No that's not true. A lot of people had even more to say about the societal issues presented in the series. I don't think that's the single reason it's been cancelled, but those sentiments are absolutely being shared en masse online, alongside other criticisms (such as creative ones). It was mostly cancelled because it had low viewership numbers so Disney pulled the plug. Without bringing up star wars lore or mediocre storytelling it was honestly just that. If enough people watched it, be it because they genuinely liked it or because they were hate watching it would have a season 2. Andor(another disney star wars show) was sort of in an inverse position where it was a show that was pretty much received well by audiences and critics but had low viewership. It would have also been cancelled but word of mouth spread of it being good and the viewership went up. As a result it got its season 2. Disney have been incuring a lot of high budget losses in recent years, so it is a lot harder for them to give multiple chances to products that are not performing well presently. A few years ago I'd imagine the acolyte would have been given a few more months before Disney executives would decide to greenlight another season or cancel it. Its honeslty pretty interesting though seeing people within the industry claim that the deciding factor to why a show(in this case the Acolyte) got cancelled because they believe people of a political standing convinced a studio to close it when its all about the numbers and sales to studios. Sometimes we get good storytellers attached to good IPs and sometimes we don't, the executives just want to see profits.
I believe US companies in their financial reporting must disclose for shareholders potential causes for losses. Disney admitted in it's last disclosure something along the lines of 'some of our content may not culturally align with audiences leading to a drop in viewership'. In other words 'our continued insertion of far left ideological politics along with encouraging staff, actors and access media to insult audiences for refusing to support our ideology turned large numbers away'.
That's the shield they've hidden behind. Fact is the vast majority have turned away. So say we accept their claims we're all istaphobes, we're also that vast majority so if they want to stay in business, they must appeal to us, like it or not.

Feminist ideology, woke mindsets, etc cancelled your show. Tbh you should be grateful that you were even a part of the Star Wars franchise because without a feminist director, you would not be on the show. Plain & simple.
It got cancelled because the showrunners, actors, studio execs and shill media kept accusing the fandom for being bigots and raysis every time someone gave any criticism. You can't shame someone into submission, they will just get pissed and move along without you and that was what happened to the show. They kept attacking the fandom and the fandom had enough of it and didn't want anything to do with them. It's easy math, suck up to the fandom, give them what they want and they will keep being fans or do the opposite and lose them.

No viewer's, no show. Consumers make or brake it.
So now we cant even criticize a show or movie if a minority or lgbtq person is in it?!
That's the shield they've hidden behind. Fact is the vast majority have turned away. So say we accept their claims we're all istaphobes, we're also that vast majority so if they want to stay in business, they must appeal to us, like it or not.
@@Heylo12345 You can while acknowledging that a lot of the "criticism" that media faces now is because of that as well.
Everyone: the writing is bad 🤷♀️🤷♂️
Star Wars Fans: the writing is bad 🤷♀️🤷♂️
Common reviews: the writing is bad 🤷♀️🤷♂️
“Woke-olytes”: the racism 🤥🤥
Blaming customers for a failed product is so hot right now...
Not Star Wars.
Never watched a single episode = badge of honor
You ruined Star Wars 🖕🤡
She needs to grow up. She is too beautiful and talented to grow up to be another bitter black woman.
She has this “above you “ attitude. It’s obvious and really annoying.
Not everyone is obligated to love you. GET OVER IT!!!
Hate trig? Yea, trigonometry was definitely hated when first learned.
Shows get cancelled all the time, did you expect it to go on forever.
It sucked , sorry.
Star Wars died for me when they killed Luke Skywalker's Character
Star Wars died for me when they killed Han Solo. All three sequel movies sucked.
As an old SW fan with over 100 books of the -now old- stories I can say with 100% certainty that the story of acolyte was the dumbest shit that happened to SW lore, ever. And trust me when I say, that is a low bar to limbo under ...
Modern Hollywood is full of people who can’t take criticism because they were raised being told they were perfect.
Should never have been made. Everyone knew it would be a terr8ble show full off politics...not story. Good riddens. It 8snjust a terrible show
Then we're accused of being istaphobes for knowing in advance what they were offering so responded early. Why are they annoyed we were right?
Those words are being thrown around so much, it doesn't even have an affect on people anymore. It's so commonly used like as other word in our language lol
They put black lesbian space witches who get pregnant by flying wires in Star Wars!
What were they expecting???
Girl your show was absolutely a completely UNWATCHABLE !!!! It was a horrific painful experience to sit thru one of those episodes
I watched 2 episodes didnt hate it, just never kept watching. I have 2 friends who love star wars and liked the show.
Some people think that just because we are star wars fans we are stupid and cannot recognize good stories from bad stories.🤔🤨
The thing that cancelled the show is the show being garbage 😭
"Take a drink every leftist buzzword".
Miss.. that is gonna send someone to a hospital
They seem to forget, that if they don’t make good shows… no one watches. Just because no one watches doesn’t make us bigots, we just aren’t interested in that lifestyle. Hollywood has forgotten that we only need them to entertain us, we don’t need a social justice makeover every show. We reserve the right to turn off the tv!
Show wasn't canceled. It was only picked-up for one season. It just wasn't renewed.
Seems like she is more of a professional victim than a professional actress.
I now feel thankful to have grown up at a time when people only viewed actual bigotry as bigotry. I can't imagine being so woke that EVERY SINGLE NEGATIVE THING that happens to me has to involve bigotry. That must be an exhausting mindset.
They don't like the taste of their own medicine.
this is why I watch your content.
It was canceled because it was insulting and not commercially viable!
Thank god it was canceled. Disney needs to save what little respect Star Wars has 😅
Love your channel young lady!
I can’t see Disney cancelling a show because of some “bigots”. They are for profit so my guess is it has to do with money, not feelings.
The 2024 mantra: "The problem isn't me; it's everyone else."
What happens when you tell the majority of the fan base that 'this isn't made for you, so you shouldn't watch it'
And then they do that,
" It wasn't me! It was the one- armed CIS-MALE!" Go woke, go BROKE, folks! Here endeth the lesson! 😁
@user-kk5fv8om7e I love how you people always say that. As if 1)woke is a bad thing 2) anyone has ever really gone broke by showing awareness towards society's issues - unless their audience was mostly bigoted hicks, I've never seen that before. And yet, you've all repeated this line so much...why?

I watched it all wanting to like it as much as most all other Star Wars shows. Poor story and dialogue is why it got cancelled. Since it left on a cliffhanger that is a sad thing.
I have several big time Star Wars fan, friends. They all hated the show. They thought it was stupid. That is why it was canceled.
I didn't even know there was a show 😂.
Is she trying to outdo Rachel Zeigler for the title of most obnoxious Disney actress?
She should be grateful for even having a role in the Star Wars universe even if it was short. If I was her, I'd be so happy to have been picked for any role related to Star Wars.
When your show didn't get renewed and you can't be bothered to look into the camera and deliver a legit monologue for eight minutes with actual emotion.
Cancelled?

Exactly! Jedi are now evil and anyone who defies them is some kind of freedom fighter.
When I heard that actor IN STAR WARS commented in that interview that Anakin Skywalker blew up the Death Star I’m like, yep they’re screwed. That’d be like a Rings of Power actor saying that Gollum threw the ring into The Mount of Doom.
These people will always look to place blame everywhere but on the fact that they made a bad show. It's always someone else's fault but theirs.
There is something about her voice and tone as she talks about her victimization. It's almost like they all sound the same.
She didn't learn anything, she didn't forget anything
“I’m so mad I just have to post a video and play with my hair about it”
Feminist ideology, woke mindsets, etc cancelled your show.
Now I'm from the Neilson ratings days but don't shows still get cancelled when nobody watches them?
It’s almost like we saw this coming or something 😂
no amount of internet anger can outweigh what voting with your wallet does to a show.
