1:11 About the battle music part, Brothership actually had a different composer from the Alpha Dream games. This game's composer is Hideki Sakamoto. Who was the composer for some of the Yakuza games, Pokémon Mystery Dungeon, and the guy who composted Smash Ultimate's main theme Lifelight. While the Alpha Dream games composter is Yoko Shimomura who is most famous for being the composer for Street Fighter 2 & the Kingdom Hearts series. My best guess is to why they did get Yoko back was either A) Since only 2% of the old Alpha Dream staff came back (yes 98% of the developers were new to the series) they wanted to give this game a completely different feel to what Alpha Dream made similar how DKC Returns did or B) Yoko was busy with other projects like the Mario RPG remake or Kingdom Hearts 4 that she couldn't return to compose the soundtrack. (Or even an option C if it were true. If the remake of Mario RPG does well enough and they green light a sequel they might want to give all Mario RPGs different composers to separate them some more. Because having 2 major Mario RPG series with the same composer might cause confusion among casual audiences, or at least be a bit redundant in their eyes)
thats a little hard cus media can be percieved subjectively this game ive heard good and bad things about so it seems its not objectively a bad game really
@SweaterSwagg no, I understand what you said I'm saying that even when judging a works quality without brand recognition there will at least be a few ppl out there that think it's good not everyone's opinion on what's quailty is the same even if it's something universally panned. There's almost no objectivity for game reviews anymore (if there ever was at all) because of this
Reclusa is a fun villian, but he doesn't get enough screentime. Why couldn't they just cut Zokket out entirely and have Reclusa be the villian for the whole game?
The pacing is the biggest issue I have with the game, second is the B Button being no longer confirmation in combat is a sin. Should've been a 25 hour adventure instead of over 40 hours. So many parts just draaaags, the beginning takes too long and the second to final act should've been shorter, the 2 time we visited Zokket's Fortress could've been a single trip that can still manage to combine the Glohm Bowser, Extension Corps and Zokket fight, then go to the Great Conductor. We might even have Reclusa get more screen time too (such a fun villian) I don't know, I feel like it has so much potential to be the greatest Mario and Luigi RPG in a long time. I love the new cast and the world building. But man, it does take way too long until we get something good. Hell, the time to get the final Bros. Attack from the last Bros. Attack is insane!
IGN was somewhat right about Brothership, but for me, the pacing of progressing through the game isn't that annoying to me, neither is Luigi following Mario around. I actually quite enjoy the game, even if it was slow during the beginning part of the story.
This is exactly how I felt about this game. I feel like if IGN just gave it like a typical 7 (which is usually given to games even worse than this one) nobody would have bat an eye. Finishing this game was a CHORE. By the first 20 hours I just wanted to roll credits on it. The sad part is that it would have been a genuinely good game if had better pacing.
I still think IGN is full of it. The pacing is definitely a little weird and it's clear they're starting to run out of ideas, but it's the, what, sixth, seventh Mario & Luigi RPG ? I think people expected way too much from it, probably spurred on by what I call the "BotW era" of Nintendo game design (every game has got to revolutionize the series). I'd say it deserves about the same rating as Super Mario Galaxy 2 did back in its day, where IGN did the opposite and gave it a frankly undeserved 10. It's not the revolution people were hoping for, "just another" game in the series, but it will get its own niche playerbase. Especially given that the modding potential is frankly insane.
Why someone would complain about luigi logic? It's a fun mechanic! It helps you collecting coins, hitting buttons and it's by far the most interestinf part of the boss battles. And about the pacing, the only bad part of the game is collecting the bonds before entering the soli-tree.
You can't press the B button with Luigi because that would make menuing with the new battle plugs confusing. I don't understand why reviewers don't recognize this. The new battle plug mechanic is a widely praised element of the game, so keeping it at the expense of the B button is certainly worth it. The story was also bolder than any other game in the series in my opinion, giving effort into creating likable, memorable characters.
This game is definitely better than dream team to me but then again the only ones i really rave about are superstar saga and bowsers inside story but brother ship is third on my list however I do agree with Luigi being a pikmin

"Too low of a score for a Mario and Luigi game" Media should be judged for what it is, not its brand prestige.

@Keeby219 You're missing the point, regardless of the final score the weight of the brand's name shouldn't matter when judging the work's quality.

I was Acctually really annoyed when I realized the games not 2 player and Luigi just Fowllows you around
Can’t be disappointed when it wasn’t promised that there was going to be 2 player and then there wasn’t
@ I’m just saying it would have been nice if the game was 2 player and it’s like your forcing me not to be mad about it
It's been a single player RPG since,,, forever.....

To me no its a great game and Im loving 10/10 for me I love it
Also I say Luigi logic is a AMAZING mechanic

Beat the game after 50 hours later

8/10, no hamner bonk

If a game revolve around the "it get good after X hours" you know the game is trash

Wait ! That's some good content for such a small channel I'm definitely subbing keep up the good work 🔥
(Also Dry Bones pfp is obviously a W)
Some of their critics were justified but the game deserved more a 7/10.
@_Teetos how about like give it a 8 or 7 for Mario and Luigi brothership
Underrated vid
the algorithm gifted me this video, I’m definitely subbing
After 50 hours of playing the game, i never have the need to beat the final boss with plug aids and went to the old fashioned way.
