Kiln loading pro tip: how to tell if your pots are touching

I came up with this simple “touch/tip” test for when it’s hard to tell if a piece is touching another, the kiln wall, or a post. We can’t always use our eyes, but we can clearly feel when a pot is free.
Other than refires, all you need is the tiniest space between pots. I love to pack my kilns tightly and efficiently, and have been doing it this way for decades.
