Just picked this game up for $14 in the Steam sale, and so far while there’s plenty of early access missing features and areas where polish will clearly be added, so many of the fundamentals are just so, so good. It actually is bizarre how much better a space sci fi game this seems to be than Starfield in so many ways, off a single person. Crazy, and I hope he continues to push forward, because this is shaping up to be a really fantastic game.
This game is amazing and I know the focus isn't the same as starfield but for me I'd love a similar ship building system. Everything else has made me question my decision on getting starfield early access instead of this
yeah, so for the new players, don't waste your money trying to upgrade the starter ship. in a short time of doing the main questline, SPOILER: you will soon get access to your dad's ship. upgrade that. it also has much better weapons than the starter ship. also, you can sell the starter ship once you get dad's ship. also, the ship paint jobs available are based on the ship tier you have. each time you upgrade ship tier, you unlock another color choice.
Jsut picked up the game and its awesome. Well done to the single dev hats off man. With that said its still in early access and still needs polish in areas but im having a blast and if its just gonna get better then im all for it
Glad you are doing a new run ....i have not been playing for a long time and this helped me to get into it again ..well done ..thx and greetings from Germany !
I think it's really cool that games can do the voice A.I. thing even though it hasn't been perfected yet. Maybe in the future they can get the cadence and emotion in check so the voices are believable. Looking forward to seeing the update. I don't own the game but i've been following the progress:)
yep, put more people out of work. just let ai do it all. no more servers, cashiers, actors, factory workers etc....... honestly ai, robots will be the end of society as we know it. the rich will have no need for 70-80% world population.... they just need farmers, and techs. and ofc they will always want to fight over land because of egos. always wanting more etc.. so have to have military
Got this a long time ago and it was looking good. I was having a hard time with my joystick key binding stuff. I thought I'd wait for some fixes. Maybe it's time to check it out again.
if you have a ship with the engine boost perk you can use alt to drift and activate the boost to maintain the speed instead of just having a quick 1 second boost
I started a new save, haven't explored everything yet but hopefully they come out with some rounds of bug fixes. Can't wait until you get to the conquering system part...I want to see what your thoughts are compared to the old way of doing it.
Wow! Thanks for the video. I bought this game, but I put it aside a long time ago and forgot I had it, and now I want to play it again. I wished I'd bought a bunch of copies and gave them to my friends rather than waste money on Star Field. Live and learn.
Hope you enjoy it, more to come! If you get stuck come on back and I might have a fix. Plus next week's videos have a bunch of new content the developer just put in.
i wanted to see about the update added. nice to have good playthrough and explanation.. i never played it, owned it for several months. wanting to play. but afraid to play EA games, till they are filled in more. i knew from vids it be grindy game. i didnt want to dump 100+ hours into it for update to change and make me restart lol. that said this new update from patch notes sounds fun.
Helo! What will be the largest class of ship, or will the player be able to command more than one ships? Will there be some kind of tactical view for when the player operates more than one ship?
The current mining system is a bit tedious. It would be nice to fire up automated mining drones to do all the mining for you like Avorion or some other titles with such features. A specialized spaceship should be equipped with such drones and even some defensive drones to make a possible escape with hostile ships in promixity.
I agree, those are a mile wide but and inch deep in content, versus a small indie developer whose work might be a little rough but still smashes the competition.
This game from what I've seen on steam looks really good, especially for 1 developer. Though being EA I've not yet bought it, so not sure when it will be fully released.. Before playing #2 do I need to play #1 first ?
Nope, we are 3 quarters through the game with my current walkthrough and we are just finding out what happened to the character we played in the first game. We play as the son in this one. Developer has finally brought more help in so hopefully development should be a lot smother going forward.
10:37 Holding the CTRL key down does nothing for me. I can't find a way to zoom out the ship camera in 3rd person view. Tried holding CTRL key down and scrolling the mouse doesn't work, any ideas?
The mechanic you mentioned near the beginning where the higher your pilot rating, the more ships cost ... that's intended? It doesn't make sense from any point of view. Is there any lore explanation?
Nope, one of the few poor decisions the Dev. has made. I think his intention is to have it where you spend time working on mining and raiding not just flying your ship.
That's what I'm wondering - maybe it is just OFFERING better ships, so they cost more. I wonder if there's any documentation on thi like from the dev or someone making actual comparison screen shots.
Better, you can adjust the distance to your ship so you can see more on screen. The breakdown of weapon systems is easier to follow. Then there is the 2000% more content without crappy puzzles. Then their are your fleets and your squads that follows you in space on the ground. Oh SB2 has ground combat and a host of other features. Best part....only 19.99 USD.
I'm currently looking at this game on the steam store because it is currently on sale. And I'm really itching for a space game. Star Citizen seems unfathomable to me (I spawned in a room and wandered around a bit not knowing what to do) Elite Dangerous I played when it came out, and played it right up until they stopped supporting the console release, tried getting back into it on PC but there were issues with character migration from console to PC and I didn't want to start the *absolutely horrendous unforgivable grind* from the very beginning so I gave up on that. No Man's Sky is fun, but is a little too cartoonish and numb feeling for me to really get into. idk, $14 for this game seems like its worth the chance. Guess I'll finish your vid before making a decision. EDIT - also can you turn the voices off in this game? I don't mind reading. It'l take me back to my Morrowind days. There's no better voice acting than what's in your head.
Well, space games you say.... Between the stars - just about all text quite the story. I have a playlist with the full game. Then if your looking for brand new and free there is a huge demo for Underspace. It comes out in early access next month and I will cover that. Oh and there is a playlist for Spacebourne 2 that has about 60 or so videos in it that can help you if you get stuck. I started the series over because there have been a lot of changes with the big 4.0 update.
All of a sudden the most recent reviews have been mixed, while the feedback has been stellar across the board. Sketchy situation, wouldn't be surprised if it's bethesda devs leaving mixed reviews on purpose, very conveniently placed around release as well.
Do you know if the missionTHE BIG METTING is moving forward? I am on the waiting part for the meeting but the mission is not activated, I have version 4.0 of the game but nothing happens
Maybe, I don't know if it is a stable enough game for them to move over to a console. Current consoles are powerful enough but there are a lot of hoops to jump through.
my only but big turn off is lack of controller support, specifically when using controller piloting it's very dificult to line a shot because yaw speed is f*ck you fast
Going to sit down one day now that the update is here and jump in. But even now the only complaint that I have is the character creation model. No matter what I come up with, it's always gonna be some angry.European dude from the eighties. Need more variation..

He does impressively well. I just hate being held hostage by the story. Should be quick tutorial, open universe, then decide what you want to do… and do it your way.
why the f##k have you started again? we've seen all this, played all this, why didn't you pick it up where the main story line ended? what an anti-climax
When you change the last half of the game you tend to break it. I attempted my old saves and it is just a mess. Not worth the aggravation for you or me.
@@TheRevPlaysThanks for saving me the headache of loading up my old save. I'm a bit bummed of having to start all over again, but from what I hear they reworked a bunch of the missions so I'm looking forward to trying the new systems.
Go to the elevator or worse case go to your games saves and hit the last save, it should kick you to when you first entered the system before you hit the station.
Character creation is not very good, everyone shouldn't be picking "merchant" because it's the fastest way to level up. All the options should be equally attractive. But heck, it's otherwise an awesome game!
