You gotta go play early access. They've integrated the fact that the game isn't complete yet into the story, so playing it in early access feels like you're getting a Chapter 0 of the story you won't be able to experience once the full game releases. Same here. That game was almost a perfect open world sci-fi experience to me, but the incomplete story holds it back. I really hope they add to it and give it a proper conclusion this time.
Arlo, two things, 1. You will be fine to just go ahead and play DOOM The Dark Ages without playing Eternal 2. That said, PLAY ETERNAL. Its absolutely perfect. Incredible gunplay and set pieces.
@pobbityboppity1110 i get that you didn't like it, but it's at least as critically acclaimed as the 2016 game. Metroid Prime 4 is by far at the top of my list. I know you're disappointed that it's not a Switch 2 exclusive, but as someone who partly bought the Switch for this game, I'm exactly the opposite. I'd be LIVID if they had backed out of releasing it there XD especially since I probably won't get the second Switch for at least a year, don't need another console. No guarantee if it's releasing next year, but if Hades 2 comes out of early access, I'll immediately buy it on whatever it releases on. Absolutely fell in love with the first game as my first roguelike, can't wait for more!
I'd recommend playing the third Professor Layton game, The Unwound Future, before New World of Steam releases. NWoS is continuing off the end of that game - plus you can buy it for mobile so it's easily accessible. The games 4,5,6 trilogy were prequels and haven't been re-released so don't know how relevant those will be to the new game (just saying Level-5, a Layton game collection of the six would be nice). Said somewhere else that my main "hype" is for Switch 2, so for games it's more "Yeah, I'll play that." Most were already covered here: Metroid, Layton, Pokemon. Though one that wasn't so I'll mention it is the Trails In The Sky remake. I've heard a lot of praise for the Trails games but also that They Should Be Played In Order, and since they're remaking that first game that makes for a convenient place to try the series.
Just popping in because Trails in the Sky (specifically SC) is my favourite game ever. The remake looks incredibly different gameplay wise, but hopefully the story and characters will be intact, and that's really what you're playing it for. Make sure to just talk to NPCs. Basically all of them have dialogue which updates after every major story beat, and it means that there's effectively a whole bunch of completely mundane side stories, just to make the world feel more real. For example, the first shopkeeper is called Rinon. He runs Rinon's General Goods, and has known Estelle (the protagonist) since she was a kid. He always makes sure to reserve a copy of the Liberl Times for her, and to get in the newest set of Strega brand sneakers, because he knows that she collects them. Rinon's mum, Bloom, wants grandchildren though, and as such keeps attempting to set up dates for Rinon, who does happily go along to them, but just has to explain to his date that he's just simply not really interested. You can also talk to his dates who recognise that he's just a super nice guy. There are so many similar sub-plots like that which you would completely miss if you don't talk to NPCs. One thing that I'm slightly worried about is the localisation, simply because the original localisation was so high quality, that there's a lot to live up to. The original took a lot of creative liabilities, adding a lot of really fun and creative stuff. For example in the English localisation ONLY, whenever you check a chest that you've already opened, it gives you a joke, or a story, or a password that you can type into a hidden part of the game's website to get some cool art. They also gave Estelle a whole bunch of sass and really fantastic one-liners, which were completely absent in the Japanese version. I believe that there is actually a Japanese mod that retranslates the English localisation because it's just so good. I'm really hoping that it lives up to the original localisation, but given how much it deviated in terms of script, there's no guarantee. If you do want to play the originals, they're normally silly cheap on Steam, and you can run them on basically anything. Whatever laptop you have will work absolutely fine, unless it's actually from the 90s.
Mentioned this in a previous video, but since you asked about indies specifically: Alabaster Dawn. Granted, all we're expecting this year is a demo early and _maybe_ early access later, but the team behind it has a _very_ good track record with the hidden gem that is CrossCode--probably my favorite game of all time. This new game will be a similar style of action-RPG, but in a completely new world, featuring an updated artstyle that is poised to fix one of CrossCode's few negatives: Sketchy depth perception.
Completely understand that feeling of having been excited for too long and losing interest. I've had that happen to me many times. I actually hit that point with Silksong a while back. Not to say I won't play and likely love it when it comes out, I just am no longer actively excited for it.
I'm doubtful that very many games will get revised editions for Switch 2, it'll probably just be games coming out near launch that get dual-console release
I am hyped for whatever Evening Star (the Sonic Mania and now Penny's Big Breakaway team) is going to make in the future, it's probably too soon for them to show anything new but I look forward to their next thing, whether it's out next year or later
I’ve got a pretty hefty backlog so I’m not really anticipating new games too much. I am super excited to finally get around to Echoes of Wisdom though. That’s probably #1 on my hype list.
My only issue going into the next year is that the type of games I gravitate towards do not have a solid release date. Either way I am so happy with the games that have released this year and always looking forward to whatever this medium brings us!
I'm really keen for Big Walk, which is made by the developers of Untitled Goose Game. It looks to be completely different though. We've only got one trailer, from last years Game Awards, and from what I can tell it's just you and some friends walking around a country side hanging out, but there may be more to it.
The third Professor Layton game is a gut punch of emotion. Definitely worth playing if you can. The second trilogy is definitely something you can play or skip at your discretion, but Unwound Future is SO good I gotta suggest playing it first.
*putting on my clown makeup* rly excited for silksong and mina the hollower! *taking off my clown makeup* and itll b rly nice to have a Modern version of dragon quest 2, and i love the original as well
Xenoblade X, Trails in the Sky 1st, Metroid Prime, and the Balatro Update are the ones I’m looking forward to the most. Honorable mention to Pokémon ZA, Deltarune 3 4 & 5, and Rise of Hydra
Excited to play Deltarune chapter 3&4, Silksong, (if that decides to come out in 2025) Earthblade (Metroidvania by the Celeste devs, again if that decides to come out in 2025 since it has no confirmed release date)
Games I’m excited for Bits and Bops -if you’re a rhythm heaven fan, you’ll want to check this one out. Rhythm Quest- satisfying pixel tunes tied only to two buttons. This Dead Winter- fox exploration game that looks EYE WATERINGLY GORGEOUS.
I am SO immensely hyped for Prime 4. It is the game I have always wanted since the end of 3 but I didnt expect it to actually be announced so many years after. When it happened I was so in awe, not knowing how many more years I would still have to wait. I still remember scrolling ENDLESSLY through discussion forums for Prime 3, I wanted to see or hear every persons ideas and just soak up the anticipation and the hype. Now I am reliving these moments of my childhood again, just this Time on youtube, watching analysis Videos, discussions, etc. I just cant put my excitement into words.
Backlog games I hope to finally get to in 2025: Fallout New Vegas, God of War Ragnorök, Baldur's Gate 3, and Kirby Mass Attack! New games I'm looking forward to that you didn't mention: Fable, The Outer Worlds 2, Ghost of Yōtei, and Tales of the Shire. But I'm really looking forward to seeing what first party Nintendo games will be added to that list.
The two indies I'm looking forward to are Not Only Nine, a 3D RPG about a cat rescuing his owner in the afterlife, and ENA: Dream Barbeque, a surrealist and vaporwave adventure game sequel to the animated series on UA-cam
Definitely keep an eye out for The Big Catch!! There’s an expansive standalone demo that came out this year that completely sold me on it. Picture like… a platformer that’s like windwaker mixed with shadow of the colossus and bowser’s fury, but with the progression of a dark souls game?? It’s got wonderful music and character design, and it absolutely sold me on the full release which is slated to come out 2025.
Found you from your blender video and now here, I literally loaded the whole comment section and ctrl+f to see if anyone else mentioned this game I love that you're as excited for The Big Catch as I am xD
There's loads coming out this year that I'm excited about - Fantasy Life 2, Professor Layton, Tales of the Shire, the new Rune Factory...there's a lot!
Right now Fantasy Life is right at the top of my hype list. The first one is so crazy good and was a great sleeper hit on the 3DS became it came out so late in the life of the system. It was amazing and I can’t wait to have more. It’s been over 10 years!
Just a cool but a bit clunky looking game i'm looking forward is Shadow Labyrinth. It's a new "pac-man" game. For a bigger context, it's a game inspired by the secret level episode that was about pac-man. The game most likely will have a different kind of story, with similarities of course, because otherwise the secret level episode would just spoil the game.
Spoilers for the episode - Perhaps the respawn mechanic will revolve around another clone being released and the player taking control of that one, thus incorporating that aspect of the episode into the gameplay.
Monster Hunter Wilds is probably going to be that one big AAA game that I play next year, the rest are gonna be indies. I'm hyped for Subnautica 2 but it's releasing in early access, so I might hold off on that one until it's fully completed. There's a little indie game called Roots Devour that I'm looking forward to, it's similar to Cultist Simulator which is an all-time favorite of mine. Grime 2 has no release date but _might_ come out next year, and I love the first Grime so I'm hyped for that, it's basically a Metroidvania Soulslike. And finally, if I can shoot for the moon here, if Nintendo could just suddenly drop Wind Waker on the Switch in 2025 I would be ecstatic.
My personal most anticipated of 2025: 1. GTA 6 (though I doubt it actually releases next year) 2. Hades II 1.0 (I have not touched early access, though there is a chance 1.0 doesn't release next year either. OG Hades took 2 years.) 3. DOOM: The Dark Ages 4. Metroid Prime 4: Beyond 5. Ghost of Yotei 6. Mafia: The Old Country (Gives me The Godfather Part II vibes) 7. Mouse PI for Hire (Mix of DOOM and BioShock in an old school animation style. Really unique looking) 8. Metal Gear Solid Delta 9. Hell is Us 10. Kingdom Come: Deliverance II HM: Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra (I need to see more, but I have a little bit of faith with Amy Hennig at the wheel)
I love that Pokemon ZA was the game that basically confirmed the Switch 2 was coming out in 2025; here's hoping Nintendo used the Switch 2 delay to let GameFreak actually finish the game, unlike Scarlet/Violet
I'm SO hyped to play Ender Magnolia. Ender Lilies helped me get through the wait for Silksong and Ender Magnolia looks like Ender Lilies with even more QoL improvements and a new world and story.
Last Defense Academy is a game by the same people who made Zero Escape & Danganronpa. The storytelling in those games leave a LOT to be desired, but they're definitely unique visual novels. I'm mostly interested that this is a tactics game, I'm just a sucker for those.
Games I want with a "2025" release date: - Deltarune - Agent 64: Spies Never Die - Mohrta - Deep State - Unbeatable - Fragile Reflection - Metro Gravity - Shadow Labyrinth - MOUSE: P.I. For Hire - Ooga - Hyperbeat - Infinity Knights: Xross Games I hope will come out in 2025: - Hollow Knight: Silksong or Crowsworn - Mario Kart 9 - Fire Emblem 17 (yes we're still at 17, Engage was a spin-off) - new Mario Tennis with a focus on online multiplayer, with unlockable outfits - Pipistrello and the Cursed Yoyo - Gunmetal Gothic - Compound Fracture - Star Garden - A Frog's Tale - Abyss X Zero - Rhythm Quest - Alkahest - Popucom - Duel Corp (out of early access) - Path of Exile 2 (out of ea) - Gloomwood (out of ea) - VOIN (out of ea)
Not 100% sure if the game is releasing next year, but I've been SUPER excited to play The Big Catch after playing its demo a few months ago. That demo may as well have been its own game; it took me like 10 hours to beat. Super fun, highly recommend to anyone who loves platformers.
I have a good feeling about Nightreign. The fact that it’s made in house and is Fromsoft’s idea does a lot to get me hyped for it. Coop rogues are generally very very fun so having one that plays like my favorite action RPGs? I am SO in.
Arlo if you’ve never played anodyne 2 it’s absolutely one of the most magical games ever, you don’t need to play the original. Just watch a trailer or see a screenshot and you’ll see what I mean. Their studio is working on a new game that should be dropping this year, keep an eye out!
This is a weird one Arlo, but I think you should try the Demo at least for Bakeru. It’s in a weird spot, as it’s a goofeel game, but not a Nintendo owned title. I think it might scratch that itch you have for Nintendo to create something that is just a single player adventure. It technically came out this year though - thought you’d be interested
There is so much coming out in 2025 I completely forgot about DOOM, I have no idea how I'm gonna make time for it all because Monster Hunter is gonna take up the bulk of my year
Arlo this game came out this year but you need to check out this indie called Nine Sols. It’s a 2D metroidvania soulslike and the combat is absolutely amazing, I’ve been addicted to it the past couple of weeks and it’s become one of my favorite games of the year.
1. Avowed 2. Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 3. Metroid Prime 4 4. Slay the Spire 2 5. South of Midnight 6. Suikoden I & II HD Remaster 7. Civilization 7 8. Fable 9. Doom: The Dark Ages 10. The Outer Worlds 2 I'm sure there will be a ton of Switch 2 games on my list once they're revealed. There's also games like Perfect Dark & whatever Atlus might announce that could release in 2025, but we'll just have to wait & see!
My predictions: - Switch 2 announced in January and the console releases between late March and late May (going out on a limb here I know). - Metroid Prime 4 announced as a cross gen game and released on both consoles within a month of each other, but maybe on the same day. It will be the biggest launch game of Switch 2. - 3D Mario will be a holiday title. - Some other game will also be a big launch title, either Pokemon Legends Z-A, Animal Crossing, or some other new thing (3D DK or Splatoon 4?).
For me - Of the games that have been announced for 2025? Metroid Prime 4, Professor Layton, and the Early Access for Paralives. ...And... Hey, maybe Silksong will release but I'm not holding my breath.
Wow, that's literally my exact list. I won't hold my breath either but I think after all this time Silksong will come at least by the end of next year, I mean come on, but again we don't know.
Two games I'm super excited for are Monster Hunter Wilds and Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii. I got into Yakuza by playing Like a Dragon. I had only planned on playing that one entry, but then I got more and more curious about the rest of the story. So, I took the plunge and found an amazing story that was a perfect blend of serious and silly! Infinite Wealth was my GOTY for 2024, and I was wondering if they'd take us back to Hawaii at some point. Turns out they are, and only a year after! RGG Studios are busy, busy bees. They crank out games at a rate that shouldn't be possible, and yet they're all so high-quality! Can't recommend the series enough! Like a lot of people, I started playing Monster Hunter at Worlds. I used to main Gunlance, but then I switched to Insect Glaive. My buddy Seth Lowell inspired me to try Charge Blade this go-around. It looks pretty complex. I'm also hoping that my favorite monster, Tobi-Kadachi makes a return. He's had perfect attendance since his debut in World, so realistically I shouldn't worry. But there's that little nagging "what-if" in the back of my mind. What I should really be hoping for is for his Viper variant to return. He showed up in Iceborne and never returned. A lot of people didn't like him, IIRC. Maybe it's because he dealt paralysis and poison damage. I dunno, but fingers crossed regardless.
I am SUPER hyped for Pokémon Legends: Z-A and Crimson Desert! Looking forward to seeing how Avowed comes out, I probably won't be able to play it for a while since I don't have an Xbox.
I'm excited to play console games again! I had surgery on both my arms and hands this year, and while I can do keyboard and mouse games for a bit I still can't use a controller for long. By next Fall I should be all healed up and ready to catch up on everything I've missed! :D
First of all, you absolutely need to go back and play 2023's _Armored Core VI._ It may not be _Soulsborne,_ but it's FromSoftware magic through and through. I have 450 hours in _Elden Ring,_ but speaking completely without question, I love _Armored Core VI_ even more. As such, as far as 2025 games go, one of my surprise most anticipated games is probably the second mech game I'll play after _Armored Core_ made me fall in love with the concept, _Mecha BREAK._ It seems to be a multiplayer-only game, sadly - either a 3v3 or 6v6 extraction shooter - but part of the point of an extraction shooter is that you're fighting AI enemies alongside other players, and its sheer visual spectacle and _Doom_ -like level of frantic, teeth-gritting action have me tremendously eager to take the plunge on it in spite of its multiplayer-centric formatting.
I would say for lesser known titles that may hopefully come out next year, I'm looking forward to DRG: Rogue Core, Slay the Spire 2, Platypus Reclayed, and Lumentale. I'm also looking forward to MH Wilds, though I'm not sure if my PC can handle it based on what people who played the demo said. Pokemon Z-A I have my eye on too, but thanks to the "quality" of the most recent game and TPC's way of answering to competition, it is a very critical eye. In terms of future game updates, Palworld has a Terraria collab next year and I am looking forward to it :3
I don't know for sure if any of these are coming next year, so I will just give my list of everything I'm looking forward to regardless of release date. Little Devil Inside, Mina the Hollower, Post Trauma, Judas, Bye Sweet Carole, Tormented Souls 2, Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound, Metroid Prime 4, Silent Hill F, Professor Layton NWOS, The Big Catch, Fruitbus, Sword of the Sea, System Shock 2 Enhanced, Earthblade, No Rest for the Wicked, Big Walk, Okami 2, Eldin Ring Nightreign and Dragon Quest 12!!
Thank you! For mentioning Layton! Sometimes its feels like Im the only one hyped for it!! 🎉 I think alot of people have forgotten how good those games were on the DS.
My most hyped is probably legends ZA! I knowww I shouldn’t expect a lot from Gamefreak but the fact that this is the first Pokémon game they’ve taken an extra year to work on in forever gives me a lot of hope that they’re looking to avoid the pitfalls that SV and PLA had! Even so, I love both of those games dearly so it won’t take much to please me
Little Nightmares 3 is being developed by a different studio than did the first 2. So you should also add Reanimal to your list as it’s from the studio that made Little Nightmares 1 and 2.
I hate it when people want games to be on previous gen consoles and then complain about the performance. It hinders the growth of the new generation of consoles. There needs to be a real reason to get the new console. All these new games being only on the new hardware would help prove what the system can do and would help get more people to purchase the new system. I still can't believe the amount of games in 2024 almost 2025 that are releasing on both ps4 and ps5. And then people are like "PS5 has no games why would I upgrade"
In addition to several of the ones on your list, I'm hyped for Pathologic 3, The Mermaid Mask, and Rain World: The Watcher, as well as Alabaster Dawn and Earthblade.
Definitly excited for Metroid Prime 4 and Switch 2 as well 😆. Besides that, other announced titles that i'm looking forward to are Star Overdrive, Xenoblade X and Trails in the Sky 1st remake. Some of the stuff that got announced at the Game Awards like Ninja Gaiden and the sequel to Okami, really excited for that espicially Okami. Going trough some more backlog when i can, with physical on Switch and digital on Steam. Bunch of third party and indie RPGs that i wanna check out. Don't know if i'll finally get around playing Elden Ring myself, as i'm thinking of picking up and playing Skyrim for the first time. Also collecting more Switch games that i'm still missing, doing some dubbeldipping and ports from Wii U. Avowed looks really cool too, but i'm gonna wait and see if it's really good. If it is, i either might pick it up short after or at some point later in the future. I might be forgetting other stuff, but that's my overall list. 2025 could become a really fun year for gaming 😁.
Yeah I could definitely see the next 3D Mario being within the first year of Switch 2, I’d love to see what they’ll do with 3D Mario next and as well very excited for Switch 2 in general!!
Super excited for Mermaid Mask. SFB’s had a great couple of years and I’m very happy everyone is loving Crow Country but nothing comes close to their Grimoire games for me.
I get the chance to say this since this game is on the Switch now just recently! Im so hyped to play TheBunnyGraveyard 2, sequel to one of my favorite indie horror games that came out last yeaR, and recently it got ported to nintendo switch and with an update that ultimately completes the game with SO many animated cutscenes and improvements overall of the game, the game is pixelart animated btw! but in a really unique style that i love :D Its genuinly one of the coolest games i've played and its only getting bigger from here i need more people playinG IT!!!
Arlo. My muppet in christ. When Miyamoto and Aonuma showed us that BOTW wii u gameplay way back in 2014, we had no idea that it would also be coming to their next console and it did because like... duh? So idk how you think Metroid Prime 4 will only be on Switch 1
Saw the title and thought he was hyped for 2025 different games
Same lol
Honestly, same! 😂
The big fat arlo review where he reviews 2025 games for not doing any big fat reviews in like 3 years
If he just read them off a list I’m sure the length of the video would be about right too 😂
No you didn't.
Had a dream last night that Arlo was being chased by Nintendo of America and escaped across the Canadian border
What did he do to provoke them? Ask for a Metroid Prime 2 remaster?
@@thatdanjamesguy.330he did the big no no. He asked for a metroid prime 2&3 comvo

Dreams ARE kinda nonsensical yknow.
@LethalLuggage Yes there is a Nintendo of Canada. They have a headquarters in BC.
I still want my 4 hour pikmin 4 review video

Sadly Game Freak will never have the same amount of time to polish an experience unlike Nintendo’s in-house dev teams

Sounds very similar to the Breath of the Wild situation
Metroid Prime 4, dear lord. I've waited for so long....
If Prime 4 doesn't have an enhanced Switch 2 version either at launch or within a few months I'll be immensely disappointed
17:03 It's a big what now? 🧐
Assterisk
I hope any next gen updates for games like Tears of the Kingdom are free
I'm doubtful that very many games will get revised editions for Switch 2, it'll probably just be games coming out near launch that get dual-console release
It’s like an Arlo ADVENT calendar I can always look forward to until the end of the year.
I love this. ^^
I am hyped for whatever Evening Star (the Sonic Mania and now Penny's Big Breakaway team) is going to make in the future, it's probably too soon for them to show anything new but I look forward to their next thing, whether it's out next year or later
Your mind goes blank when people ask you about stuff you know about? Good to know I’m not the only one.
I’ve got a pretty hefty backlog so I’m not really anticipating new games too much. I am super excited to finally get around to Echoes of Wisdom though. That’s probably #1 on my hype list.
Yeah same! I still have to finish TotK! but I bought the Zelda Switch Lite!
*taking off my clown makeup* and itll b rly nice to have a Modern version of dragon quest 2, and i love the original as well
and earthblade! the second games of indie darlings
I am all here for the 2025 gaming hype train :D Can not get enough speculation/wish-list videos from Arlo
My personal hype list:
• New Professor Layton game
That's it, thats the list so far.
Surely 2025 is the year silksong comes out…right? 😅
Yes, it is actually!
It's release date is going to be September 31st.
@@Jack_TheSkyWriterthere’s only 30 days in September next year, you warm toilet seat
yes, that is indeed the joke
HUH SHAW HUH HUH SHAW ADINO HUH SHAW SHAW GARAMA ADINO SHAW HUH SHAW SHAW ADINO ADINO HUH GARAMA SHAW

Games I’m excited for
Bits and Bops -if you’re a rhythm heaven fan, you’ll want to check this one out.
I wish I could go back and play New Vegas for the first time again. Enjoy that one!
GTA VI
Jaca is here??!
Found you from your blender video and now here, I literally loaded the whole comment section and ctrl+f to see if anyone else mentioned this game
I love that you're as excited for The Big Catch as I am xD
@pokefreak2112 im sooooo excited for it
5:15 my feelings on Silksong tbh
Spoilers for the episode -
Perhaps the respawn mechanic will revolve around another clone being released and the player taking control of that one, thus incorporating that aspect of the episode into the gameplay.
I’m pretty sure the episode was inspired by the game
@@jomama4237 Those episodes usually take a long time to make, so it’s hard to tell which came from the other
Monster Hunter Wilds is probably going to be that one big AAA game that I play next year, the rest are gonna be indies.
With Retro‘s tech wizardry I‘d honestly be surprised if Prime 4 was NOT cross-gen. Especially with the series’ history of being graphical showcases.
My personal most anticipated of 2025:
1. GTA 6 (though I doubt it actually releases next year)
2. Hades II 1.0 (I have not touched early access, though there is a chance 1.0 doesn't release next year either. OG Hades took 2 years.)
3. DOOM: The Dark Ages
4. Metroid Prime 4: Beyond
5. Ghost of Yotei
6. Mafia: The Old Country (Gives me The Godfather Part II vibes)
7. Mouse PI for Hire (Mix of DOOM and BioShock in an old school animation style. Really unique looking)
8. Metal Gear Solid Delta
9. Hell is Us
10. Kingdom Come: Deliverance II
HM: Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra (I need to see more, but I have a little bit of faith with Amy Hennig at the wheel)
Very solid list
This video last year was how I found out about Animal well.
I love that Pokemon ZA was the game that basically confirmed the Switch 2 was coming out in 2025; here's hoping Nintendo used the Switch 2 delay to let GameFreak actually finish the game, unlike Scarlet/Violet
Doubt it. Gamefreak is known to make games late in the cycle and take time to move to next console. Look at bw2 and usum
What? It never did that. If you're talking about the simultaneous release tagline that's in reference to its worldwide launch.
@@metro9640 no, i don't mean the Tagline. i meant the delay
Games I want with a "2025" release date:
- Deltarune
- Agent 64: Spies Never Die
- Mohrta
- Deep State
- Unbeatable
- Fragile Reflection
- Metro Gravity
- Shadow Labyrinth
- MOUSE: P.I. For Hire
- Ooga
- Hyperbeat
- Infinity Knights: Xross
Games I hope will come out in 2025:
- Hollow Knight: Silksong or Crowsworn
- Mario Kart 9
- Fire Emblem 17 (yes we're still at 17, Engage was a spin-off)
- new Mario Tennis with a focus on online multiplayer, with unlockable outfits
- Pipistrello and the Cursed Yoyo
- Gunmetal Gothic
- Compound Fracture
- Star Garden
- A Frog's Tale
- Abyss X Zero
- Rhythm Quest
- Alkahest
- Popucom
- Duel Corp (out of early access)
- Path of Exile 2 (out of ea)
- Gloomwood (out of ea)
- VOIN (out of ea)
Not 100% sure if the game is releasing next year, but I've been SUPER excited to play The Big Catch after playing its demo a few months ago. That demo may as well have been its own game; it took me like 10 hours to beat. Super fun, highly recommend to anyone who loves platformers.
I'm looking forward to Dynasty Warriors Origins, it really looks like the best Warriors game yet!
Literally the only youtuber I've heard saying that Metroid Prime 4 is coming to Switch and not Switch 2. There's absolutely no way.
Professor Layton is my favourite game series of all time. I cannot wait to see what they do!
Arlo! Pokemon ZA was never announced! It never existed! Don't believe it, Arlo! IT WAS ALL A FEVER DREAM! ARLO!!!
I bought 3 new games this year. 2024 might be the worst uear we’ve had for gaming since I’ve been really into it
This is a weird one Arlo, but I think you should try the Demo at least for Bakeru.
It’s in a weird spot, as it’s a goofeel game, but not a Nintendo owned title. I think it might scratch that itch you have for Nintendo to create something that is just a single player adventure.
It technically came out this year though - thought you’d be interested
There is so much coming out in 2025 I completely forgot about DOOM, I have no idea how I'm gonna make time for it all because Monster Hunter is gonna take up the bulk of my year
6:00 "getting tiered of waiting"
I wait for beyond good and evil 2 since I was twelve! 🤣
Arlo this game came out this year but you need to check out this indie called Nine Sols. It’s a 2D metroidvania soulslike and the combat is absolutely amazing, I’ve been addicted to it the past couple of weeks and it’s become one of my favorite games of the year.
15:50 we kinda actually do know that the next system will be another switch cause Nintendos President said it will be.
1. Avowed
2. Clair Obscur: Expedition 33
3. Metroid Prime 4
4. Slay the Spire 2
5. South of Midnight
6. Suikoden I & II HD Remaster
7. Civilization 7
8. Fable
9. Doom: The Dark Ages
10. The Outer Worlds 2
I'm sure there will be a ton of Switch 2 games on my list once they're revealed. There's also games like Perfect Dark & whatever Atlus might announce that could release in 2025, but we'll just have to wait & see!
for me it's The Big Catch
it will be the best 3D platformer ever made in the same way that Celeste became the best 2D platformer ever made
The funny thing is any day now Nintendo could announce 2-6 more games that will come out this year and be on this list.
My predictions:
- Switch 2 announced in January and the console releases between late March and late May (going out on a limb here I know).
Arlo, this is the 7th week in a row you've uploaded "2025 prediction list" in class.
This isn’t a prediction list. These are already confirmed
I’m hyped for FF city of wolves
For me - Of the games that have been announced for 2025? Metroid Prime 4, Professor Layton, and the Early Access for Paralives.
...And... Hey, maybe Silksong will release but I'm not holding my breath.
Wow, that's literally my exact list. I won't hold my breath either but I think after all this time Silksong will come at least by the end of next year, I mean come on, but again we don't know.
My name is Professor Lleyton
If I could have one video game wish come true, it would be that an Odyssey sequel turns out to be the big 3D Mario for the new system.
Come on Arlo... you know you want to join us... Xenoblade yearns for you Arlo
Dragon Quest 1 & 2 HD 2D remake is all I'm really looking forward to.
Hoping for... Ocarina of Time/Majora's Mask remake.
I am SUPER hyped for Pokémon Legends: Z-A and Crimson Desert! Looking forward to seeing how Avowed comes out, I probably won't be able to play it for a while since I don't have an Xbox.
I'm so excited to play Fantasy Life II: the girl who steals time, hope the 2025 sticks and it doesnt get pushed back again
I'm excited to play console games again! I had surgery on both my arms and hands this year, and while I can do keyboard and mouse games for a bit I still can't use a controller for long. By next Fall I should be all healed up and ready to catch up on everything I've missed! :D
I am INCREDIBLY hype for SUBNAUTICA 2 next year
Yes you will, Arlo
00:45 I'M CALLING IT NOW
The game I'm most hyped for in 2025 is Avowed. Really hope they nail the release, no major bugs.
In terms of future game updates, Palworld has a Terraria collab next year and I am looking forward to it :3
I have a really good feeling about Prime 4, I can't wait to see more!
The original Professor Layton trilogy is on Mobile for like $10 each and are great ports!
Yes thank arlo for mentioning me!
Talk about Sakurias mystery game he's working on. What do you hope it is? I hope it's a Kid Icarus Sequel or Reboot
Even so, I love both of those games dearly so it won’t take much to please me
Really looking forward to you enjoying LN2 & LN3 and maybe even Very Little Nightmares and becoming entranced by the lore and all the fan theories 😁😁😁
And oh yes, the new doom trilogy is also a gem 😊
Little Nightmares 3 is being developed by a different studio than did the first 2. So you should also add Reanimal to your list as it’s from the studio that made Little Nightmares 1 and 2.
I'm really excited for Ghost of Yotei, and Mariachi Legends which is a new indie Metroidvania inspired by Mexican folk lore.
Wow baby steps! Bennett foddy is my fav video game director, so same! Also really looking forward to wanderstop, don’t know if thats in the video yet
Yeah I could definitely see the next 3D Mario being within the first year of Switch 2, I’d love to see what they’ll do with 3D Mario next and as well very excited for Switch 2 in general!!
I'm most anticipated for Deltarune chapters 3 & 4, since toby said that they are coming out 2025 in the latest news letter
I have more confidence in Prime 4 releasing in 2025 than GTA VI lol
Super excited for Mermaid Mask. SFB’s had a great couple of years and I’m very happy everyone is loving Crow Country but nothing comes close to their Grimoire games for me.
I get the chance to say this since this game is on the Switch now just recently!
Im so hyped to play TheBunnyGraveyard 2, sequel to one of my favorite indie horror games that came out last yeaR, and recently it got ported to nintendo switch and with an update that ultimately completes the game with SO many animated cutscenes and improvements overall of the game, the game is pixelart animated btw! but in a really unique style that i love :D
Its genuinly one of the coolest games i've played and its only getting bigger from here i need more people playinG IT!!!
Arlo. My muppet in christ. When Miyamoto and Aonuma showed us that BOTW wii u gameplay way back in 2014, we had no idea that it would also be coming to their next console and it did because like... duh? So idk how you think Metroid Prime 4 will only be on Switch 1
I’m literally drooling over Mina the hallower from yacht club games
