  • Audrey Tang, as the Digital Minister of Taiwan, is using AI and technology to disrupt the way in which people interact with government and to promote social innovation and empowering democracy, and ultimately, their lives. Serving as Digital Minister of Taiwan since 2016, where she works in the Taiwan National Development Council’s Open Data and K-12 curriculum committees, Audrey is known for revitalizing the computer languages Perl and Haskell, as well as building the online spreadsheet system EtherCalc in collaboration with Dan Bricklin. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx

    When we see “internet of things”, let’s make it an internet of beings.
    When we see “virtual reality”, let’s make it a shared reality.
    When we see “machine learning”, let’s make it collaborative learning.
    When we see “user experience”, let’s make it about human experience.
    When we hear “the singularity is near”, let us remember: the Plurality is here.

    "Instead of asking what is the fair, the best arbitration, we ask two new questions. First we ask, given our different positions, is there some common values after all that everyone can live with? And the second question is, given the common values, can we come up with innovations that deliver these values to everybody?"

    She's no less radical than Elon Musk or Richard Branson - coupled with deep wisdom that neither can match. Can sense a new revolution coming, one which moves away emphasizing on personal material wealth into one focusing on collective total well-being.

    • @twiggie7834
      @twiggie7834 4 роки тому

      consider something more aggressive than radical, think outta box(or outta solar system if you will)..macrocosm is a domain ruled by metaphysics which is way beyond concept, logic, language, tech and matter, in other words it's non particle of the new physics that can quantum-leap humanity into next density.
      "concept, logic, tech, matter..." are big players in microcosm alone, yet Audrey Tang can do better than that, if she so intends. me never a fan of mind game.

But if you take away the reply button, if you see something that you really don't agree with, you can just click "disagree" and that's the most you can do. And then of course you can propose something else for other people to resonate with. "

    I like Audrey Tang and I like her ideas, but frankly Taiwan (where I live) is a bit of a mess. Not a UK-level mess, perhaps, but the desperately stagnant wages, the domination by corrupt old power groups, the enduring regional populism and the constant capitulation to the loudest voices are desperately disappointing.
