    Princess made of butterflies…😂😆🦋🦋
Great advice, and I also remove my soakers when I get home, as they can get pretty wet from the cold blade condensation once they heat up in my hot car. They dry in a bout an hour.

I keep some dessicant packs in the skate bag and drop one in each boot when I get off the ice. It keeps their interiors dry between trips to the rink and avoids accumulating odors. YMMV, of course, but that works for me.

This is a very good idea, first time I've seen it mentioned. Will definitely give it a try.

Thanks! This was very helpful. I just got my first pair of skates today. I can attest to the gloves needing to be washed. My gloves smell terrible after about two skate sessions.

I’m considering getting the edea guards because they don’t trap the water in like other hard guards

That’s the main reason why we like ours.
There is also a rumor that due to their ribbed sole you can walk on ice in them, but Bruno has successfully disproven that theory 😂

I just got my first pair of skates. I haven’t used them yet, so I was wondering if I can store them with my guards on them? Also is it necessary to have soakers? Or can I just use a cloth to wipe them off and let them air out when I get home?

Congrats on getting your first pair!
If you don’t have soakers yet, you can still protect your skates by following these steps:
Dry the Blades Thoroughly: Use a clean, soft cloth or towel to wipe down your blades and the bottoms of your boots right after you’re done skating.
Air Dry Completely: Remove any hard guards and let your skates air dry in a well-ventilated area. Avoid storing them in your skate bag until they are fully dry.
Alternative Blade Protection: If you’re worried about the blades getting nicked or scratched at home, you can wrap them loosely in a soft towel or cloth. This isn’t as ideal as soakers, but it works temporarily.
Consider Getting Soakers Soon: Soakers are relatively inexpensive and provide extra convenience. They're worth getting because they offer better moisture absorption and blade protection.
Until then, just be consistent with drying and careful with handling your skates. They'll be fine!

What kind of socks do you wear

Bruno likes nylon Mondor skating socks.
I prefer normal thin cotton socks from H&M 🤷🏼‍♀️
