I hope this franchise comes back. With the fighting game renaissance we are living in right now my hope is high! If Marvel 2 can happen a new Soul Calibur can!
Someone mentioned in the last video in the comment section about what if Nintendo were to pull a Bayonetta move and stepped in to fund and published SC7. That would be insane to see happen. Exclusive to Switch 2, but Nintendo and even Bandai Namco can go much further than that if they wanted to. Maybe make SC7 into their own Smash Ultimate and NO I do not mean turn SC into a platform fighter, no no! Get all the characters from each SC game into SC7, all the stages return and maybe some stages based on Nintendo franchises, a new next gen visual art style, guest characters and/or more as DLC. Maybe the gameplay feel more fast paced like SC2, and a bigger budget much like Ultimate. Maybe get Sakurai to be director of the game. He knows a lot about fighting games from his UA-cam channel. Even Max knows Sakurai is a fighting game fanatic after watching some of Sakurai's YT videos on his channel. Link and Ganondorf from Tears out the Kingdom would be great to see in SC7. Even other characters as guest characters or as DLC. (My) Long answer: Cassandra's story mode kinda bridges the gap between the original time line and the new time line and why it's called SCVI and not SCI. Spoiler warning: SCIV Cassie (after disappearing into Astral Chaos) falls out of a portal [known as an astral fissure], and stumbles into this new time line. Having amnesia and gone insane from the time she spent in the Astral Chaos, she couldn't recognize her doppelganger (at first), but all she had to live for, was to save her sister Sophitia. Mitsurugi, Cassandra, Zasalamel, Hilde, & Hwang had the most lore filled chapters. Grøh had most of his character development from libra of soul mode where you (the conduit) play a fitting role within this conflict.
