We really are a bunch of stubborn people and Bless you for not giving up! It really helps us other people that have problems with our step covers. Mine is a Thor Miramar I finally got mine covered so it would work with my wheelchair lift.
Just seen this video. I met you the first night in Vegas at the rally (wearing the Pink Floyd T-shirt)We bought a Newmar but were invited to the Entegra rally by the dealer NIRV. Great dealer. I met your neighbor in this video as well the day they purchased their motorized bikes. Always enjoy your video's. We live in Colorado so our unit is winterized but NIRV is holding a rally in April which will likely be our first trip out next year. We look forward to hitting the road again and enjoyed the Vegas trip. Hopefully changes at Entegra won't stop the future Vegas trips. Safe travels! Kevin
Hi Kevin, Good to hear from you and thanks for taking the time to make a comment, I don't feel very comfortable about what's happened at Entegra, but it is what it is. Why don't you go down to Quartsite?
Glen you've done a terrific job fixing and improving that step. What a shame that Enetgra, which as you've said in the past is a great company, didn't provide the skill and tenacity you've shown. Keep up with the videos, love the work Julia and yourself produce.
Well done. I'm sure you'll feel good knowing that it works in a solid and reliable way. Coming from the world of cruising boats, part of the deal was fixing, improving, and tweaking. At some point you get to know every system better than the builders did. The most important thing is that the builder gives you a quality foundation, shell and power train that will last in a solid way for 20 years. You just gotta hope that the structure doesn't loosen up, start to flex, leak, or have significant mechanical issues. If that stays ok, you'll enjoy this coach. Thanks for sharing your experiences.
I don't own an Entegra "Yet" but as I can see, I'm going to need to save all your videos to keep it up for when I get mine. You do excellent work... Thanks for sharing...Aviator
It's a pleasure, the one thing I have learned from the past two years on the road is: Do Not take your Entegra back to the factory for repair as they don't know their arse from their elbow and the workmanship (if you can call it that) is absolutely atrocious.
This guy is hilarious. Often unwontedly so which makes it even funnier. And I could listen to his accent all day. Not a bad carpenter/technician either😊
Well done on the step fix. Just a thought - if you stick the furniture pads (up the other way) on the underside of the rail on the cover in the same position, would it still retract- then they would not be on view and not get dusty. You could lay them upside down with sticky side up in same position pull out the cover and they should stick then press them on tight. Regards from another UK self fixer of Rvs Dave W.
That's marvellous!!! I was going t say the same thing ... maybe Entegra should hire you as a contestant/troubleshooter. It's obvious they don't have people that can do the job.
Wow, nice job. I guess I would have waited to install the carpet just to make sure that everything was working electrically but it looks like you solved it. Hopefully all is still well as this was a couple years ago. It's making me rethink whether I want to buy an entegra or not I can tell you that. I had my eye on a Reatta.
Hi Duane, Our Entegra has been perfect ver since we stopped letting Entegra touch it ! We will be selling soon so if you are in the market make us an offer.
Great job Glen!! What a guy!! Sad that no matter what you pay for something it appears that cheap materials and shoddy workmanship prevail. If you want something done right you're back to the old adage...
Looking for a DP in this class - and and have researching the normal suspects, including factory tours. Entegra was near the top of my list, but this gives me pause. I know that almost all RV's have issues (my current 5th wheel did), but the inability of Entegra to fix these issues is a real concern.
The felt pads can be installed upside down on the underside of those arms where they come to rest. They will be invisible like this. Monaco used a track system rather than the metal subframe arms, nice and simple...plus the actuator was a pneumatic cylinder. On the Prevost, I like that they stayed with a stronger rail system like the Monaco, no rattling arms below. I have to agree, most coach builders place the cabling in the dumbest fashion possible. The Prevost cabling is done much better. No matter who built your coach, a little careful DIY time will likely save you from this happening on the road.
Great job Glen. It looks like you can make some extra money for your travels. $100.00 is a good price, I would pay you to do it to my cornerstone on one condition. Julia is there, every job need's a boss especially a pretty one. keep the rubber on the road.
Thanks for your message Brock, you are absolutely right this would be so easy to correct at the factory when the RV's are being made. Loads of people have this problem so Entegra clearly haven't done anything about correcting this on going issue.
Great job Sir, That's a problem (one of many) with production built RVs, laziness, no Pride or craftsmanship. ;-( I just saw the result of a botched jacks install that made a 5th wheel too dangerous to use. What's sickens me the most is that it doesn't mater how expensive the RV is within a short time the faults show up and service falls down. Shame there's no site that lists the problems (fixes) with various RVs so you can hand it to the salesman letting them know those items and any you've found Must be fixed before you buy it. To make sure they "stand by their work" make sure there's a notation that they have to sign as a representative of the dealership (manufacture) that the fixes are done (correctly) and future repairs to those items will be free. ;-)
Great Job, atleast you can have peace of mind now! Oh btw I have the same screw drivers as you...Stanley im assuming! Although the very small screwdrivers are rubbish and turn in the handle now.
I’m looking at Class C coaches. BUT, I do not want to buy an on going maintenance project! Dynamax seems to have good reviews, but I would like to talk to at least 10 owners before i purchase anything.
I figured you would. I must say that I am amazed that Entegra didn't do everything possible to rectify the situation far before this. I have always loved the Entegra RVs but your experience has made me realize they aren't the type of company that I want to do business with. I am happy that your problems are fixed and I wish you many happy times ahead.
Have you had any contact from Entegra since you did this? Were they interested at all? I was looking at Entegra myself, but in the end went with the Newmar King Aire
No comment from Entegra at all, they kind of hope I'll vanish. But what they seem to forget is that ALL new potential Entegra clients look at all my videos before buying. So they need to make me aware that they have put things right so that I can make this info public
Sometimes the best fix is your own... Spend weeks telling them and in the long run you spend a few hours and its fixed and should it have any more problems you know what to do... Glenn I have a shower that needs some help you open on Sunday or Monday or them your days off... :)
When you want something done right, do it yourself. One thing this video has done for me it make sure if and when I buy a class A motor coach it won't be an Entegra.
Because the RV we had before was a Fleetwood and we didnlt have ANY issues in the 6 years we owned it, so we thought that spending a lot more money that we would get even better quality than before. Sadly we were very wrong.
If a buyer of this money/time pit conveyance WAS NOT handy with fixing/renovation he would be at the MERCY of the repair shop. And have his lawyers phone number on speed dial?
Awesome!! Sent Entegra a bill and a video!! 100,000.00 for the idea ans another 200.00.00 for the video with instructions!! & all the beer you can drink !! ;-)
that a real good fix you put on the slide platform now that you fix your Bus, whats the next destination . France °?• 👆 👔👍 are you going to put a fix on a french Bus on your next video.
@@GreatEscape24 I was just l👀king at your other video Yo, they should give you another RV this one is no good need to many repairs for being a new bus . i understand if you cant enjoy your new RV. tell them you would like a refund if they cant give you a better RV .
That really upsetting that your having these kind of problems with such an expensive coach. I'm reconsidering my option's and my buy a Newmar or Tiffin instead. to much money to be having these problems.
I don't know of anyone who has had a problem with their Tiffin and Entegra have so many internal issues that I would tread carefully. If you get a good one you'll be fine
All they are looking for is the money.Thats why you need to start useing the smaller reputable dealers who care more for your coach. Ho Ron There is a lot to be said for the smaller dealerships, I may have to do a series of dealer review. We have met quite a few of our youtube followers this last month and have spent evenings out with them and it's all been great. So anytime our paths cross I'll be happy to have a beer or two with you.
Your bit of Deprey shenanigans at the end was appropriate (see "The Deprey's" channel.). You're not the only one crying about tech-no-difficulties. See here (ua-cam.com/video/H6e_nTUFv7k/v-deo.html), he spent $1.2 million, and it's a shame. Because air planes can be bought within the price range of yours and his. All man made objects fail, which is what MTBF or Mean-Time-Between failure implies. RV manufacturer's seem to ascribe to an archaic belief system. Your coaches symptomatic premature failures don't stem from imperfect architecture. They told you didn't they? They can't guarantee your RV to be free of random break downs without a virgin sacrifice.
I don't know if Entegra is better or not, you are just one person and as you have said many times there are tons of people out there who are totally satisfied. I don't expect perfection from any company, its all about how they fix problems when they are raised. Recent subscriber, fellow Brit living in the US, loving the videos.
