is this about the technology? feels just like a huge sales pitch. Also, is the last one the one that the battery can explode if overcharged? Nice feature!
Most practical for personal transport(that you can actually buy) : electric unicycles. They have longer range, faster and small enough to place under your desk at work or seat at the cinema/restaurant(ie doesn't get stolen). Bit of practice needed to ride.
Merci. Thanks TechnoNerd. That Brink S2 skytboard and Hoverboard look quite interesting. Really workable. If my motorbike brakes down on road, hear in South Africa, I can use it. Put it under the broken motorbike wheal and just get move on to safety. ..

The moment I saw the Walkcar I thought of the creeper in my garage that can't roll over a zip tie.. lol that thing won't even be able to handle the expansion joints on a concrete sidewalk.. let alone most asphalt roads. would be great for grocery shopping though!
It takes a lot of electric power from the power grid to produce gasoline. Using electric power directly is significant progress, not perfection. Beware the FUD about the significant progress of electric transportation.
That lil vehicle in the thumbnail photo looks like it would be called "The Street Bee Buzzcraft". It looks like something you'd see in a Star Wars flick.
The X1 Explorer bike looks pretty interesting, but one with the larger battery costs $1,295 USD plus shipping. I live in Canada so after exchange it would cost almost $2,000 CDN. It's a nice bike but a bit on the high priced side. The hoverboard looks interesting but I think that it would be dangerous on uneven sidewalks or cracked pavement.

I have a Seg Way and I see all these new products yet most of the people don't wear any protection. Please wear a helmet when you purchase any kind of these products. Never think that you're not going to have a wreck. I rode mine and came upon an incline and before I could blink, I was on the ground. I was alright except the wheel kept moving and I ended up cracking 2 ribs. I knew I was hurt and I rode it home for at least two weeks it hurt me to take a deep breath. I always wear a helmet, even though I rode motorcycles for years. That wasn't my first wreck, I was going along the sidewalk and another incline that turned into a curb I fell quickly into a busy street. My helmet took most of the impact and I was unhurt. Please be safe and watch everything, people may not see you. Thanks

I can't imagine the life expectancy and how costly it is to fix these items. The talk of handling 265 lb riders doesn't tell us how much of the power is lost as you get close to the 265 max.Even the 250 dollar hover board item is costly if it only lasts one season and can't be repaired at a reasonable cost.A perfect example is that item mentioned that is sold out and no longer sold, that tells me you likely can't even get a part if needed.

I generally agree with people who feel like these devices are made for lazy people but let's remember that there's a reason transportation vehicles have been created in the first place. A lot of times you have to travel more distance than you can by simply walking. If you live an hour walk away from your work oh, maybe something that allows you to speed up that walk to a 25 minute walk and 12 minute electrical glide is pretty handy. It's all about balance, no pun intended.

The problem with these is they almost always bring them out at price points way above what they look like they should command. Most, for instance will not plunk down $1300 US for an electric ride-able furniture dolly, or $7K for an electric enclosed motor cycle, when gas motor scooters are starting under $1K. Do not get me wrong, these do look cool, but the group in this video, except for the Swagtron, are priced way over what most will be willing to pay. I want to see more of these, at practical price points, where I can believe the companies will still be in business at least 2-5 years from now, selling new products and providing service for some of their old ones.

Electric vehicles are not generally propelled by zero emission power, yet. Almost all require charging power from the power grid.
