I hope this message finds you well. I wanted to take a moment to express my heartfelt appreciation for your exceptional teaching style and dedication to educating us in British English. Your simplicity and authenticity in the way you teach are truly commendable. Your ability to explain complex words and topics in a clear and understandable manner makes learning enjoyable and enriching. I particularly admire the way you incorporate beautiful topics and cultural traits into your lessons, providing us with a deeper understanding of the English language and British culture. Your slang videos are an absolute delight! They not only enhance our vocabulary but also give us a glimpse into the vibrant and diverse world of colloquial British English. Your efforts in presenting students with such wonderful English lessons are truly invaluable and greatly appreciated. Your passion for teaching shines through in every lesson. I feel blessed to have you as my British English teacher. Thank you Katharine❤

Hello Katharine I really like this video. Its very helpful to understand day today conversations . British council is ofcourse very helpful for education and culture. Thanks a lot for your lovely video ❤❤
Thank you for this interesting video Katherine!! I love the ideas of your videos, they're really helpful and diversed. I would love it if you make a second part or better make it a series! I struggle with pronouncing "t" at the end of the word i hope you'd include fast talking, including t at the end because i sometimes pronounce d or r 😅 and it sounds really weird.
My best british english teacher, you really teach true fluent british english, the one we need especially when watching "Peaky Blinders". New subscriber
Great lesson, tips, and sense of humour, Katherine! Weak forms are arguably the biggest hurdle in getting to grips with connected speech, especially for students whose first language is typically syllable-timed. A practical lesson on English rhythm would be most beneficial in this respect. 🙂
So interesting ❤ Not only is the content of the video useful and informative but the body language is awesome and so inviting 😎 Thank you Kathy for your help 😊
I don't feel even a slightest of difficulty in your pronunciation and understanding your English when you speak fluently. The words flow out smoothly out of your mouth. Thanks.
Excellent lecture again Katharine. Fast formal British English is a bit easier than fast accent/dialect English I think. I went to visit a friend of mine in Cork once. At a grocery store an old gentleman approach me and asked me something in a dialect I didn't understand AT all. Later I learned he was asking for help since he was not able to easily reach the top shelf. What an embarrassing moment...☺
Thank you Katherine. Love this kind of linking sound videos. It certainly helps me understand native speakers better and sound more natural when I speak.
Hi, Kat, you are always the best tutor in the social media ever. We are so proud of you that we are all your students. We figure out what you say as usual, and I personally pick new words/idioms/phrases/proverb, so on. Please do not amend the way you speak to us which is much appreciate to listen to you as a native speaker. Appreciate that.🙇🏻♂️🙇🏻♂️Wish you a lovely weekend. 😎🤩
@@englishwithkatharine Moreover, to be honest, Kat, your positive energy & smiling approach hug us while you are broadcasting that make us focus on the lesson as well. Thanks a lot for all👏👏👏
Querida Katharine, It's so wonderful having you on friday's lessons, please do not slow down your speech, is so useful for training the ears! You did an amazing video with these hacks, thanks for your dedication and kindness , have a nice weekend, bye!
I actually have a native lecturer when I studied in campus. He is Mr. Kenny, and he is from Liverpool, even he has passed away but I still remember many lesson from him. I am not a reader, but I love to practice, I love to watch many native videos talk about English, even I couldn't take all of the material well. Excuse me, by the way may I join into your online class Miss Katherine? May be you would like to give me a free zoom link to take lesson. Hehe... Best regard🙏😊
Understood all , Kat , except " Shall I put the kettle on " and thought I heard " ..Shall I get along " or something. I normally can follow what you say and also this video , even your fast speaking , b'cause your articulate the words so well , and that s a-gem-of-a talent .❤
I always wonder if talking fast isn't something that comes naturally, if one starts with standard English, be it American or British English, or English in any other English speaking country. I can't imagine myself trying to learn lessons that prescribe, to me, how to speak fast. I figure that I'll just let that happen by itself. I've been amazed by hearing people telling me, sometimes, to slow down, please, whereas English isn't, supposedly, my native language. The first time I heard someone tell me "Slow down, please!" was in my last year of secondary school, when I was reading aloud a text in a school book, something about philosophy, or in a philosophy book, meaning that it wasn't anything as simple as pears and apples (which I decreed, long ago, to be my favorite fruit, apples), and, the text was in French, my personal native language. I explained my speed, to myself, by knowing that I had decided to look at the words ahead, before reading them, and by the fact that phiosophy is a subject that highly interests me. It's as if, to me, it were an exact science with nothing confusing in it. So, I mean, I was reading a text, in a language that I was quite at ease with, and about a subject that ignited my thoughts. That's how I gathered that I was reading too fast for the teacher, who surprised me, by stopping me, since he was known for his ardent way of speech. Now, transfer that to English, and, I'm at a loss for an explanation, when a native English speaker tells me "Slow down, please!", when I speak. That happened to me in Haitian Creole, too. It's not always easy for me to put a lock on excessive speed, when I get caught in it. So, you see, I'll just let my language speed happen by itself. It's a good thing that writing can't be subjected to excessive speed. I guess that that would be called "short hand".
Good morning 🌅,have a great day thank you for what you do it,Im still learning English and enjoy your video and learn as well , I wish you a great Friday
Hello, Katharine.😊 I'm absolutely satisfied with your natural speed. Please keep at it, as natural a speed as possible, which is really helpful for us learners.
