For sure, that's a weak bad beat jackpot. Was playing in Black Hawk Colorado a few weeks ago and their bad beat jackpot was over 500k. They even had a mini bad beat jackpot that was like 25 k that someone hit on the table i sat down to play at a few hours earlier :(
@@BenDeach Not misleading. We are sad it wasn’t higher for you! Incredible to see though! Hopefully it gets enough views to pay you out the real bad beat jackpot 🎰 we all know to expect. Good job getting footage!
@@BenDeach Not misleading at all. It creates suspense and makes for better content. Winning 5k on that hand feels like a slap in the balls though as the one in montreal has gone over a million several times and starts at like 50k or something . Happy to see you win it but I’m tilted seeing the amount you got.
I've played A LOT of casino poker in my life, and I've been at a bad beat jackpot table once.... It was at Commerce in LA. Aces full beat wins the progressive jackpot, which was 6 figures. I was just at the table. AA vs 55, flop came A55. I got somewhere around what you did just being at the table. Loser with AA won $50k+.
So sick that the bad beat is only 5k 😭😭 and actually my first and only ever Royal Flush happened in a live game at Bally’s Poker room in Atlantic City just as I turned 21 lol(I’m 25 now)….I couldn’t believe it haha, I just kept looking at my cards and looking at the board over and over and ended up winning that massive hand plus the high hand $300 bonus for that hour soooo yea +$1150 in just over an hour of play in one of my first live poker sessions ever!

This vlog of yours brought back such good memories. I've been at the table twice both times I was sitting between the two people that had the bad beat hands. Being at the table the first time one 2400 for each player and the second one was 3,400. I've had three royal flushes two times they were within a half an hour against the same guy and it was awesome. I split the high hand jackpot with myself they were paying it out every half hour. And then your hand 9 through King of clubs was my revenge hand against a guy who had beat me two times flopping trip aces against my trip Kings once and trip eights the other time. And he smacked the aces on the table just to rub it in. I wish I had room to tell you the details of my revenge hand but they were fabulous. Going to the river there was seven guys in the hand with $14 in the pot and in the end it was an $1,100 pot. He had the ace of clubs. Anyway thanks for the memories

15 years for me and I have never hit one. Had a few straight flushes but thats about it. Here in Crown Casino Melb Australia if you flop a royal in a live game theres a progressive jackpot that often goes off around the 50k mark.
Yes, his 9 royals compared to your zero (over a decade of active play) offers an excellent insight to the extent by which variance (run good/bad) operates. Probabilities tend toward being way more clumpy than most imagine. And we simply can't play enough hands in our lifetime to truly see things 'balance out' given that poker is a game of very large numbers. Certainly, some may enjoy some balancing over say a couple of million hands. But for many, even that won't do.
Hey Ben, i have never commented to you, your vlog is right at the top of my poker vlog list. Excellent is an understatement, I cut my teeth on poker stars starting in 2003 (moneymaker volcano). And have been winning and loosing ever since lol. You life experiences and mine mirror each other in ways. But keep up the phenomenal vlog, and those Straight flushes, and maybe a Royal one day. Was justed in vegas and beat a guy on the river with a full house over his Non Straight Ace high Spade Flush. NICE
Damn Hollywood Casino here in PA had a quad ten qualifier a few years ago, quad Aces lost to the 69 of hearts and it was over 700k at that point. 5k is a disappointment!
Tipping Bad Beat ~ Waiting for a 1/3 game to start, I sat down at a 4/8 limit game. Not knowing that there was a bad beat, I won the bottom half of of a $5,000 bad beat for $2,400 and tipped $100. I had no idea what I should have tipped and still don't. But talk about lucky…
Thanks for the video. I'm sitting at home on my day off mad because I can't go and play poker. Congrats on the jackpot. I've been playing poker for 18 years and I've hit a royal flush once.
My luck is either at the top, like as high as it can go, or the bottom. I hit the winning hand of a bad beat on the very first hand of a brand new game for 6500 on a 1-2 game while I was waiting for 2-5. I've also lost massive pots more times than I can count to 1 outters.
In my first year playing live poker at a casino, I saw a player at a 3-6 limit holdem game hit two - that’s right, TWO - royal flushes within one orbit of hands. And to top it off, his only opponent in the hand at showdown - and the same player both times - had the top full house each hand.
One magic night in Edmonton, Canada. We hit the bad beat twice in about 10 hands! The first one capped at 50000$ and the second 46000$. The first one I went runner runner quads against a flopped quads and the second one, the same guy that had quads against me hit the big chunk when his AA lost to KK on a AKK flop. That guy made 35000$ that night.
Oh Man! That was a killer run you had! Straight Flush over straight flush, you have to memorialize this on video. Congratulations on the about 2600 (?) dollar win (half from your end of the jackpot)!
I'm 36, never had a royal and never been at a bad beat table. Have had king high straight flush and quad aces. I'm including all the poker games I've been playing since I learned how to play at 10.
I played a number of years in AC when they had some of the biggest bad beat jackpots ever. Back then only the table got to split it and then they changed it to divide it up among all 4 of the Harrah's properties. I got one tiny room share in about 5 years of steady play. I knew a gal who had like 6 big table shares and a $100K+ losers share too. Some people have all the luck.....
Was playing last week and reminiscing about my BB jackpot story at the table. Me and one other called a raise and went to a 10-4-4 flop which gave me quads. I obviously checked, and it checked around. Turn 5 and checked again with last to act putting in a bet that I called. River was another 5 and the fun was on as the other player had 55. I would later find out the original raiser had A- 10 and checked the flop, which I considered a small miracle because pocket 5's would probably have folded to a bet. Anyway, my portion was $32K and some change, and makes for a good story to tell.
Congrats on hitting the Bad Beat Jackpot! I do hope the Peppermill does other nice promos with the additional rake they take for the BBJ since there's no way it's getting hit that often.
22 years of play, 2 Royals, and once beat by a Royal with quads. All online for those hands, two of them within 24 hours of each other. It's about the time I quit online play afterwards.
Nice hit. Sucks the bb jackpot was miniscule. Played 15 years at lucky chances, had quad 10 beat by a royal in 4/8 O8 and got paid out 6k. The Holdem bb is usually 100k split. Go Giants!
Nice Vlog Ben. Nice that you hit a straight flush vs straight flush. Too bad that the BBJackPot is so low. At Pokerplayground in Montreal starts at 100k and it is progessive hitting 1 million or more often enough.
When tipping on any hand, I usually take into consideration whether there is a shuffle machine or not, in this case, if it was the dealer who washes the cards before placing them in the shuffler, he effectively played a role in the outcome, hence, gets a better tip.
20yrs ago as a newbie playing at New Horizons in South Lake Tahoe I flopped a royal flush Q10 clubs! Would feel way better now being a better player and if it was in a better casino, spread limit then I did get capped all the way to the end though!
Question: I play in a home game with a limited cap of $200. It actually plays like a 2-5 game as you could raise to $20 and have 4-6 callers. How would you adjust a game for not being able to buy in deep? Keep up the great videos!!
Nice…hi Ben… I hope it happen again but I hope you hit the Bad Beat here in “California Grand”here in concord….jackpot starts at 70k and it doubles in certain hours and days…take care always.
ive been playing casually for about 15 yrs myself and i have yet to see a royal live or online. only ever seen one straight flush and i flopped it. the guy had ace high flush and i easily felted him.
I’ve been at tables where we hit the bad beat 2x. Both times in the early 2000’s. The first time, one of the guys at the table was in the casino on a fake ID and the casino voided the bad beat. They caught him when we were filling out the tax forms. Had they not taken the kid away, he would have had a 2nd bad beat. Then, I hit the ass end of a straight flush with 6d5d at a $5/$10 table, lost the hand, but won the big end of the BB jackpot. The jackpot was a bit over $100k. Since I lost all of my stack, and they pay those by check, I only tipped what I had left in my wallet. I would say how much I tipped, but I’m too embarrassed.
I have made 15 Royal flushes. And I was the winner, like you, in one bad beat jackpot. I had Pocket 7's and the Flop came 7 7 10, turn 10, river 10. Oddly enough I was in late position and never bet, only called bets on flop and turn until the river when the old man led out for $20 and I knew I was beat by 4 10's and was somewhat in shock thinking to myself that I was going to bet big on the river, until the river hit and I realized that I just lost the hand and couldnt believe it, but was glad the bet was only $20. Jackpot was only $1600.00. I got $800.00. Another time, I got room share with 48 other people in a bad beat jackpot that was $89,000+. The loser had quad queens and the winner had a straight flush. That was on a Sunday and the jackpot got hit again on Tuesday and again on Thursday and again on the following Sunday. Four times in eight days believe it or not. I was there for three of them.
Not poker-related, but since you're a 9ers fan like me, I wanted to ask your opinion. What do you think of Trey Lance so far, and when do you think he will take over as the starter?
I could talk for ten minutes about this. I’ll admit I wanted them to commit to Jimmy for the next five years. But given the fact that they decided to take a QB in this past draft, he was the guy I wanted out of the 3 that were rumored to go there. Ton of potential
@@BenDeach I felt the exact same way! However, with Jimmy getting hurt last year, again, it really showed his limitations. As for Lance, I loved him from the moment I saw his highlights. Glad it was him the whole way. At the end of the day though, I just want them to win, and I think they can accomplish that with either one. It's going to be an exciting season!
Huge Niner fan here. Wanna hear your thoughts on Jimmy G and Trey Area. Who you want to start and why? Also, I've never been to Reno and considering going. Ceasers player so my options for the week are Circus Circus, Eldorado, and Silver Legacy. Any recommendations on any of these properties? Like to stay up pretty much late night but will definitely hit up the Peppermill. Thanks for any info or advice.

I hit the losing end of a bbj and received about $5500 … never had winning end or table share before. So I guess I’m lucky that I was on the losing end but felt mine was kinda low too. And it was at Hollywood park casino near LAX.
Awesome bad beat. I do hate the fact that the peppermill changed it to a cap of five grand. Wendover peppermill said it was because they were paying too many people out on a regular basis lol.

Glad it was him the whole way. At the end of the day though, I just want them to win, and I think they can accomplish that with either one. It's going to be an exciting season!
The bad beat at the fire keepers in Battle Creek Michigan is at 140,000 plus
In the Cleveland casino where I play, that would have been a $300 k bad beat, 40/20/40
Feel bad to say but my local casino bbj is between 250k and 1mm once it was 1.5mm
If you want to get to the playoffs , Jimmy g , if you want a chance to win in the playoffs , Trey Lance
Still jimmy for now. My guess is he will win most of his games. If that’s not the case - then make the move
@@BenDeach hope you're right but seems like he's losing confidence in limited action. He had a nice scramble against the bolts but other than that, not much. Pumped for the season. Impressed with Trey and Huf outta USC. I think the steal of the draft.
That 9 of clubs was pure yahtzeeville
Sickest bad beat ive ever seen!!
K high SF is my highest hand in live poker.. seeing you hit it, and hit a bad beat jackpot, is almost as good.. ;-)
Once I was on table where dealer put out royal on the board lol That casino had high hand promotion too. Everyone got $500
I hit the losing end of a bbj and received about $5500 … never had winning end or table share before. So I guess I’m lucky that I was on the losing end but felt mine was kinda low too. And it was at Hollywood park casino near LAX.
Hell my table share of a bad beat was 9k. Still good the loosing hand got something.
Awesome bad beat. I do hate the fact that the peppermill changed it to a cap of five grand. Wendover peppermill said it was because they were paying too many people out on a regular basis lol.
You have two straight flushes on camera.
wow
I've never seen even one in my life
Good job on the lodge live stream.. oh wait… 🤣🤣🤣
Is that the new parking garage next to the va hospital at the beginning ? I helped build that
No but that sure is an interesting guess. Never drove down Locust St on a vlog
Great vlog.
Congrats on the jackpot but that’s a horrific payout.
What a hand !
Shout out to Serb Marko
Man I know what you mean, finally hit my first Royal Flush 3 weeks ago to share the news with the guy who I have been playing w for years and he said " really your first one, I've hit 8 of them and 2 in one day before" all I can do was 🤣
Db great content buddy
Ben, this was hilarious 😂, great jokes
Thanks Cesar
Only 25 I feel like that’s a bit low with you winning the hand and getting the extra 1200
When there is a bad beat do players need to add the chips to their stacks or can keep separate?
Most places you can put it in your pocket
