Let's go! Love every video AMG puts out. I feel like I'm guaranteed to learn/improve every time I get the UA-cam notification 🤣

hahaha love it🙏
Heck yeah. Athletic motion! I learned a while back that if I'm having a ball flight issue, I need to adjust my ball position before I try anything else.
Nice! It's always worth looking at first before diving into mechanics.
Super guidance. Thank you!!!
I learn so much from every vid you guys put out. If you put one out everyday I would watch it. I went back and watched a bunch of your vids from a few years ago. While they are good I would watch refreshed versions because your vids have simply gotten better. Just an awesome channel. Thanks for all the effort by putting these out! You guys are rock stars!
Wow thanks so much!!!
i wish i discovered this channel earlier! the visuals are perfect for me to understand the minutia of everything i'm doing wrong. couple tiny adjustments and i can't wait to get out there.
Finally a golf lesson that hit home.thanks guys loving the smash factor numbers now .hitting the ball solid.this lesson changed my game.
Wow thats so great!
These videos are so info packed I forget to LIKE them before I move onto the next video(or review a past vid).
My bad, gotta work on that as well as my ball positioning!!
Fundamentals, Fundamentals are the key to any successful endeavor. Tanks for another fantastic lesson, you guys just seem to be getting better and better with each lesson. Thank you.
Love it
As always, you guys are great with easy instructions and visual aids to understand and to relate too! I wish i can come to see you guys in person.👍
You're welcome down anytime😊
Always take the swing to the ball.. not the other way .. thx for the vids. The ball pos suprised me, but l was having trouble keeping long irons on the green.. so. I will take this to the range
This is exactly what my students need to see. Thank you again.
No problem
Fantastic video. Well done guys 👍🏻👍🏻
Thank you for watching! Anything stick out that you might not have been aware of before?
Very very helpful
Great topic for those of us in the north who are looking forward to the start of the golf season. Something that we can practice right now in front of a mirror!
thank you, guys...
Love some mirror practice!
This is definitely me putting the ball back in my stance so I don’t hit the ground first. I found out before this video if I stand over the ball more I hit it much better. You guys constantly show key things and make it sound simple! Thank you for this video now I have to do it
Great!
I shoot anywhere from 73 to 83, but have a pretty respectable short game. My bad days are generally from inconsistent ball striking. Now, I know why. I'm guilty of BOTH of these setup errors. Ball too far away(reaching), and too far back in my stance. Thanks guys. Best channel on UA-cam.
Awesome. Knowing is half the battle. Thanks for watching!
This video could have been made for me!! Some of Shaun's first comments in my video lesson last week: "Handle too far in front of the ball at address and stand a bit taller (therefore a little closer to the ball)"😁
Stood in the wind & rain yesterday doing the drill he set me for 3 hours and found that I had to move my ball position up to accommodate the fact I'm now finally doing these things properly. As I always struggle for consistent compression with an early release, I'd always pushed my hands forward at address and ball further back in stance in an effort to get better ball/turf contact. At first the set up felt totally alien to me and there were a lot of bad shots but when it began to get more familiar, ball striking was good and starting on target again. Now I just need to fix the swing 🤣 Great video and you boys need to send some of that sunshine over to Scotland please 😁
Love it! Glad to hear the iLesson is helping. The 🌞is in the mail!😊
More gold. Thanks boys!
Thanks brother👊
Crazy to think that a Major PGA Tour winner needed a ball position checkup!!! Great video and reminder for all of us that are striving for better contact.
Great video. Quick question: the drills at the end of the video say to bend at the waist so your hands touch your knees, but it looks like the pro in gears has his hands at mid thigh?
Excellent video and explanation, especially the common flaw where players move the ball back in their stance thinking they are creating shaft lean and compression. I was wondering if you could expand on this for uneven lies, especially downhill lies. Are there any tips or drills that you could show?
Weapon terms, golf explained to my technical brain…. I am happy. Thank you AMG.
Great tip, I would add for setting up to a fairway ball to set the club behind the ball and lean the handle back until the butt end is just above the target side knee.
Good tip👊
Great video and things we can work on this winter! I’m working on more hip bend at setup : less knee flex but feel now that I’m falling toward my toes in the backswing although my plane is much better (les flat). Do I need to shift more pressure into the heel / middle of foot in the backswing?
Just mid foot. Don't go to the heel
Is that for every club?
I've been trying to get used to my ball position being more forward, and getting myself closer to the ball. But I don't think I've gone far enough with either one. Fingertips to the top of the knees, I'll be implementing that immediately. Just trying it, I can already tell that I wasn't bending enough. Thank you, AMG!
Awesome, glad it helped connect the dots. Let us know how it goes👍
Hi great video can you show the same for the driver and woods or is it the same thanks
Ball position will move up a bit more for the driver and woods👍
Thank you for this video! I'm a beginner golfer and am having a tough time with making the move from "L to L" to a full swing. Your videos have been a revelation with respect to what my hips and body should be doing. I'm still struggling to find how to hit through the ball, and a lot of my swings seem to be coming back down to the starting position from the backswing. I'm also really tall, which is a problem with actually finding contact. Got any videos for people like me?
Welcome to the game! I'd recommend starting with this video to help simplify the swing ua-cam.com/video/N1H9N_o8Uos/v-deo.html
So, are you advocating one ball position for all clubs?
Would this change with clubs? I’m mid cap golfer who hits irons ok but struggles with driver. My ball position is forward but I stand pretty close to the ball. My main miss with driver is coming in too steep.
Hello ,i can t understand shifting without moving the heaf forward. Thank you.
Exellent!!!
Thanks!
Great video ! Would the ball be placed back slightly for wedges, 9 iron?
You should start with a bit more weight on your front foot with the short clubs, so the ball doesn't need place back.
Finally someone addresses the ball distance in front. I could never get it consistently right. Is it the same for driver?
Very similar
When I get the proper bend via fingertips at top of knees my clubs no longer lie flat and are on their heels with toes up. Guess I need to get clubs fitted/bent for the new posture?
So what happens to distance from body with longer and shorter clubs, upper body tilt, arm hang, etc assuming forward ball position is same? (Not including driver)
Loving your videos. Any chance of selling the amg swag like those blue or white snap backs? Those hats are calling me.
haha were rolling outthe store soon
Fantastic video. By his high standards, Jack Nicklaus went into a nearly two-year slump from around 1969 (though it may have been 1979) from which he could not figure out how to escape. Completely frustrated, Nicklaus paid a visit to his boyhood instructor, Jack Grout. After watching Nicklaus hit a few shots, Grout asked Nicklaus to address the ball. Grout then stepped on Nicklaus's golf ball and spun it along the ground a very short distance towards the target. Grout, from what I understand, then said, "That should do it." And apparently it did.
Love the comment, but I have doubts about "approximately one rotation". The circumference of a golf ball is just over 5-1/4". That would be a massive change in ball position. Especially for a guy like Jack. That minor detail aside, the story speaks volumes.
Great story!
@@winstonsmith11 And the slump also appears to have been around '79, not '69.
@@winstonsmith11 How 'bout half a rotation, would you buy that?
@@winstonsmith11 I recorded my little story, let me know if you approve.
Really enjoyed this video. Been working to rebuild my golf swing and used all of February to work on re-centering (took lots of buckets of balls from this former load-up-on-the-rear-foot-and-push-off golfer). This video brought everything together and helped me hit the sweet spot >80% of the time as opposed to ~50%. But one thing I've noticed is my draw of 30+ years has turned into a slight fade. No complaints, as I am hitting it longer and with more control. But why did the ball flight change? Thanks for all the work you've done via your videos to help revitalize my game.
would need to see the swing to know for sure. If its a solid shot then the face is sligtly open to the path. A baby fade is a nice way to play :)
@@AthleticMotionGolf Maybe that should be my motivation to join your all-access group. :-) And I've made the decision to own the fade. It's been a big adjustment to trust it, especially with the driver, but I am getting there. More importantly, I am not hitting any big hooks in the woods anymore. Thanks again for all the help.
Perishable skills. In golf like in music or anything we can loose some if we don't keep practicing
What about short irons? I’ve always been taught ( and taught) to play them in the middle.
Here we go boys !
👊
So....having the ball forward makes complete sense, as the pelvis will be over the ball (correlating to the bottom of the swing arc) when the proper forward shift is done....got it. My question is: is the ball positioned under the logo for every iron? or is the logo position for perhaps the 7-iron, and then move the ball (slightly forward or slightly back) based on the particular club? If the concept is correct but it is not the 7-iron to have the ball directly under the shirt logo, which club would it be?
Thanks in advance! I learn so much from your videos, as I am really "practicing" for the first time.
Jack played with the ball in the same position for every club. He just varied his stance width.
When the ball is forward of centre do you put the club head right behind it at address or in middle on stance? When I put the club head behind the ball my shoulders are open at address. Thanks
keep clubhead behind the ball. Just reorient the body to get square. Also many great players have slightly open upper body at addres
What iron were you using for this video? Do you place all of your irons in the same spot? If I put my 7 iron that far forward the face is too shut and I just pull hook the ball.
Your hands are in control. Close the face later.
Interesting dilemma: range practice vs course. A lot of times, the angles established on the practice range help your setup (visually) and you'll find you hit things great. That all changes on the course as orientation is continually changing. Must focus on what that good setup FEELS like ... and be able repeat that on the course. On the range use multiple targets and try not to hit to one place the entire session.
I’m just under 5’9” with short legs..(3o” inseam) playing standard standard and feel like I can’t get close enough without choking down at least an inch or more. Should I be choking down or are my clubs too long?
I would try it. Anthony Kim used to choke down he was pretty good :)
Over the years I've developed a pre shot routine that builds in alignment posture and ball position...cant hit a ball unless I go through this simple 5second routine...
love that
Will this help me with flipping?
Possibly not...that could be caused by a few things.
"swing killer", yup yup !!
This simple thing troubled my game for an embarrassingly long and frustrating time. I played it too far back and it drove me mad til I figured it out. 🤦♂
Second request: do you advocate keeping the ball in one position for all clubs?
Very similar. Just more forward for driver and sligtly back for wedges and lower shots.
Man I do this, I’ve been struggling with fat shots lately so tried putting the ball under my left pec instead of centre and boom started flushing it again
is there a prize for geting the pro's name on the gears?
haha we should offer a free bowl of soup (caddyshack reference)
@@AthleticMotionGolf I'm guessing Rory .. on a lighter note. were you able to straighten out Jim Renner??
Haha, I just learned last week that my ball position is too far back in the stance !
a common problem :)
Seems like the question on is this the same for all clubs is being avoided
it's been answered
Sorry must have missed it
