Ive never owned a Pokemon game on release (i have played a lot of DS pokemon games well after their launch) but Im really hopeful with the hardware of the Switch 2 that they have the chance to make a fun game WITHOUT all the optimizations that they were forced to make with the Switch 1 hardware that made Scarlet and Violet suck. (also S&V was kinda lacking in all design departments from story to pokemon designs) we shall see
Arms 2 I want the most. So much potential with that world and those characters, I really want that to be their third mainstay online competitive game, behind smash and splatoon of course.
I know right? There's so much LOREEEE. Like...WHY do they have stretchy Arms? Who started the tournament? What are they fighting for? I want a sequel to go DEEPPP (and Biff to be a playable character >w
Most ARMS fans want the dev team to actually give us a story behind this strange and stretchy universe. Myself included! We care, but we want the lore so we can care more!
@@thespeedyyoshi for sure, just like the splatoon world, I think it's really neat to learn about. But perhaps even more than splatoon, they can evolve what Arms is, it's a gene right? I wanna see that gene evolve. Let Arms get crazy. I want to see what happens when the arms can do more than just stretch out. I want to see what mad scientist shenanigans go into how they treat the gene. There's endless potential here.
I wouldn't entirely count on Astral Chain 2, mainly because of the current situation with Platinum. So unless they got Capcom and Clovers to help, I'm not holding my breathe.
Clovers isn’t owned by Capcom so it shouldn’t be that much of an issue, Kamiya is just directing Okami 2 for Capcom, but is still eager to keep working with Nintendo.
I think people are blowing things out of proportion with Platinum right now. We don't have the full picture, but one of the game directors who left, Abebe Tinari, went on BlueSky to quell the notion of Platinum being doomed by saying there's a ton of talented staff still at the studio and suggesting we don't count out whatever they do going forward. Plus...look at Retro Studios. After Metroid Prime 3 they were rocked with high-profile staff leaving, with things seeming bleak...and then they still delivered with their revival of Donkey Kong and their contributions to Mario Kart 7 (even if they kinda vanished off the face of the earth for the next decade - Prime Remastered was finished in 2021, at least, so they've been more active than it outwardly seems). I'd still hazard a guess that if they're doing anything with Nintendo right now, it's probably a new Star Fox after they codeveloped Zero. Astral Chain 2 would already need to have been finished for it to feel probable at this stage, and I doubt they've been sitting on finished Switch 2 games for years now.
I can't say for sure how likely it is, but an updated UI for the Switch 2 home menu would be appreciated, and a more regulated and less sluggish eShop would also be nice.
It should be noted that Animal Crossing & Splatoon don’t have *AS* much overlap as some think, but also aren’t completely separate like some believe. For context, New Horizons & Splatoon 3 have 32.5% staff overlap (not a majority, but more overlap than EPD games from different divisions). So while both can be worked on to some extent at the same time, they currently can’t both be going full-steam-ahead with development.
Worth noting though that since Splatoon 2 they’ve been working hard to lower that statistic to where it is now. It might not necessarily be the case by Splatoon 4 but I think we are fast approaching a time where the two teams can be fully separate from one other.
That’s STILL reduction anyway. Stop complaining! Just be thankful and that’s enough. If they want more less or whatever, let them be. That’s up to them.
I reckon they’ll capitalise on the huge success of The Super Mario Bros Movie by giving the titular siblings special treatment. I can see a new 3D Mario and Luigi’s Mansion 4 coming out early into the Switch 2's lifespan.
Seems like a risky move to put out a Mario game early in the consoles life. Not sure Nintendo has ever done that before. Maybe they should release a game with their mascot first to get early console purchases
This is exactly the kind of optimism I love to see about Smash! I’m really hoping for an epic reveal within the first year, setting up for character reveals over the next several months.

The joys of editing - using 1 billion video clips😂 Forgot to say it in my other comment: Merry Christmas! I hope you have a nice holiday and take some time off😊 You’ve become one of my favorite UA-camrs this year, and I know it’s a very hard thing to try and make into a career, so I’m praying for you, bro!
A Tears of the Kingdom type Star Fox game would be cool. Imagine building your own ship and traveling as Fox to different planets, all the different terrain to showcase climbing and swimming. New weapons and a reason to update him in smash bros too
@@ShamarTalley If it's not for you then it's not for you. The game shouldn't have to abandon its identity just so you would want to play it. That is like Mr suggested Zelda should drop the open world adventure crap and go on rails because Open world adventures games isn't for me.
@ your not allowing me to have my opinion - which I still stick with. Legend of Zelda is the worst counter argument you could have picked. They reinvent themselves all the time. This isn’t about someone being right or wrong - I said what I wanted in the game. If they do it or not doesn’t bother me either way lol.
@@ShamarTalley Ocarina of Time: Traditional 3D Zelda game with a back and forth time traveling mechanic to explore and solve puzzles. Wind Waker: a Traditional 3D Zelda game with a vast ocean and an instrument that changes the wind to explore and solve puzzles. Twilight princess: a Traditional 3D Zelda game but link can turn into a wolf to explore and solve puzzles Skyward sword: Traditional 3D Zelda but link can do a Skyward attack and fly an open sky to explore and solve puzzles. BOTW: NEW 3d Zelda going open world where link can use a bunch of tools to interact with your environment to explore and solve puzzles. TOTK: NEW 3D Zelda open world but where link can use fuse to fuse objects to each other or his weapons to explore. All Nintendo has really done beyond story and artstyle is take a tool such as the Ocarina and replace it with another to do the same thing differently. Which is how every game is able to FEEL like zelda without giving you Ocarina Of Time again. Same goes for Mario 64: Traditional 3D mario game has mario platform his way to the Star. Basically the base foundation for future games to expand on. Sun Shine: Traditional 3D Mario but he uses a device called FLOAD to help platform to get the Shine sprite. Galaxy: Traditional 3D mario where mario platforms using the Luma spin attack and gravity to platform to get the star. ODYSSEY: Traditional 3D mario game where mario uses Cappy to platform his way to get moons scattered around. They all play the same with the one difference being the tools provided to the player. No complete restructure of the game, no genre swap, nothing. Mainline mario is and as always been a platformer. Zelda has always been an action adventure game exploring and solving puzzles. Unless you can name multiple mainline Zelda games that dropped all that and became a farming game, or turned into a turn base fire emblem game or something.
That doesn’t make sense if you want to play the same game again. You can replay it from old games. Look at the Mario Collection, they stay the same like before. It’s a waste. Maybe they might go to Nintendo Online. Not physical disc.
I loved this year of your content, rosters, character concepts and even sequel/new game concepts have been super enjoyable to watch for me personally but I'm sorry to hear it hasn't been too stable... Hopefully next year, with the rise of a new Nintendo console and all, there will be lots of success and satisfaction for the channel
I feel like the first year of Switch 2 will mostly be safe releases, there probably won’t be any out there bold risky releases until 1 or 2 years with the Switch 2 on the market. However I would love those third party ports such as Street Fighter 6, Yakuza and all of Kingdom Hearts.
I feel like they could absolutely do both, punch out doesn’t seem like it would take too long and take too many resources from Luigi’s mansion development
For Yoshi, I think a new Yoshi's Island game might be a good idea for Switch 2. Taking inspiration from Yoshi's Island DS, Yoshi could use the help of new babies, such as Baby Daisy, who can help Yoshi by opening flower platforms and Baby Waluigi, who can help Yoshi doing wal jumps.
I have an idea on how I could see a possible Luigi’s Mansion 4 play out: Previous LM games had different agendas that made them stand out from each other; for example, Dark Moon introduced the concept of exploring more than one mansion, and 3 takes place in a hotel, therefore giving us a tower-climbing experience within the game. How about for the fourth game, time travel could be the theme, combining Dark Moon’s multi-level missions with something new. Explore mansions inspired by the Medieval Age, ancient dynasty, far future, etc. I imagine gameplay where you would encounter one of Professor E. Gadd’s ancestors throughout each mansion aiding Luigi in his quest by offering him certain gadgets, upgrades and other stuff.
Even if Kirby’s new 3D title waits to 2026, I feel it will still get something in 2025. There have been some rumors of a Planet Robobot remake/remaster, so maybe that.
I'm SCARED as a bayonetta fan. Kamiya's departure, taking a chunk of Platinum away with him, the controversial... everything... about Bayo 3 and the complete hidden gem status and commercial failure of Origins (one of my GOATs), has me seeing a long hiatus ahead at least. Possible launch Animal Crossing is exciting though! very curious to see how it'll all play out.
@@HypeVoiceActing honestly, I feel like Bayo could be worked on by someone else. I can see a most likely future for the series in someone else's hands with supervision from other ex-devs with Nintendo money. Kamiya's been said to mostly be there doing oversight in 2 and 3, and from what's come out, his presence is a big reason B3 was so messy due in part to him being such a loose cannon. Someone more willing to cooperate who also understands the appeal of the franchise would be a good hand to pass the baton to IMO.
My biggest hope is that Doom: The Dark Ages will eventually get a Switch 2 port. Panic Button did an amazing job porting 2016 & Eternal onto the Switch, so I'm sure it would be doable.
id Tech is reportedly one of the most well-optimized game engines out there. I think if any current-gen third-parties have a legitimate shot at getting 60fps ports on Switch 2, it'll be games built on it like The Dark Ages and Indiana Jones (...maybe only if they put in the effort to make a version of the latter that doesn't require ray-tracing, though)
I would love go see an ARMS sequel, I remember Yabuki talking about it in the past, but that’s all up to him. He loves his game-you can see it in his interviews, and selling nearly 3 million is a pretty good start for a new IP. I’d like to see some combo routes added or even attacks with their non/extendable form part of it too-not to mention kicking is part of some character’s kits (Min Min, Helix, Misango and Lola Pop to be percise)
You know, there’s one franchise that has been a launch title for so many different consoles. PS1, PS2, PS3, PSP, PS Vita, Xbox 360, Nintendo DS and Nintendo 3DS, what franchise am I talking about? It’s RIIIIIIIIDGE RACERRRRR!!! If only Bandai Namco didn’t abandon the IP (and every other Namco franchise other than Tekken) in favour of a million anime games…
Before anything, I just wanna say I absolutely adore and always eagerly look forward to your prediction videos. You always have very solidly argued, reasonable, and interesting thoughts on these kinds of things. Even if they may age poorly, they’re very entertaining and are some of my most anticipated videos from your channel. As far as DK is concerned (since I have a clear bias here), while I’m not dead set on a year one DK game, I do think DK could be sooner than you think. Between all the stuff DK’s done recently (his role in the movie was decently big, Mario vs DK, Returns HD, the theme park expansion coming before a series like Zelda, and the cancelled DK Freedom game we’ve heard discussed) plus I remember vague rumblings of Nintendo wanting to bring DK in house and build him back up, I think DK’s got a good shot at a game… early-ish on Switch 2. But, of course, I’m hesitant to bet on DK being soon since a new game might be just starting development recently, if one is even in the cards. And, of course, DK is one of those series Nintendo has struggled in the past to know what to do with, so it could be waiting a while still even without all that DK focused stuff recently. As for Smash 6, I just have no clue when it could happen. Like, you’re right that, if it’s been in the works since 2022, 2025 isn’t unreasonable. But I also feel like it would be 2026 since Mario Kart’s far and away success would have that be a priority title to get out ASAP. I’ll just say by 2026, and be done with it. Maybe a definitive edition of Ultimate that just has all the DLC bundled in as a late Switch 1/early Switch 2 stop gap? Probably unrealistic, but that’s the only way I see Ultimate getting revived on the next console. And, even if I’m off base, I REALLY want a new Donkey Kong on Switch 2. Switch wasn’t as bad for DK as it could’ve been, since GameCube era DK was way worse for Nintendo not knowing where to take the IP, but that’s an entirely different topic. Still, it’s been way too long, I want a new Donkey Kong platformer.
I expect a lot out of the Mario series next year, even outside of Switch 2 stuff, since it'll be Mario's 40th anniversary celebration. While celebration years only really get one big game (i.e. 30th anniversary getting Mario Maker 1, 35th getting 3D All-Stars and 3D World + Bowser's Fury) and the next 3D Mario clearly being that main headliner, I can see them doing some smaller stuff as well (maybe it'll finally be time for Mario Party DLC?) and even making a special edition of the Switch 2 themed around Mario. In terms of major third-party games making the jump, I think Genshin Impact will be one of the games revealed in the new console's first major presentation. It was already announced for the original Switch way back in January 2020 prior to the game's release later that year, the devs confirmed they are still working on it back in 2022, and the website is still up to this day even when it briefly went offline earlier for a few days. As for other Hoyoverse games, I think HSR and ZZZ are likely (especially since the producer of ZZZ said they wanted to bring the game to all platforms prior to launch and said that he'd be happy to see it happen as a big fan of Nintendo), but it'd be much later than Genshin. It's also worth noting some of the publishers Nintendo singled out in their recent financial report regarding strengthening relationships, as while some aren't worth mentioning too much (pour one out for Idea Factory, who was singled out in the report by Nintendo of Japan followed by Nintendo of America and Nintendo of Europe forcing them to cancel the western release of the Neptunia Re;birth trilogy ports and the new Death End re;Quest entry), we do have some names with a lot fewer Switch games attached to them - namely From Software (who only have Dark Souls Remastered on Switch) and Cygames (who has three games on Switch, and of course Dragalia Lost on mobile). So not only do I agree that Elden Ring is likely, but I could see Granblue Fantasy: Relink getting a port as well (or potentially even a version of Dragalia Lost for the Switch, considering it'd be almost three years since service shut down for the mobile version). And regarding Smash, there's another aspect regarding Studio 2 / Studio S worth mentioning (that also managed to land me in a PapaGenos video when I pointed this out after they announced those spirit events earlier this year). The page has a section for job listings, and while the current version of the site encourages people to visit Bandai Namco's recruitment page to apply, the page initially had 6 job listings - three for the core team (Consumer Game Designer, Game Engineer, and Visual Artist) and three for contract work. The contract work positions were Game Designer and Background Artist for a 3D action game (the job listing does note that it is for a 3D action game project commissioned by Nintendo) and a Level Designer for a Consumer action game, whose job description lists "construction of stage specifications, level designs, etc. for side-view action games" and "negotiations and management with business partners who are collaborating companies." Which does sound an awful lot like Smash to me. As for what form it'll take, I'm leaning towards it being just a new entry built off the last one in terms of engine and assets, but with a roster scale closer to Smash 4 with some veterans getting some updates (i.e. VAs updating to their modern renditions like Kevin Afghani for Mario/Luigi/Wario/Waluigi and Alexis Tipton for Lucina, maybe some character design changes like Dedede taking on his 64 appearance since he's been using it in Forgotten Land and Return to Dream Land Deluxe, and hopefully some moveset refreshes for some of the cast) and a smaller newcomer list (likely on par with Ultimate's launch albeit with a few less echoes than Ultimate added) so that the team can add more side modes (hopefully).
Some one trying to predict what Nintendo does is nearly impossible cuz they can do just about anything no one expects! I'm the kind of person that'll wait and see lol. Also, we know that the next Smash Bros will have less characters than ultimate, so i do agree with you on it could show up sooner.
once next smash/possible smash ultimate deluxe port becomes real then i really hope that this time either RIllaboom,Meowscarada or possibly fully evolved grass starter of gen 10 that could be more popular and reached the same highest population as Charizard and Greninja. We needed a fully evolved grass starter in smash bros as a fighter for once as both Decidueye and Rillaboom failed to join for both base game and paid dlc along with fighter pass vol 3 not becoming a reality.
I wouldn’t get my hopes up on Astral Chain 2. Platinum Games seems to be in a really bad place right now. Not to mention that Astrain Chain director Takahisa Taura has taken Platinum Games out of his social media bios so who knows what’s up with that.
I personally don’t think Nintendo would wait with splatoon 4 until 2027, while not being huge in the west, splatoon is massive in japan. It has its own competitive esport scene, so i think Nintendo would want splatoon on switch 2 as soon as possible. Probably not gonna happen in 2025, but i could definitely see it in 2026 summer.
The problem is that there’s still a considerable amount of staff overlap with Animal Crossing. So while both can be in some form of development at the same time, only one of them can go full steam ahead at any given time. And between New Horizons’ explosive success & Splatoon 3 having only recently wrapped up a few months ago, I can’t really see EPD 5 prioritizing Splatoon over Animal Crossing again (especially when they may risk fatigue outside of Japan by releasing a third potentially-iterative sequel in a row).
What other stages are going to stay that are the best and some stages are the worst are definitely going to cut and also previous smash stages are returning too Staying : Kongo Falls Temple Fountain of Dreams Delfino Square Pokemon Stadium 1 and 2 Summit , Spear Pillar , Lumoise City, MK8D Mario circuit, 3DS rainbow road , PAC Maze , Garden of Hope , New Donk City , Great Plateau, Moray Towers , Spiral Mountain, Spring Stadium , Minecraft world , Northern caves , Hollow Bastion Mario Galaxy Worst stages are going to be cut : 75M , Great Cave , Pac Land
Definitely agree on SF6. Probably a “Super Edition” with the first two DLC seasons. Also would be fighting since Super SFIV was a launch title on the 3DS!
The Switch 2 will probably be revealed next month. Rumours say the console will a 9 in the launch title and that could be Mario Kart 9. It could launch with 32 tracks and no crossover characters and get DLC packs adding crossover characters and double up the tracks to 48. It’s weird that the Blue Falcon is in the series but Captain Falcon isn’t. So why don’t they come in form of the DLC? I want them to ditch the metal characters, Cat Peach, Tanooki Mario, Peachette, the Blooper Item and Coin Item, make the Koopalings alts for Bowser Jr., the baby characters alt’s for each other, Dry Bowser an alt for Bowser, bring the Fake Item Box, Mega Mushroom, Pow Block, Super Leaf and the Ice Flower back, add commentary as the Arcade GP series has it, bring Mission Mode back as it was supposed to return in Wii and add Professor E. Gadd since he was going to be in DS. By March 2026, we could get a new 3D Kirby game, possibly a Sequel to Forgotten Land. We could get to see playable Elfilin and Clawroline for the first time and they could bring back the Dream Palace Allies as well. Halfway through 2026, we could get Splatoon 4 and by the end of the year, we could get Super Smash Bros. 6 and hopefully they’ll ditch World of Light, bring Subspace Emissary back and update the movesets of some characters. We could get Super Mario Maker 3, Luigi’s Mansion 4 and a successor to Super Mario Party Jamboree by 2027 as it’s been 5 years since we had Super Mario Maker 2 and Luigi’s Mansion 3. They could add a Mario Wonder game style to Super Mario Maker 3 so 3D World isn’t just the extra game style and they could bring the Amiibo costumes and the Weird Mushroom back, for Luigi’s Mansion 4, the game could be in an Airbnb and we might get to see Luigi save Daisy for the first time in the series and for the successor to Jamboree, everyone from the previous Mario Party entries could return like how everyone returned for Smash Ultimate. By 2028, we could get a successor to Paper Mario: The Origami King as the TTYD remake came out this year. So why not another one in the next 4 years? I hope the console sells well. I probably won’t get it day one, or maybe not at all. I might wait for Smash 6 to be announced and then get the console with Mario Kart and get other games later on.
I just want a new Star Fox game. The series has a tendency to miss out on major consoles (Nothing on Wii, nor an official game on Switch), so hopefully they're able to cook up something GOOD to really show off the Switch successor. After all, Star Fox also has a tendency to be used as a showcase of what a new console can do.
I'm pretty sure whenever Kingdom Hearts IV releases, it'll definitely be on the Switch day one alongside PS5, Xbox and PC. And as an added bonus, we might finally have a physical port of the entire Integrum Masterpiece collection too.
I still love my switch and will keep playing on it. But here are my predictions Mario Wonder 2 Super Mario Odyssey 2 Pikimin 5 New Fire Emblem (have ideas to mix parts I love about Fates and Three Houses!!) New Mario Party Princess Peach Showtime 2 New Legend of Zelda New Star Fox (finally) Streets of Rage 5 Darkstalkers revival (want the franchise to make a comeback!) New Battletoads New Ace Attorney (perhaps the beginning of an Athena Cykes trilogy) New Scooby-Doo games with storylines Beyond Good & Evil 2 (eventually) New ARMS sequel (finally) New Pokémon region New Rampage (also want a comeback/revival) More MySims (more revamps and new games!) New Dead or Alive Space Channel 5 revival New Kid Icarus Ice Climber revival New Bloody Roar (finally) Final Fantasy X 3 New NiGHTS into Dream game (finally) Powerstone revival Maybe Powerpuff Girls game(s) with the second revival on the way
An Ice Climbers game would be cool to see. I envision it being a mix between ICO, Catherine, Abe's Odyssey, and It Takes Two. It should have co-op, have vertical puzzle platforming like Catherine, and be a cinematic platformer-adventure game like ICO and Abe's Odyssey. I'd also like for it to have a good story like the cinematic platformers mentioned. An Ice Climbers game could force the artists to really push the ice/winter/Arctic setting to its limit like Nintendo did the tropical setting in Super Mario Sunshine. Your other predictions are good, too.
If they make another Smash, it should be a reboot of sorts that changes movesets and some gameplay mechanics. I'd even prefer if Nintendo just partnered with someone and made a new fighting game based on their other properties. Pokken Tournament 2 could be cool; a Fire Emblem game made in the style of Soul Calibur would be nice, or a Zelda fighting game. Really, I'd love to see a Nintendo vs. Capcom game with tag-team elements that is done with Pocket Fighter's art style. In terms of other series, I want Wave Race to return since we haven't had one since Gamecube, and Blue Storm was underrated.
I think Mario Kart 9 is all but officially confirmed to be launching with the Switch 2, so that one's already a lock. Given how massive the Zeldas we've gotten on Switch are, I wouldn't be surprised if Zelda's presence on Switch 2 is a bit more subdued by comparison, at least during the first couple of years. Maybe they'll surprise us with a new 3D Zelda, but I feel like the most we'll get are either ports or smaller titles in the vein of the Link's Awakening remake.
From what I can comment on, the prospect of a new F-Zero is what intrigues me the most since it seems it would come later on, like at least after 2026. If in the process of deciding whether to greenlight a new F-Zero they actually used 99 as a sort of survey tool to see how people would latch onto a new game (kind of a stretch from my uninformed position, yes) and the results were positive, then they could have greenlit it only after a good time after release, say, several months to a year, to have relevant data. Now, the rest of speculation changes based on who is developing. If we assume that like GX it's also a Nintendo-Sega joint, we get a kind of probability boost, since a new F-Z lines up with Sega's current plans to reactivate their own dormant IPs. But I personally wouldn't count out it being an internal Nintendo production, which... is roughly a gut feeling I have, stemmed in part from 99 being one of the few in-house developed games in a good bit. A new developer, I'm not particularly confident on. I just feel like right now F-Zero is being given a perfect storm for a comeback: an opportunity for it to be a good showpiece game (OG showed off Mode7, X proved that they could run 30 concurrent players at 60fps on the N64, the GBA games are practically bursting out of the system, and GX still mostly looks good today as a GCN game), 99 happening, and Sega's revitalization plans give it an edge. However, this could only materialize after all due dev time is through, which meaning greenlighting could have been at late 2023 at the earliest, means a new game would arrive... not late, but 2027 would be generous. Which, they would probs prefer, to space it out of Mario Kart's shade. In the meantime, yeah, they could port/remaster GX, which. No notes. It would be a good idea. That game is great. (of course, that would be minimum like a year after the release of Mario Kart.)
On the topic of the kongs, maybe a remaster of DK64? With lag fix thanks to a more powerful console (and therefore no otherwise-required "compensation")? Would make things like, say Galleon Diddy Mechfish *_after_* buying Sniper from Castle Funky that much more tolerable. Would also allow monkey smash for NSO, and maybe (if allowable) integration with dk64randomizer. Ballaam and friends would approve, right? There is one problem. Rareware was absorbed by Microsoft since the release of DK64. Though that didn't stop Banjo from showing up in Smash, let alone his N64 games show up on NSO. Or Steve, toxic as he may be (at least for now -- your suggested moveset would easily fix that), since Microsoft also absorbed Mojang, who were responsible for Minecraft's creation.
I'm shocked you think a warioware is more likely than a rhythm heaven. Switch got 2. I feel like the company would probably do something different after, either warioland or rhythm heaven which we haven't gotten in 12 YEARS.
I think that the thing i want the most for switch 2 that it's unlikely its more spin off games from Nintendo ips that aren't Mario. I think that the only ones i can see are splatoon and maybe zelda.
I could definitely see Kirby getting remastered ports of the 3DS games to tide us over until the next big 3D title. Neither title heavily uses the dual screen, so it shouldn’t be too difficult. Konami is a third party that I wouldn’t count out on the action either, what with them trying to get back into the gaming scene. Getting Delta on the switch successor is certainly a possibility, but MGS4 and MGSV alongside volume 2 of the Master Collection are probably more likely. Could potentially see Silent Hill too.
I personally expect Monolith to do a new game and a remake/remaster, idk if we will get a new Xenoblade but I don't mind if they want to make a new IP, what I expect from them after that is to announce that they acquired the rights to Xenogears and/or Xenosaga and announce a remake/remaster alongside them, I highly doubt that either Square Enix or Capcom have any plans for those series and you know what's the deal with the Xenofanbase, they get what they want.
I think the Switch 2 will have a new DKCR. My theory is that Nintendo and Retro Studios are putting Country Returns on Switch so they can have time to work on a new DK game.
While this is most likely the case, and a new DK will probably release sooner or later on Switch 2, I have a feeling they'll drop the "Returns" subtitle. It didn't make much sense for Tropical Freeze, and it certainly doesn't anymore; DKCR will have had 3 releases by then, and it just isn't really a revival anymore. Whether or not they stick with the same style for the next DKC, they'll probably drop "Returns" from the title to keep feeling fresh, and not like "DKC *returns* for the *fourth time!*" EDIT: Completely forgot that Tropical Freeze *doesn't* actually have "Returns" in the title. The point still stands, though.
In all fairness, Retro hasn't been very active throughout the Switch's early years. We didn't hear about any of their newer projects until they were tasked to develope Metroid Prime 4.
Forever Entertainment is the one bringing Returns to Switch. But we have really good reason to believe a new entry is coming soon: - it's been rumored that Nintendo EPD Tokyo, the 3D Mario team, has had a 2D DK project in the works for some time now - in 2020, EPD Tokyo had job listings specifically for a 2D game; the only time they made one in the past was with Donkey Kong Jungle Beat - A redesigned DK logo debuted alongside the Mario vs. Donkey Kong remake, which doesn't make much sense as something they'd do for a series they don't have greater plans for (especially because it isn't a dedicated DK game and was made by NST instead of EPD) - additionally, Pikmin got a logo redesign as part of a significant push for that series Couple that with the fact that DK has been front and center in Nintendo's multimedia expansion, and I'm pretty confident we're seeing a new game for him early in the Switch 2's life
I'm excited for Switch 2 cause I'm hoping to see what new games Nintendo has in store for Switch 2 like the next 3D Mario if it's a sequel to Super Mario Odyssey if we see Cappy again, a new Mario Kart Game if it's called Mario Kart 9 or Mario Kart X, Luigi's Mansion 4, a new Donkey Kong Game if it's 2D and 3D and maybe they can finally bring back King K Rool since he was back in Super Smash Bros Ultimate, and from HAL whatever they're working on for Kirby they can show a sequel for Kirby and the Forgotten Land like having new copy abilities and upgrades, new Mouthful Modes, and new playable characters like King Dedede, Meta Knight, Clawroline, and Elfilin, and that fake leaked new 2D Kirby Game which is Kirby and the Celestial Stars and maybe showing us that new Kirby female character that looks related to Susie Haltmann or if she's Susie Haltmann's sister which is Polly. And hopefully, we can see the GameCube Library in NSO for Switch 2 as well. But yeah I hope Switch 2 in 2025 will be awesome to see what new games this new console has in store for us.
Well 😅 we’ve all probably know that 3 years Masahiro Sakurai announced that Kingdom Hearts Trilogy was ported on Nintendo Switch with Cloud Gaming Version which is weird that you mentioned Kingdom Hearts 3 to be ported with the full version of OG Switch.
@Delzethin You’ve probably recognized during the Final DLC Fighter Presentation with Sora From Disney’s Kingdom Hearts that Kingdom Hearts Trilogy is coming to OG Nintendo Switch™.
What does Smash Bros 6 is going to be like on the switch So you think Sakurai last game is Kirby Planet robo bot deluxe And Kid Icarus uprising deluxe on the switch
Golden Sun mentioned ! For real though, I can see it. Camelot HAS been very quiet for almost 4 years at this point, and they hired during this time, plus their website visual revamp puts a LOT of emphasis on golden sun (characters and djinn showing up everywhere)
New Game Wishlist: New Fire Emblem Warriors/Fire Emblem Fighting Game New Fire Emblem Mainline Title Dragalia Lost Versus New Super Mario Game New The Legend of Zelda Super Smash Bros. 6 New Animal Crossing Decapolice The Legend of Heroes Trails in the Sky 1st Atelier Resleriana Console Anyway, great list and merry christmas.
I have personal ideas for a new Star Fox game, though I’ll admit that they’re very unrealistic considering what we’ve seen Nintendo doing with the series ever since 64. But basically, I want a reboot that only keeps the SNES games canon, and by that I mean that I am including Star Fox 2. I really do believe a continuation of the timeline introduced with Star Fox 2 by giving the new members of the Star Fox crew a 3D debut would help give the series the kick it needs. As for how this new “Star Fox 3” game could work, I propose the idea of removing Slippy and Peppy from frontline duty and have them be supporting members. I know some people who love the main four cast members might be opposed to the idea, but it makes sense to me lore wise. Slippy’s value to the team lies primarily on his tech genius, and Peppy is an older character who plays a sort of pseudo-mentor role in the team, so I feel like it’d make sense for him to partially retire and have him act as a spotter of sorts. This leaves us with Fox, Falco, Miyu, and Fay as the main pilots. One thing I hope this new game gives us is confirmation on the surnames of Miyu and Fay. There are a small handful of sources online that give us clues. Firstly, thanks to a Reddit AMA from Dylan Cuthbert, the main programmer of the Star Fox games, we know that he named the characters Miyu Swift and Fay Sinclair in his mind, but these names conflict against another sources. We know that in the beta builds, initials designations were given to the characters. Miyu and Fay were designated MW and FO respectively. All of this information was compiled together by Reddit user Bialkmar. As for what I personally think, Miyu Wildcat was the name I always had in my mind, it makes the most sense to me. I can’t possibly guess what the O in Fay’s name stands for, but considering that Fay is (most likely) a Cocker Spaniel, her surname is probably something British or French sounding.
Not a fan of this idea at all. Just remake Star Fox 2 and have it either take place between Star Fox 64 and "Farwell beloved Falco" or after Command (I've learned to suck it up and deal with it). The biggest turn off of Zero was the potential idea of Zero retconning the gamecube games.
Am I the only one who predicts an action-oriented (not turn-based) RPG featuring Geno (from Mario RPG) as the protagonist? He deserves a Snufkin-like treatment.
Unfortunately, I think Baldur’s Gate 3 might still be a bit too tall of an order. Unlike games like Street Fighter 6 or even Elden Ring, BG3 DIDN’T get a PS4 release, which tells me it may be a bit too beefy to run smoothly on that level of hardware. They could still surprise me though, and I hope they do because more people having access to Baldur’s Gate 3 is absolutely a good thing
If F-Zero and Mario and Luigi can get a new game then Rhythm Heaven can get a comeback too, even the creator would willingly make a new game if there’s any major attention.
Honestly I disagree with the Splatoon and Animal Crossing predictions. I think we’re gonna get a Splatoon 4 *before* a new Animal Crossing. My logic is simply that Splatoon comes built in with a lot of FOMO due to the events structure, so it’ll be a lot better at moving consoles imo. Comparatively, Animal Crossing feels like a series that will flourish once everyone already has a console.
But at the same time, Splatoon being so iterative for two games in a row didn’t do the series any favors in terms of western appeal. And after how big New Horizons was, I’d imagine that EPD 5 would prioritize Animal Crossing first. Not to mention that Splatoon 3 *JUST* finished updates a few months ago & will be doing Seasonal Splatfest reruns for a least a year.

I really want to see a new Star Fox game and I would really love to see Star Fox Assault get a remake but Miyamoto just won't do it. Not because he hates the IP or anything but because his way he handles Star Fox is what prevents it from being great or even get a new entry. Instead of actually expiramenting with the gameplay (software) he focuses on making a game based on the hardware features functions. A philosophy thats so restrictive that we rarely see entries and when we do it has dumb controls like Star Fox Command or Star Fox Zero. Its also prevents new entries on SUCCESSFUL systems like the WII or Switch. The only way I can see us get a new game on the switch 2 is if either Miyamoto realizes that this strategy is going nowhere or the Switch 2 has an out there gimmick he can use.

Smash 6 newcomers after Sora will be those character are Octoling , Porky Minch, Rayman , Geno , Decidueye , Shez , Noah Xenoblade Chronicles 3, Bandana Dee and Angry Birds Red Chuck bomb Stella of the last newcomers And for DLC are Kamek , Adeline , Issac Spring Man Ribbon Girl , Ninjara , Marx Viridi Tom Nook Shadow EggMan , Paper Mario Ring Fit Trainer , Rex , Shovel Knight, Ninjala , Lloyd and Crash Hopefully they will no longer be Assist Trophy or Mii costumes of Smash 6
You forgot Waluigi. He’s a heavily requested character for Smash. He’s been an assist trophy since Brawl. Bandana Dee would be perfect since he’s one of the 4 main Kirby characters. Magolor would also be perfect since he had has own story in RTDLD. He may be another antagonist for Kirby, but Marx would also be perfect since he’s a boss in Ultimate and Ridley was a boss in Brawl. Dark Matter should also be another Kirby antagonist and Adeleine should be another Kirby protagonist. If Mario has Bowser as his antagonist, then why don’t Yoshi have Kamek as his antagonist?
I can see arms and astral chain becoming franchises and Nintendo will have a new IP to show off at some point. Probably by EPD and Monolithsoft will have something too (Probably a new RPG)
Lists of games that I want to see on Switch 2 4 new IPs Pokken Tournament 2 Arms 2 A Wrestling Game staring Waluigi Urban Champion Reboot Balloon Fight Reboot Joy Mech Fight Reboot A Zelda or Fire Emblem Fighting Game made from Arks System Works A Crossover game between Mario & Persona
In terms of Capcom? We don't know what the deal is with Ace Attorney is behind the scenes. Has Capcom been porting Ace Attorney like mad now because they've negotiated down a flat exclusivity contract down to timed exclusivity and AA7 will be on Switch 2 at launch and the other platforms a year later?
6:08 when Gen 9 started I figured it was a guarantee that Gen 10 would drop with the 30 anniversary, just makes so much sense
(also S&V was kinda lacking in all design departments from story to pokemon designs)
we shall see
Arms 2 I want the most. So much potential with that world and those characters, I really want that to be their third mainstay online competitive game, behind smash and splatoon of course.
If Nintendo has abandoned Arms then no sequel so no legs or arms 2
@@AnthonyMtheGamerArtistas if the devs cared about that.
I’m just praying it’s something Nintendo is sitting on and most of the development was done before Tsura left recently.
Honestly the Angry Birds still have a chance on Nintendo Switch I mean we see Trilogy on 3DS and Wii U but not on switch
Also background music for both pretty please.
Multi media support for things like Netflix, max, prime etc would be really good too. The switch pretty much only has Hulu and UA-cam :/
@@parker8784isn't that on these streaming services?
The overlap is mainly for the graphical teams so like art and designs and whatnot by the way
@@olimar_09 They went from 39% to 32.5%, so it wasn’t a massive reduction.
That’s STILL reduction anyway. Stop complaining! Just be thankful and that’s enough.
If they want more less or whatever, let them be. That’s up to them.
@@wd7666 True, it’s just that I’m hoping for the reduction to be more pronounced to the point where both can coexist without cutting the other short.
@@chiquita683Mario Odyssey did it, and it became one of the best-selling switch games
@@chiquita683 Mario's always had a title at around the start of a console's life. Heck, Super Mario World WAS a launch title for the SNES

Thx for the articles :}
MERRY CHRISTMAS, DELZETHIN!!!
A Tears of the Kingdom type Star Fox game would be cool.
Imagine building your own ship and traveling as Fox to different planets, all the different terrain to showcase climbing and swimming.
New weapons and a reason to update him in smash bros too
That doesn't sound like Star Fox :/. Something more like Star Fox Assault/ Star Fox 2 is what I vastly perfer over "Star Zelda No breath in space".
@@kurokamina8429the reason why it doesn’t sound like star Fox is exactly why I want it. What they are currently doing with him is stale.
@@ShamarTalley
Ocarina of Time: Traditional 3D Zelda game with a back and forth time traveling mechanic to explore and solve puzzles.
Wind Waker: a Traditional 3D Zelda game with a vast ocean and an instrument that changes the wind to explore and solve puzzles.
Twilight princess: a Traditional 3D Zelda game but link can turn into a wolf to explore and solve puzzles
Skyward sword: Traditional 3D Zelda but link can do a Skyward attack and fly an open sky to explore and solve puzzles.
Same goes for Mario
64: Traditional 3D mario game has mario platform his way to the Star.
I'm hoping Nintendo will import the Star Fox Gamecube games over. I really want Adventures and Assault get some love and time in the spotlight.
And A remake of Star Fox Zero, but with normal controls this time
@@rogsilva82 At most, I could see them packaging that as a bonus in an Adventures remake.
Instead of Luigi's Mansion 4 I would rather see Next Level Games working on a new Punch Out
I have to agree with that!
I feel like they could absolutely do both, punch out doesn’t seem like it would take too long and take too many resources from Luigi’s mansion development
@@megastarwarsrocks99 (EXTREMELY LOUD INCORRECT BUZZER SOUND)
I want to see both a Luigi’s Mansion 4 and Punch Out
@@megastarwarsrocks99 I was replying to YOUR comment, dummy.
Man, I love watching your stuff
I also hope for Dragon Quest 12, Visions of Mana, and native versions of the Kingdom Hearts collection.
I have an idea on how I could see a possible Luigi’s Mansion 4 play out:
Previous LM games had different agendas that made them stand out from each other; for example, Dark Moon introduced the concept of exploring more than one mansion, and 3 takes place in a hotel, therefore giving us a tower-climbing experience within the game.
All I want is for 3DS games to get a port, remake, or sequel on Switch 2 like Ever Oasis game
Keep up the excellent work! You rock man!
As a fellow Bayonetta fan, her future is concerning... 😞
I mean, Kamiya's working on a new Okami game
So at least we're getting SOMETHING in exchange lol
I would honestly see Luigi’s Mansion getting ported over to switch to help buy some time for the new installment
I kinda want to see a Granblue Fantasy game for the switch, something like Persona Q or a Warriors title.
I'm still surprised Rhythm Heaven has had no Switch games
Because RH’s creator spent a large chunk of the Switch 1’s life battling cancer (he won, if you’re wondering).
@@Neoxon619 Is he still making games?
You know, there’s one franchise that has been a launch title for so many different consoles. PS1, PS2, PS3, PSP, PS Vita, Xbox 360, Nintendo DS and Nintendo 3DS, what franchise am I talking about? It’s RIIIIIIIIDGE RACERRRRR!!!
If only Bandai Namco didn’t abandon the IP (and every other Namco franchise other than Tekken) in favour of a million anime games…
I wouldn’t be surprised is smash 6 doesn’t come out til 2027 or later, imagine the amount of content they’d have to develop.
For challenger approaching, I got some ideas for characters: klonoa, bass, shadow, tails, knuckles, shantae, scizor, sceptile
I don’t care about anything at the moment besides Mario kart 9. As perfect as 8 is, I am curious to see how they can make 9 any better
I am getting desperate for a new Wario Land
A single-player tactical Splatoon is a really interesting idea. The main reason I didn't get into Splatoon was because I'm not a multiplayer player.
A new Super Mario 3D game, Metroid Prime 4, Zelda TOTK HD and Mario Kart 9.
There’s something bittersweet as the Switch steps out of the spotlight. I had a lot of fun with the Switch and it feels sad to say goodbye to it.
A new bowser game… fingers crossed
What other stages are going to stay that are the best and some stages are the worst are definitely going to cut and also previous smash stages are returning too
Staying : Kongo Falls Temple Fountain of Dreams Delfino Square Pokemon Stadium 1 and 2 Summit , Spear Pillar , Lumoise City, MK8D Mario circuit, 3DS rainbow road , PAC Maze , Garden of Hope , New Donk City , Great Plateau, Moray Towers , Spiral Mountain, Spring Stadium , Minecraft world , Northern caves , Hollow Bastion Mario Galaxy
Worst stages are going to be cut : 75M , Great Cave , Pac Land
I wanna see whatever Sakurais next project is really soon, especially if its not Smash.
But here are my predictions
Mario Wonder 2
Super Mario Odyssey 2
Pikimin 5
New Fire Emblem (have ideas to mix parts I love about Fates and Three Houses!!)
New Mario Party
Princess Peach Showtime 2
New Legend of Zelda
New Star Fox (finally)
Streets of Rage 5
Darkstalkers revival (want the franchise to make a comeback!)
New Battletoads
New Ace Attorney (perhaps the beginning of an Athena Cykes trilogy)
New Scooby-Doo games with storylines
Beyond Good & Evil 2 (eventually)
New ARMS sequel (finally)
New Pokémon region
New Rampage (also want a comeback/revival)
More MySims (more revamps and new games!)
New Dead or Alive
Space Channel 5 revival
New Kid Icarus
Ice Climber revival
New Bloody Roar (finally)
Final Fantasy X 3
New NiGHTS into Dream game (finally)
Powerstone revival
Maybe Powerpuff Girls game(s) with the second revival on the way
Damn that's more of a wishlist
A new NiGHTS game ain’t happening even tho I really want one to happen
Especially since sega is reviving a lot of their older IPs
@lemon5000-tj6nv have little hope it can happen someday
Yessss new Delz vid
I NEED TOMODATCHI IN MY LIFE
Why do people think Metroid Prime 4 won't be cross gen?
Give me Golden Sun 4 and my life is yours
I’m guessing Black and White 3 is going to happen on Switched 2
Super Smash Bros 6 Is a crossover Mix caracthers with Music Variation in Switch 2
- Donkey Konga 4
- Super Mario Metroidvania
- Luigi's Mansion 4
- Star Fox Assault Remastered
- Pokémon Mystery Dungeon 5
- Pokken Tournament 2
Im hoping for Genshin Impact, Okami 2, Onimusha 3 and 4 remakes, P3R, Monster Hunter Wild, Fantazio and many more
I'm shocked you think a warioware is more likely than a rhythm heaven. Switch got 2. I feel like the company would probably do something different after, either warioland or rhythm heaven which we haven't gotten in 12 YEARS.
That team hasn't done warioland before, so u doubt they'd do a platformer out of nowhere
I honestly would love to see a starfox entry
Whether or not they stick with the same style for the next DKC, they'll probably drop "Returns" from the title to keep feeling fresh, and not like "DKC *returns* for the *fourth time!*"
EDIT: Completely forgot that Tropical Freeze *doesn't* actually have "Returns" in the title. The point still stands, though.
In all fairness, Retro hasn't been very active throughout the Switch's early years. We didn't hear about any of their newer projects until they were tasked to develope Metroid Prime 4.
@fastvelocitor Tropical Freeze doesn't have Returns in the name, it's just Donkey Kong Country. Maybe you're talking about the "Country" part?
@@speedslider3913 No no, you're right, I just misremembered. My point still stands though; the "Returns" name should be dropped going forward.
Forever Entertainment is the one bringing Returns to Switch. But we have really good reason to believe a new entry is coming soon:
- it's been rumored that Nintendo EPD Tokyo, the 3D Mario team, has had a 2D DK project in the works for some time now
- in 2020, EPD Tokyo had job listings specifically for a 2D game; the only time they made one in the past was with Donkey Kong Jungle Beat
- A redesigned DK logo debuted alongside the Mario vs. Donkey Kong remake, which doesn't make much sense as something they'd do for a series they don't have greater plans for (especially because it isn't a dedicated DK game and was made by NST instead of EPD) - additionally, Pikmin got a logo redesign as part of a significant push for that series
Couple that with the fact that DK has been front and center in Nintendo's multimedia expansion, and I'm pretty confident we're seeing a new game for him early in the Switch 2's life
I'm excited for Switch 2 cause I'm hoping to see what new games Nintendo has in store for Switch 2 like the next 3D Mario if it's a sequel to Super Mario Odyssey if we see Cappy again, a new Mario Kart Game if it's called Mario Kart 9 or Mario Kart X, Luigi's Mansion 4, a new Donkey Kong Game if it's 2D and 3D and maybe they can finally bring back King K Rool since he was back in Super Smash Bros Ultimate, and from HAL whatever they're working on for Kirby they can show a sequel for Kirby and the Forgotten Land like having new copy abilities and upgrades, new Mouthful Modes, and new playable characters like King Dedede, Meta Knight, Clawroline, and Elfilin, and that fake leaked new 2D Kirby Game which is Kirby and the Celestial Stars and maybe showing us that new Kirby female character that looks related to Susie Haltmann or if she's Susie Haltmann's sister which is Polly. And hopefully, we can see the GameCube Library in NSO for Switch 2 as well. But yeah I hope Switch 2 in 2025 will be awesome to see what new games this new console has in store for us.
Great video !
I don't think we'll get another smash game until 2028
We are definitely due a new Animal Crossing game before the next Splatoon game.
What does Smash Bros 6 is going to be like on the switch
So you think Sakurai last game is Kirby Planet robo bot deluxe
And Kid Icarus uprising deluxe on the switch
The last Kirby game Sakurai created was Kirby Air Ride, which was over 20 years ago. It would be pretty cool if it gets a remaster!
I’m betting on the launch to be Mario Kart 9 or a 3D Donkey Kong Country. I don’t think it’s gonna launch with a 3D Mario!
Golden Sun mentioned !
For real though, I can see it. Camelot HAS been very quiet for almost 4 years at this point, and they hired during this time, plus their website visual revamp puts a LOT of emphasis on golden sun (characters and djinn showing up everywhere)
Studio S is almost certainly Bandai Namco's support studio for Nintendo projects, not their Smash team...
I want WarioWare, but I feel like I'll have to wait a while if the switch2 isn't too different from the switch (like it was with the 3 DS).
The new switch franchise will be named:legs
New Game Wishlist:
New Fire Emblem Warriors/Fire Emblem Fighting Game
New Fire Emblem Mainline Title
Dragalia Lost Versus
New Super Mario Game
New The Legend of Zelda
Super Smash Bros. 6
New Animal Crossing
Decapolice
The Legend of Heroes Trails in the Sky 1st
Atelier Resleriana Console
Anyway, great list and merry christmas.
It'd be cool to see a new Nintendo Land game
Again we should be getting a Metroid 6 someday.
A new Rhythm Heaven Game, please
Yes, please!
@Pretty please with a cherry on top
Last Rhythm Heaven was in 2015 with Megamix on 3DS which will soon be 10 years ago in 2025
Oh god… (I’ve just been a recent Rhythm Heaven fan)
I could see them put Hey’ Pikmin on the console.
Switch 2 has some promises, hope they get some good games.

The only way I can see us get a new game on the switch 2 is if either Miyamoto realizes that this strategy is going nowhere or the Switch 2 has an out there gimmick he can use.
god please let one be mario maker 3

And for DLC are Kamek , Adeline , Issac Spring Man Ribbon Girl , Ninjara , Marx Viridi Tom Nook Shadow EggMan , Paper Mario Ring Fit Trainer , Rex , Shovel Knight, Ninjala , Lloyd and Crash
Hopefully they will no longer be Assist Trophy or Mii costumes of Smash 6
Assistance trophy and mii custom are popular not going anywhere.
Definitely going to be another 3D mario
I heard mk9 will be a thing but we have to see
I can see arms and astral chain becoming franchises and Nintendo will have a new IP to show off at some point. Probably by EPD and Monolithsoft will have something too (Probably a new RPG)
Lists of games that I want to see on Switch 2
4 new IPs
Pokken Tournament 2
Arms 2
A Wrestling Game staring Waluigi
Urban Champion Reboot
Balloon Fight Reboot
Joy Mech Fight Reboot
A Zelda or Fire Emblem Fighting Game made from Arks System Works
A Crossover game between Mario & Persona
In terms of Capcom? We don't know what the deal is with Ace Attorney is behind the scenes. Has Capcom been porting Ace Attorney like mad now because they've negotiated down a flat exclusivity contract down to timed exclusivity and AA7 will be on Switch 2 at launch and the other platforms a year later?
