This is a genuine apology for an error he clearly committed due to a professional oversight not personal reasons, but WLEX 18 chose to have a knee jerk reaction versus support a long standing team member. Real leadership wouldn't try to pretend Lee never existed and instead try the hard right through public reconciliation efforts versus ostracizing Lee. WLEX 18 has not "managed" the situation in a constructive way. Why can't WLEX 18 consider setting a precedent by choosing to promote a public conversation where both sides work toward reconciliation to change the way these issues are handled? Maybe even Mary Jo could be the lead facilitator? Why not find a way to bridge the divide even when it's just a perceived misunderstanding? The way that WLEX 18 handled this only promotes further divisiveness versus resolving anything. Imagine what a positive trend it could set if Lee returns and there is a civil conversation about this? Also, when did apologizing stop becoming something we could accept and move forward on with the intent that we would be more conscientious in our efforts? We can learn from our mistakes and the mistakes of others and be better together...if we would only try versus brush it aside with a termination or highly recommended resignation. Consider that.

In today's climate of labels that humans assign other humans; there are those that find it very difficult to forgive while realizing we are all imperfect creatures of God. You have my upmost respect for owning your mistake. It shows what a great human being you really are. We all must tread through mud to reach solid ground. Unfortunately, we sometimes slip and while MOST will understand the difficulty, extend a hand and offer encouragement to stand steadfast and continue your trek to solid ground; there truly are SOME that are ashamed that during your fall some mud splashed on their faces and they fear someone will look upon them as if they slipped in the mud instead. They must wipe the mud of your terrible misdeed from their faces and make you pay! Because no equal of them could ever slip in the mud, never.
