode!
Alex could wear that shirt for the rest of the show and I wouldn't complain.
I just know somewhere out there is an adorable outtake of these kinds of episodes... and someday I will see them. :) (fingers crossed) I also like to imagine later Emma leaves a post it note on Alex's desk saying "yes I do" just to get the last word. :)
Now Alex knows how to hit a cue.
Always.
"And some people are too busy having fun to take precautions"... Oh, man, this is rich. And then Emma's confidence she knows everything - HA! Beautiful. Loved all the layers of relationships portrayed in this episode. Perfect writing, great acting. Not to mention Jane looks especially gorgeous in this top (or maybe it's the love in her eyes...? Nah, it's both lol).
"Never fear, Frank is here!" that Churchill charm I can't! And Alex always on Emma's heels "no, you don't." haha and ooh Jane nervous around Frank it seems. Intriguing! Did she tell him! Also that package for Harriet the cute, seemed Jane could've been jealous since it wasn't "practical."
By the look on her face, I think she thought the gift was sweet, despite its impracticality.
Frank's face when Alex was like "Jane seems upset"
I love that there's the conversation Jane and Frank are having publicly, AND the secret one hidden behind their meanings. That plus Alex's jealousy is enough to make me squee with delight. It's getting GOOD!
Love it when Alex gets the last word in! Especially when he's right.
And the beginning was totally adorable, that is until it became awkward.
Love seeing how these scenes connect with the book. Exciting developments underway!!!!!
I've actually almost kind of liked Jane the latest episodes. And there was some chemistry between her and Frank! I like! Frank was brilliant as usual, I can't help but love him.
Jane's face when frank mentioned box. Amazing.
"Yes I do."
…
"No you don't."
And that's how to hit a cue! Well played Snarky Knightley! XD
This just totally made my day! I love the part in the book and everyone does a great job, there we have the young and crazy Frank , who doesn't realise what mistake he just made, quiet Jane, who's just glowing and instantly angry, Emma, who hasn't got a clue and Alex, who easily spots what's going on. The chemistry between all of them ist awesome!
I'm just gonna throw this out there: Mr. Knightley looks SO GOOD in that polo shirt.
Helloooo Mr Knightley!! I noticed it too. He´s bringing up his game
Lorena Piliado He knows he has competition. I love it when he's jealous.
It's actually SO cute how much everyone cares for Harriet
I've never seen Jane smile as much as she did in this video with Frank... I wonder why?? Lol :D
ALEX IN THAT POLO kill me now he is so handsome
Oh my gosh. Emma and Jane's matching smiles when Frank walks in... it hurts!
Alex: Just be careful Emma, you don't know that I like you yet.
That survival box makes it look like Frank may have studied care packaging with Fitz.
Ahahaha! "No you don't!" That was perfect timing! Well done Knightley.
Jane and Frank play their parts so well... I can't wait to see it all play out!
Such awkward scooting from jane away from frank hahaha
They were shoulder to shoulder for a while there.
I'm so happy with this episode! So much happened! Frank's slip up, Jane's reaction, and Alex's jealously! Yay!
I loved seeing Emma and Jane genuinely acting like friends and like they liked one another.
Jane's face in 2:32 gives it all away!
Well, this episode is adorable. And I love seeing Jane so happy.
Blunder! Dixon! Love the nods to the book. And the "no, you don't" timing by Alex was perfect. :)
Jane's reaction to Frank's blunder is really good. It is interesting to see the hints and such. I'm starting to really like the videos that end with Alex on the screen. He makes it very happy/funny. :)
oh Jane and Frank have good chemistry with out saying hardly anything to each other :D
"Don't hate the player, hate the game!"
"Please… no."
The end is so totally adorable ! I love them together so much ! I ship them more than i ship Darcy and Lizzie. They are just so natural together. Love it.
Oh Frank, you are in the dog house now. ;)
Completely obsessed with the banter between Alex & Emma. Cutest, thing, EVER.
HEHEHEHEHE Jane and Frank's first onscreen appearance! Loved it. Loved Jane's reactions to everything Frank. And his exit, hilarious. Overall fantastic episode. and that ending :)
ERMAHGERD, IT'S ALL HAPPENING!
Oh I love this! So close to the book in such an original way!
The more I see Jane, the more I adore her! (and I really liked her from the beginning)
UGH, Jane's expressions with every word Frank says!
Great acting from everyone here. Couldn't help but laugh when Frank said "I'l be very discreet" before prancing away. Can't wait for the next episode :)
oh the smiles from Jane!
The way Jane looks at Churchill throughout the episode ^^
I am in loooooove with Jane's hair!
So cute how they show Jane and Frank have some “opposites attract” cuteness going on. I never really got them together in the original, but here it’s plain to see!
Frank you were adorable in this episode!
Jane you did not...
Snarky Knightley seems jealous.
And that ending, priceless!
I cannot believe this...is Alex actually JEALOUS!? Yeaaah, he is! So good!
Frank is totally into Emma, she just cannot see it. Really, she's so blind in front of the things she really doesn't want to see. I'd love to be like that sometimes...
I'm guessing yo haven't read the book honey.... lets just say Frank is into someone completely different :)
Ananya Yoda you didn't have to spoil it for her though...
Ananya Yoda That seemed unnecessary. Why would you say something like that?
Ananya Yoda Seriously, why would you spoil it? Thank you, really. This is literally the last time I comment or read comments.
Its a book thats been out for centuries
this cast is seriously so perfect! I begin to wonder if they just jumped into the book and dragged the characters out of it... Awesome script and awesome acting!
This episode was so good! Did anyone else notice that Knightley looked really fit in this one? Seriously, his muscles were practically popping out of his shirt. It was distracting (in a good way).
Omg Janes face when Frank drops it and then he has a quick moment of oh shit and just is like uhhh whO KNOWS HOW I HEARD IT and when Jane starts trying to cover it up frank looks sad and then when she leaves he still has that face he had when trying to tell Emma about her then just quickly is like MAYBE ITS DIXON oh you sly dogs it's so obvious tho
That ending was perfection!!!!!!!!!!
THIS ONE FELT VERY LIKE THE BOOK AND I LIKED IT A LOT YAY
There are more emotions on Jane's face on this episode than there are of Knightly wearing short sleeves. I object! :p
Great acting for Jane!
And I think that's points for Alex at the end. :)
This is a fun one!
GOD, he's the perfect Frank Churchill. Best casting for him of ANY adaptation I've seen.
Jealous Alex is jealous :3
Frank and Jane are so cute! Their banter is adorable. ALSO I NEED MORE JEALOUS!ALEX IN MY LIFE.
Frank leaping behind Knightleys head out the door at 3:46 is everything.
Snarky Knightley is jealous!!!
UGH Emma you are so unobservant you are driving me BONKERS! lol I'm both dreading and excited to see this story unfold
"I'll be discreet"
I would pay serious money to get the rest of these episodes, pleaseeeeeee let us see more!
I was rereading Emma, did not originally notice all the subtle hints that were leading up to that twist!
