´´Someday´´ is like the Hunchback equivalent of I Never Knew You. They both have a famous version sung by pop singers. In Pocahontas case, Jon Secada and Shanice. In Hunchback case, All 4 One (in the spanish world it was sung by Luis Miguel, and I think his version is the most famous, but perhaps im biased because of being spanish lol).

I believe that Someday is the very heart and soul of Disney’s the hunchback of Notre Dame as it can be heard throughout the film.
It’s more noticeable on the Legacy Collection expanded soundtrack.
Someday is embedded throughout the score.
But I think Someday isn’t given justice as a pop song.
I love the song so much. It’s lyrics are so beautiful and powerful.
It’s my favourite song of all time.
I agree about the German play version is the greater version.
However. I disagree about Disney not using deleted songs in the remakes.
For the remake of beauty and the beast they used cut verses for Gaston and the reprise of tale as old as time.

I'm not sure if you know this (not a lot of people do admittedly), but the English production of the Hunchback musical also brings back "In a Place of Miracles" which was also a deleted song from the movie. It was meant to be a song that took place in the court of miracles after Phoebus and Quasimodo warned Esmeralda and the others that Frollo was coming. It showed the growth of Esmeralda and Phoebus's love for one another and was their romantic ballad, but it was reworked in the musical to add Quasimodo's heartbreak of Esmeralda falling in love with Phoebus and Clopin wondering if there truly will be a place for the Romani.

I’m a huge fan of Hunchback’s stage adaptation so I was well aware :) I have even seen the original animatic.

@@amm2media472 I find myself flip flopping between both versions of the musical because I love both equally. However, I do wish “Balancing Act” and “Out of Love” were also included in the English production and while I do like “In a Place of Miracles”, I also really enjoy the reprise of “Out of Love” in the Berlin production.

I love this song so much! To me, it feels kind of like the show's closing elipse to 'God Help the Outcasts', where the former's theme is about directing prayers to others who are worse off than oneself, and the latter takes it the extra step with the message that said prayers will hopefully be answered, if not in one's lifetime. I love the takes from both stage versions, but I do prefer the more anthemic one from the original German version (part of that is for the line: "A prayer for something better is the one thing we all share" which really showcases true spirituality and believing in something greater than oneself, as opposed to Frollo's piety and skewed perspective of God's will).
If you are interested, I've made my own set of animatics to some of the songs exclusive to the English stage version (including 'Someday'), as my motive was to express my vision as to how the songs would look if they were animated, OR what I personally would envision for a live-action remake of the movie: ua-cam.com/play/PLSVCmhz8SNMyEJwxci0wrfqyn2B2CTBxK.html

Honestly, as much as I love “God Help the Outcasts”, I think “Someday” was a much better song. It’s still one of my personal favorite songs that get overlooked.

Disney used this song once again for the finale of their new (but lame and underwhelming) nighttime spectacular, Harmonious, at Epcot for Disney World's 50th anniversary celebration.

At least this video does go into some of the details about Notre Dame's production history. ua-cam.com/video/9YMbBC967MU/v-deo.html
Plus other than The Jungle Book and Beauty and the Beast, the upcoming remake is one I'm looking forward to. Though I wish many other people should feel the same since those on the internet who repeat or keep having the same mindset, which is one thing that I wish would stop. It would be number 10 or an honorable mention for this video: ua-cam.com/video/L-OtvKIc45s/v-deo.html
By that I mean, those that continue to have contempt for remakes or reboots of previous works. Even with their explanations, they still feel like useless gibberish it feels more like a combination of confirmation bias and bandwagon-ing because they think it's the cool thing to do. At least these 2 videos try to make a good counterargument: ua-cam.com/video/11bhka58cKM/v-deo.html
