The KV-1S was intended to be a more mobile version of the KV-1, and was intended to match Medium tanks speed. The S means a word in russian that means speed and to make this tank more fast they needed to remove armor and they made a smaller turret with less armor.

Yeah the scariest thing in the entire war thunder history is going around a corner and seeing a kv2 looking at you. Even if you are behind a wall. It gives an unsetling feeling. If a kv2 is looking at you there is nothing you can do....

I’ve been playing for nearly a year and I’m currently researching a rank 6 US tank. I’m about halfway through rank 2 of the USSR teach tree and my favorite is the kv-1 L-11. It’s a blast because the damage of br-350A is amazing when it pens. I’ll happily continue watching this series as it comes out. [ExcZo] JWCampbell2008

As a beginner soviet main rank 2 is pretty strong. T-50 is by any means OP. The T-28 and T-28E is good in my opinion but not the best especially when it comes to long range combat and not mobile enough IMO to be a good flanker. T-34s are very good except for the 1942 variant. It's still good but for some reason it's more difficult to use for me. The KV-1 L-11 is on par with T-34s but it's relatively weak gun and slow movement may present some challenge though the armor makes it the Tiger 1 of it's BR. KV-2 is derp gun, fire then pray you can fire another shot. The KV-1s has lower armor but it's mobility allows it to be more versatile and that reverse speed is a blessing. For the TDs, Zis-30 is a point and click heaven till M2HB and CAS drags you down. Su-57 is pain but still doable. Su-122 is a funny joke to the sending end and not very much for the receiving end. Yag-10 is decent but it's a CAS prey, I compare it to the Flakbus. For SPAA, I gave high praises to the BTR-152a. The GAZ milk trucks were good but for me it's not as good as the BTR. For comparison, the milk trucks have autocannons which has decent penetration and the Zis-12 exploits this by having good ROF. However, the reason why I chose the BTR is because first it has good handling compared with the two. While it has less speed, I can control the vehicle better. Second, it's more protected than the GAZ. While it's still vulnerable to many attacks, I survive more things in the BTR than the trucks. Third, the weapon handling is better. It doesn't the same firepower and range but it has a better muzzle velocity and doesn't have a glaring blindspot in the front though it has difficulties on engaging closer enemies especially the smaller ones due to it being placed higher on the vehicle.
Just got back into WT after a long hiatus. I left while in Rank 2 for USSR, so this video was a perfect guide for me to get back into it. Hopefully Rank 3 will come out as well!

I haven’t always been a Russian enthusiast, but recently I’ve found myself going back for more tanks in Russia. I’m a German main sadly, but that’s slowly changing to be more of a Russian main just because I enjoy the slow but steady play style of their heavier tanks.

I've been playing WT for just over a year, so I'm still relatively new to a lot. At first, I was not much of a fan of the soviet tech tree due to the horrible depression found on the turrets, but I've started to change my mind when taking into consideration the armor and firepower benefits of many of the vehicles. The BTR-152A was my SPAA of choice until 5.3. It's great at killing planes and gets some pretty weird non penetrations from enemies due to it being made of stalinium, really recommend it.

I like it better than the ZIS 12 because it has more protection against planes. Protecting your gunner is especially important if you want to shoot down a plane that is strafing you
The T-50 and T-126 are my favourite on rank 2 for all the positive sides of T-50 you covered in the video, only the turret traverse speed is the limiting factor to these great tanks. DaffSaft

T-28's are surprisingly mobile and good for what they are, and I have some fond memories from my old clan ("Wolfpack," long since mostly died; kinda sad seeing so few in it last I checked) getting uptiered to 5.7 in the T-70/80. 45mm APCR or APCBC = massive troll to Panthers with side shots. Helps being a small turtle tank.

T34 1941 is a beast,it is sometimes a fortress and sometimes mode of paper, but I loved it because of its agility. Hope you liked it as well.

the position of the SU-122 being surrounded in your video, one of the opponents was me and and literally used my ammo up shooting at him brrrtt lmao
For me killing the T-28 was shooting its track and running circles around it as its machine guns are weak to any armor i used and its main turret is slow. Still a fun take to use though

Cant wait for the USSR rank 4 vid its my favorite rank with my favorite tank the IS2(1944) which thanks to the recent secret buff to it from the la royale update and the even more recent br changes makes it even better, rank 4 USSR is still my go too rank despite having rank 5 and 6 USSR (which are also good specificaly rank 6)
