- This is the original scene of Someday from the Hunchback Of Notre Dame movie, where it is now covered under God Help The Outcasts. I ripped this video from my DVD, so if there are any copyrights that don't belong to me, then it belongs to the owners.
Oh my God these storyboards are beautiful!
They should have kept the part in wich she leaves a rose under the virgin mary statue..it's so emotional

I do really love this song, but I guess I feel that God Help the Outcasts seems a better fit. I do, however wish they did include this somewhere in there. I don't care if it slowed the plot, but it's such a wonderful song.
in the musical someday it became a duet between Phoebus and Esmeralda, in the scene where they are trapped waiting to die, I liked this change and the music fit better in that scene.
I just wish "God Help The Outcast" would give more prominence inside the Cathedral like Someday did...
I agree - they could've fit in this song right after Frollo discovers the Court of Miracles and captures her, and it could be a duet with the also imprisoned Phoebes, just like in the stage version.
in the stage musical, this song is done as a huge chorus number and it's one of the most poweful things you'll ever hear.
"I don't know if you can hear me,
Or if you're even there.
I don't know if you would listen
To a gypsy's prayer
In your house of peace and beauty
I don't know what to say
Except to ask that peace and beauty
may come to us out there someday
Someday
When we are wiser
When the world's older
When we have learned
I pray someday we may yet live
To live and let live
Someday
Life will be fairer,
Need will be rarer,
Greed will not pay
God speed
This bright millennium
On its way
Let it come
Someday
Someday
My fight will be won then,
We'll stand in the sun then
That bright afternoon
Till then, on days
When the sun is gone
I'll hang on,
Wish upon the moon,
Change will come
One day
Someday soon"

E...excuse me, I...
*goes into a corner and cry*
I've always liked this song but I love God Help the Outcasts too, so I'm glad it was in there.
This is really powerful...I wish they had kept this song and put it somewhere.
Well, they did in the stage version. She sings this before she is sent to die.
in the musical one day it became a duet between Phoebus and Esmeralda, in the scene where they are trapped waiting to die, I liked this change and the music fit better in that scene.
I just wish "God Help The Outcast" would give more prominence inside the Cathedral like Someday did...
They used this for Harmonious in EPCOT
What an awesome song.
Hunchback of Notre Dame is on the Disney Theatrical list and it would be so cool if they somehow got this song in there.
I didn’t realize this song was originally from Hunchback!!
Surprised how no one has commented on the melody being the same as "Stars" from Les Mis.
Yes it is!
That song always make me cry! Wonderful!
It's glorious...! :')
I wish they kept it..
I kind of wish this song was in the movie. They could have put where it is in the German stage version: Esmerelda is about to be burned at the stake and sings this. She hopes things are better someday even though she won't see it.
I swear I have heard this song before on some album somewhere. But considering this movie and it's makings are older, I'm guessing that this is the orginal verison to...what every other verison I heard. Cool.
it's in the stage version
Well they have this song in the credits
@javiere1990 She dies in the book too. But the German stage musical version of this movie kept her dying. It's really sad. The musical is supposedly coming to Broadway sometime soon. Hopefully with the sad ending.
From the looks of it I would say that they have a pirated DVD version of the laserdisc release.
the ending reminds me of the song "Soon" from Thumbelina
This would've been way more epic than God Help the Outcasts.
I don't think so. I actually think they're in the same level.
That's exactly why they cut it our of the final version. They wanted a "calmer" song for the cathedral scene
If Only Things Did Change for Gypsies ...
We are still Outcasts
=(
were looked down upon still....but myabe someday we will be equel with everyone else as we should be
Wow. this is beautiful.
They should have put this song somewhere in the movie and not deleted it.
I actually think that this version of the song fits a little better than God Help the Outcasts. The lyrics in this one add to the story a little more.
This song isn't as bad as I've heard some people talk about it, however I have to say God Help the Outcast was just so much better for this setting and the characters.
Good night, everybody! Whoo-hop-hop!!
I think this is beautiful. It means more to the Hunchback in my opinion.
@TheChillyAcademicIV
It's sad that anybody has to endure it but most people don't like what they don't understand or know about. I think there should be more exposure to the gypsies culture. I didn't know there were still gypsies until a few years ago and that was only after meeting one.
This could've been a nice addition to the movie...but what wouldve been the ending song?
Weill SOME DAY, If they release the blu-ray version of this movie,which i think is the best Disney animated movie of all time, it would be great if they included this scene in the movie and you could have a choice which version of the movie you want to see.
It didn't.
@librainred In the germany stage production she sings this song as she's being lead to the stake to be burned it's beautiful there because Phebus (idk how to spell it) and others back ground sing
This is a beautiful song, but in the context of the movie, I think that God Help the Out Casts is more powerful than this. It is sad that they didn't find a place to put this song, but at least there's UA-cam...
@rebelwithacause666 Oh, I would love to see that. That actually be perfect! I loved the music in this movie, and to think there was a stage production. :D Wow.
Which DVD? The one I had had NONE of the Deleted Scenes. You're so lucky to have this!
Region 2. I don't understand Disney's motives half the time.
I know, but it's a horrible rendition by an R&B singer, not the singer they got for Esmeralda. I don't know why Disney is under the illusion that anyone likes that stuff (or was, don't know if they still are, haven't seen very many of their recent movies).
All-4-One is awesome. They were going to have Michael Jackson do it, but the allegations nixed it.
This is better than god help the outcasts
@robertreturns Aww, that sucks.I'm so glad my sister's too old for them (I thinks he hates them as much as I do). I wish they would stop with this CGI crap, and go back to hand drawn stuff.
Ya.
@goofygrrl Say what!?
Dammit! It alwas comes as a shock to know that Disney has a happy ending... I remember I cried when reading the "true" version of the little mermaid...
@robertreturns I have no idea. I've never made it a point to listen to them. They're just not my style.
@TheThreeWeavers
Im not sure what you mean maybe you need to reword it a little but everyone should have respect and love for everyone no matter how different they are from you.
I believe one day that a time will come when people will truly understand eachother.
@robertreturns Ouch. I'm sure several months of listening to good music will help them... Why did you have to listen to them, anyways? Used t like them? Younger sibling? Etc...?
@librainred They have the scene on youtube it was beautiful I think they have one on here with subtitles
@javiere1990 I actually find the ending of TLM to be sort of inspireing. She dies, but because she worked so hard for what she wanted she was given a chance to actually get it.
Does anyone know the singer? Sounds like it could be Alice Ripley, who also sang Menkens King David concert around the same time
Personally, the lyrics of Someday have more meaning that God Help the Outcasts.
I like the final version better
@TheChillyAcademicIV I cannot understand why Gypsies are decriminated against. I'm sorry, but All I've heard is that they do a lot of traveling, and that they're very religious. Neither of those sound bad to me. I am sorry, but I am not well versed in many cultures and I have never seen any reason to descriminate against people, so it is all very confusing to me.
I regret listening to Annapantsu’s cover!
@KougasGal101
Eaxctly my point, friend.
@javiere1990 Probably because the impact would have been lost since Esmerelda lives in the movie and dies in the German stage version
They have.
@robertreturns it is, but I mean in the movie itself, not the credits, and not one of those crappy covers that Disney is under the illusion that everyone likes.
@goofygrrl OMG! That is such a briliant idea! How comes Disney didn't thought of that?
@TheChillyAcademicIV Really? :(
@nightmarexbat i don't mind cgi as long as the movie itself is good. i gotta say there's some magic in hand drawn movies, though. aren't miyazaki's movies hand drawn? i forget.
@TheChillyAcademicIV true especially since the movie drag me to hell came out
@adsweaty
I didn't call YOU prejudiced. Infact i didn't say anything remotely mean to you.
@TheChillyAcademicIV i have company
@robertreturns Its a culture jus tlike anyother
I dont know we came to be, Im still a kid but i dont know all the details of my heritage, your best of asking an older gypsy
@TheChillyAcademicIV I've thought for a long time that Gypsies are another race of man, llike others. Are you? Or are you only a culture? Or you both? Or more? If I made any offense, but I'm sorta curious.
@TheChillyAcademicIV Well just know that if you came around my community you'd be pretty well recieved, because my town preaces Eqaulity (And actually upholds it) ^o^ I can only hope someday eveyone will have that good mindset of equality. Good luck, I wish you the best :D
@nightmarexbat good for you. my ears have already been fucked by their terrible music
@nightmarexbat it's in the credits, isn't it?
Hey, what’s w/ the Korean subtitles?
@nightmarexbat yeah, don't the jonas brothers sing some of those? i hate them.
@TheChillyAcademicIV what is a gypsie exactly?
@TheChillyAcademicIV oh sorry :P im so stupid i thought since you used the word you, you meant me
im so sorry!
@adsweaty
Yet it seems to me that It's the only culture in which you can be openly predjudiced against and no one gives a crap.
@nightmarexbat my sister likes the new disney. jonas bros. do music on that channel. funny, i came up with a joke about someones ears bursting to bad music.
and spelling is spelled like this not spellibg
@Queerlioness Its a race and culture, Your born a gypsy you cant become one you have to have it in your blood :S
@adsweaty
No problem :L
@nightmarexbat lol
@TheChillyAcademicIV oh sorry :P im so stupid i thought since you used the word you, you meant me
im so sorry!
