I found your channel while searching for meals in a jar. My granddaughter is in college and she hate the food in the cafeteria. She has a microwave in her dorm room and can open a jar (meal in a jar) and have a good supper after heating it up. She would love this. Thanks for the video.
I hope she enjoys it. Burritos in a jar, ravioli, and tortellini are a few of the others that I have posted. Once garden harvest is over, I will do lasagna, spagetti-os, pizza in a jar, and a few others that are my go-to meals in a jar.
I just found your channel and can’t wait to try some of your recipes. This one sounds so good and will be easy for my Mom to have potatoes soup whenever she wants it.
As always you do amazing videos 😉 I know I always say this BUT it is so TRUE..I LOVE CAN EVERYTHING YOU CAN.. I have turned a closet into what I call my FyreFly pantry..my granddaughter calls it my secret garden 😂😂😂
Love that! I have a closet in my spare room that is my canning pantry. I had a friend install shelves in it a couple of years ago. I live in a 550 SQ FT apartment, so finding storage space is a practice in creativity... you have seen how big my kitchen is!! The rest is not much bigger...
I have this in the canner now only I just found your recipe. I just made up what I thought was my original recipe. Goes to show there are no new recipes!
Do you think there's any reason why canning actual cooked or leftover potato soup wouldn't work when you consider canning gravies and other thick things work just fine (with proper precautions of course)? I've really been wanting to try canning actual potato soup (I'd have no milk or cheese but would have ground beef), but I'm just curious as to your thoughts on this. Thank you again for this video!
I got this opener off of ebay. I does not ding the lid so (hopefully I don't have to) you can reuse the lids if you have to . Best opener ever www.ebay.com/itm/Pry-A-Lid-Jar-Tumbler-Bottle-Canning-Prepper-Top-Remover-NEW-OLD-STOCK-VINTAGE/274263828314?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649
Thank you @Shannon Champion!! @Carolyn Moody, I use a JAR KEY from Amazon, but if you can get the PRY-A-LID in the link Shannon gave you, it is better. The jar key sometimes leaves a little dimple in the lid, so I can't re-use them for canning. I reuse my lids. I always inspect my lids when I wash them and sort them... reusable, only good for vacuum sealing, only good for leftovers, only good for crafts. I mark directly on my jars with a sharpie (comes off with rubbing alcohol) and put a dot on my lids so I know they have been used (and how many times). I mark them one line across for vacuum sealing, an second to make a X for leftovers, and a third to make an asterisk for crafts only. In 2020 I found that I had to reuse lids a lot more than usual, but so far have not had any fails... not to say I won't or that they might not fail while on the shelf, but in hard times you do what you have to. It becomes one of those "my kitchen" issues. I would rather have new, but sometimes you just can't.
This looks fabulous and I think my husband will enjoy it
potato soup is my favorite!!! gonna try this...thanks for sharing!
I hope you enjoy!

I have canned it with ham in it and not had any problems. I haven't tried ground beef in my potato soup but that sounds delicious!!
Did you pre -cook your bacon at all?
you can. Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't. I don't add a lot to the jar.
came back to ask where did you get your jar opener??
