RIP Geechy Guy. I just discovered him through this video and now I'm heartbroken to hear that he passed away 2 days ago.
Me, too! We're watching this Drybar show on our TV 10/2/23. SO I googled him. I could cry! He was really funny. I'm so sorry for his family. And US!🙏♥️

I loved Geechy Guy. He was so kind. One night aboard the Carnival Dream last year, he sat down next to me and talked to me for over 30 minutes. He was hilarious even when he wasn't trying to. He will be missed.

Until now only one liners comic I knew was Steven Wright. His punchlines are at times so absurd, they make you think. This guy is right up there with him. Will be watching them both from now on.
Wow I had to scroll a ways down before finding a Steven Wright comparison. I first heard Steven in 83 or 84. I always loved his deadpan style. I can't believe this is the first time I've ever seen this guy. I've done some amateur stand-up. The only thing I saw wrong was he was kind of explaining a few jokes. I enjoyed this though.
Recently my mom passed away on Oct,23. My younger brother also passed on Dec, 11. I had been taking care of my mom for about 5 or 6 years and helping my brother (who was in a wheelchair for 13 years.) My mom passed from cancer and a bad heart. My brother passed from taking his life. I haven't had a lot to laugh at recently but thanks to Dry Bar Comedy I laugh every day. THANY YOU so much, Dry Bar. You and the comedians are GREAT. Much love to all of you.
I remember watching Geechy Guy on Comedy Central about 30-35 years ago when they used to show stand-up, but haven't seen him since. I remember he was funny then, and I'm glad to have found him again, and to see he's just as funny. Great set!

I remember seeing him on the Half Hour Comedy Hour on MTV back in the late 80s early 90s. Unfortunately, he was doing the exact same bits back then. He was one of my favorite comedians when I was a kid. I'd love to see him do some new material.

I saw Geechy on MTV's COMEDY HOUR back in the late 1980's.
He was funny then and is still funny and still using a lot of the same jokes.
Joke grenades is one of them it's good work though it's been so long I thought this was another guy stealing the original grenade joke
When you look at todays audience, 75% never heard of him. 15% haven't heard those jokes for 20 years. 10% are happy to hear them again. The guy is batting 100%

I watched the set and thought he was really good. As good as people I've watched on Network television or Netflicks. When you said he's been around a long time It makes me wonder about the randomness of life, like how some people just fall into good fortune and other people just as talented never make it.

Hes got a huge dry humor. A good sign of dry humor is they dont laugh at their own jokes. Dry is huge in Europe and especially England. It's not too big in the USA, but thanks to the office tv show. It has gotten more popular in the USA. I have used dry humor my entire life just naturally. And I know first hand a LOT of people just don't understand it and that's OK.

Totally get what you mean. I was once with a group of people and one guy said he was having trouble sleeping so someone suggested he try using melatonin. I said, "Just be careful. It may cause drowsiness." No one got it.
I love dry humor and it's hard to find in humid States. This is my first time hearing Geechy Guy's humor and I loved it.
