Good to see the eye patch gone. Hopefully your on the road to recovery sooner than later. I have a LSG Santa Maria Grill on my bucket list. Blessings on you and your family Louis.
I had thought about buying this smoker and having it do double duty as a grill, but on second thought I would use it as a smoker only to prevent paint peeling from high temps
It won't peel, it just ended up happening because I wasn't paying attention and let the temps get too high. I will say that if you take your eyes off of it and the fire does get out of hand, it will lead to it so just keeping an eye on it would be best.
Thanks for the video. Your a good dude. This grill looks interesting but as so many before it's really hard to execute all the types of cooks it says without issues. Better to do one or two things great instead of average or below on most
Thank you for the video using the Grill Grate. I recently purchased a LSG and added the Grill Grate. Would you be able to do some videos using the Grill Grate? Thank you!
Most definitely! I can certainly do that! Probably not this coming video since I already have everything setup for the 4th but be sure to subscribe if you haven't already and I'll make sure to do one!
I use it when grilling for alot of people. Normally I use my kamado Joe but for more food I definitely use it. Nothing much else to tell really. Don't let it get too hot otherwise the pain will blister and peel like it did mine
How bout reduced fuel & have a small fire on one side for direct/in direct? Also, why not put the grill on bottom grate & grill meat on top grate. Heat is closer to meat for faster grilling? Leave lid open.
I would 100% not put it on the bottom grate. If it got hot enough to peel some of the paint at the very bottom, I can only imagine how it would be on the bottom grate. When I first used it, I just used a full chimney of fuel and it was wayyyyyyyy too much. When you little grease fires, you'll also need a way to tame it so leaving the lid open won't help with that. It'll make it worse. I do like the idea of the direct/indirect and I've been doing something like that since. Better regulation too!
I definitely would 100%. I used it again yesterday for a small get together. Tons of capacity and you can use the top rack to do your sausages while the bottom you do your chicken.
Thanks for the information. I ordered the charcoal insert with my 42" pellet from LSG. Since I currently have no charcoal grill I hope it works out well.
I was a migrant worker as a kid through my teen years, I served in the US Army and overseas in Iraq during OIF, I worked hard to provide the American Dream for both me and my wife. I do what I want now lmao

Absolutely!
Great video boss... I'm glad your eye is better🙏🏿 your review videos are always on point. 👌🏿👊🏿💯💯
Thanks man!
Love this pellet smoker, but for charcoal I love my $80 Weber Jumbo Joe.
Haha mine is an offset stick burner. I don't have an LSG pellet smoker.

@@ElSenorBbq Awesome Thank you!
I would never put a fire in the smoke side
Facts; as this was not built to function primarily as a charcoal grill
Any other thoughts on the charcoal insert one year later, do you still use it frequently? Just orderd the 20×42 with the insert.

How do you go about smothering the fire?
Close the vents and it dies out
@@ElSenorBbq I was worried about pealing the paint and heat back feeding into the hopper components..
@tgates811 in my case it peeled the paint from not paying attention and letting the fire get away from me
The question isn’t is it worth it, it’s would you buy it again.

How do you get your wife to agree to more grills. That is the real trick.
