It is 1am here and im holding my scissors, looking for some hoyas to cut 🤣
Looked at the clock when I saw this comment.. 1:09.
Where can I find one in the east coast of MA?
This video wasn't dumb! I really like watching people just mess around with their plants, even if I'm familiar with the techniques. It's relaxing to have plant videos in the background while I work during the day.
I agree! So relaxing 😌🪴
These are my favorite types of videos! I usually watch it while I eat lunch or dinner, and it just lets me relax and not think of life’s stresses. ☺️♥️
yes!
I’ve been trying different ways of propagating. Thanks for showing me another method😀
When you sang BYEEEE at the end, my dog did the doggy head tilt so hard
This video wasn’t dumb, it was very helpful!💚
not me getting the scissors and take out containers out after watching this video
you’re glowing today wow
This is the earliest I’ve been in so long. Huge congrats to you on your new little family member!!
Did I miss something? Was there a pregnancy announcement in this video?
@@dana8208 nope, check instagram though 😉
@@QuirkyCaitie thanks for the reply. I cant check insta right now 😭😭😭 I gave it up for lent.
@@dana8208 oh no!!! They announced it a day or two ago :) posted a really cute pic of kai with the sonogram pics!! Harli said she’s been feeling really really sick which is part of the reason she hasn’t been uploading so much.
@@QuirkyCaitie thank you so much for sharing! Yay congratulations to the Harli G fam jam 🎉🎉🎉
Awesome! Definitely was needing some extra tips on how damp the sphagnum in my prop containers should be. I keep getting that mold you spoke of... Great video, not dumb, Great information is always needed even if it is often repeated! Some people need that refresher!!
Yeah I keep getting mold too. Not sure if I need to sterilize it before reusing it or if I should just throw it away
Try using distilled water?
This was super helpful because my philodendron brasil is a little sparse on top and I’ve been wanting to fill it in 😁
The explanation of how damp to keep the moss was very helpful!
I just ordered sphagnum moss and started taking cuttings everywhere after your last plant tour. I’m so excited to see all my plants get fuller🥰
How fun!
You might want to let some of these plants callous over, especially if you don’t have multiple cuttings of the same plants. I’ve had better luck with the rotting issue when I let it callous, but it’s all luck I guess. 😊
Yes helpful🙂I'm in a very small town plants are hard to find and $$$. So I'll be giving this a try
Is it bad that I just figured out they my cling wrap wouldn’t stick to the container also I love this video!
Same here. Always fight with it.
Not dumb at all. I have learned SO MUCH from you. I don’t really watch anyone else’s planty channels. You match my vibe girl!
Congrats on the 200K AND on your pregnancy!! So excited for your family :)
this is the one we've all been waiting forrrr
I like that you keep the moss in the soil because I’ve ripped off a lot of roots trying to remove the moss! ❤️
I love that you're frugal like this! The tips are good, thanks!!
I just got a Hoya Bella cutting that I’ve been struggling with so this video is so helpful!
i was just scrolling and saw Harli G 2 minutes ago and I was like ohohohohohohohoh :D
I actually want plant shopping yesterday and noticed a variegated hoya and i was like oh i have to have it and it was 25$ and i was like not anymore and there was like 2 tiny 4 or 5 inch plants in a 6 inch pot and i sat it down and walked away. hope you have a wonderful day and sorry about your cat.
Definitely not a dumb video! Super help to know how wet other people keep their moss.
I’m going to try this on a couple of my Hoya. I’m just so scared to cut them. Your instructions make it look so easy! Congratulations on the new upcoming addition ♥️
You could always start with 2 cuttings. And if they fail, you won’t have risked the whole plant. That’s probably what I’ll try with my Hoya Chelsea. Just as an experiment 😍
Don’t be afraid, I had hoyas that were about to die. Put them in spahg and they rooted. Sometimes it takes more than a month sometimes less
Very nice to know that planting the cutting in the pot with some moss around the roots won't cause root rot! I've had so much trouble in the past trying to remove all moss without breaking fragile hoya roots!! Thanks a lot for that
Nothing like a vid from Harli to make your Monday great 🙌🏼❤️❤️
I'm so ready to be in a place I can start propagating my plants!
Congrats on 200k! I also like using sphagnum moss. I have a baby albo syngonium cutting that I rooted in sphagnum moss in a ziploc and it's just been sitting on the shelf doing its thang and it seems to be happy just the way it is.
Why am I 33 years old and just now learned this water on the rim secret to cling wrap... I feel like it's not only useful in this setting, but also when trying to wrap foods. 😄 Jeez.
This video was helpful! Thanks!
I thought I was the only one who leaves the moss around new cuttings when potting into soil. 👍🏾💚
I think I have finally figured out how to use a propagation box and it is so exciting. If you are struggling, keep trying. I have found a smaller clear flip top container makes it easier to take care of and air out!
I'll try anything my UA-cam hosts suggest. Sphagnum propagation has been 100% successful for me. I've learned that plants die. This was really hard for me. I take it personal. I'm 66 (TODAY) and never had plants until the quarantine. Plants have kept me from depression. Oh, I rescued a dog too! It all makes me happy! Thank you for making your videos.
I cut a Hoya leaf from my mother's plant and put it in soil 11 or 12 years ago. For a year nothing happened, I just had a leaf in soil. I kept watering it since it didn't die (also, I had no idea what I was doing). It is now a big Hoya draped around the window frame. It got full and bushy entirely on it's own, I never cut it or did anything to it aside from repotting every few years and giving it support for the strands to climb on. It flowers regularly and generously. So if you give it enough time it will take care of things on its own, ha, ha. Love my Hoya. I recently cut a leaf off in hopes of propagating another plant.
i just got my first hoya!! it’s a hoya macrophylla she’s so beautiful 😭😭
Was it a cutting or an established plant? 😍
@@serenequeiruga8736 established!! it’s still pretty small but it’s already got a few growth points, i’m so excited!!
Thanks Ashley for this video! I love propagation! Propagating Hoya's kind of intimidates me. Now, I'm going to take some cuttings and replay this video 100+ times! Lol
For me propagating hoya compacta in a little jar with perlite and some water and covering the jar with a ziplock has worked great!
As a super newbie and frugal, this is very helpful!!
Thank you for showing how to make your plant pot look fuller. I got some scraggly plants with one cut and now I know what to do instead of spending my money.
Great video! Plants prices have gotten out of hand and the sizes have gotten smaller. It takes time. But now, we can hopefully, successfully propagate our own to make them fuller and larger.
Love this video!! Nothing I love more than propping Hoya 🙌🙌🙌
Love this!! Its nice to see other people’s planty methods 😆
I am fascinated with the prop box idea. I have been learning to make my own through trial and error 😆 so I always love it when you talk about them and how you plant in them. Thank you!
Prop boxes are so fun! I hope there was something helpful in this video for you!
You look so happy and healthy!! Hair is lookin fire. Shirt cute af. Diggin' your vibes today, thanks
I’ve been resisting the moss method but you’re like a propagating princess and I’m going to take the leap 🪴😊
Yay! Good luck! You’ve got this 😊
The round prop vessel looks like a big ‘ol salad. 🥗
Your content is very helpful! I am learning as I go. Propagating, care, lighting, watering... All helpful!
Every time I watch your videos it always makes me wanna snip every plant I have
I got my first hoya about a month ago and now I can't wait to collect more and try this!
Didn't really like Hoyas a few months ago. Now you're getting me hooked!
Not dumb!! You gave me the reassurance to move my shepherdii cuttings from the perlite they came in to sphagnum:) I completely agree with you, there is so much less guesswork with sphagnum props!
Thank you for being so thorough on spag propagation!
This was very helpful and enlightening. I am fixing to repot and trim my hoya carnosa krimson princess and was planning to prop the cuttings. I didn't know that one node is all that's needed for each cutting. I was thanking each section needed at least two nodes, so I'll be able to make more babies from the trimmings. Thank you for this video. 👍
NEVER dumb!! I always learn from your videos! Thanks @Harli_G :)
Harli, YOU GOTTA STOP WITH THE SELF-DEPRECATING COMMENTS!!! Your videos are never dumb, YOU are never dumb, we all love you and your content!
my happiness reaches another level when you post a new video
Wow thank you. You just made my day
Congratulations on your new family member 🥰 you seriously have the best tips & tricks!
I’ve had 0 luck with propagating in sphagnum moss; this was really helpful!! Thank you!!
I love it when you talk about Hoyas!! : )
your prop videos are the best! I've been butterflying my VSOH and wow it is absolutely wild how full it's gonna get
I successfully propagated my hoya compacta using the ziplock bag method! It had roots in like two weeks 🥰
Very useful. In the UK a lot of plants that are common in the US are really expensive here, so I end up buying tiny cuttings. It will certainly help me get them bigger going forward
Not dumb at all :) love that you showed every part of the process!
Thank you thank you for the great video!! I have a crazy hoya bella plant that is growing super long and I have been looking all over for a specific hoya bella propagation video for a long time. This is exactly what I needed! Now i can finally propagate my hoya bella with ease! Thank you again!
This video is definitely helpful! Your hair looks gorgeous! Happy planting!
Not dumb at all! I just started getting Hoyas so happy to see they are easy to propagate
I would love to see more helping videos. Basic information and knowledge as well. I was new at one time and I had to Google/ask soooo many people for help. I come here to see what knew things I can learn/ try and pass it on.
girl congrats on 200k and also your baby announcement!!!! so so happy for you :D
Very helpful. I am trying to get my Hoya planter full from one branch plant and now I know how. Thank you!
Your video was very helpful to me. I recently became a lover of Hoyas. I have 5 of them now. I definitely can use the information you provided. Thank you.
I love your propagation videos. You have helped me so much. Keep them coming.
I used to really not like Hoya but they’re really starting to grow on me now
YEAH... You Just Hadn't Met The Right Ones!!! Watch Out For #HoyaFever!!!
I’ve always wondered how to get my saran wrap to stick! Also those little props are so cute! 😍
That was very helpful. I have a Bella hoya and I've been too scared to cut it for propagations. This helped. Thank you.
This video was very helpful!!! I really love your videos, and I too love to have plant videos going during the day.
That was a pretty good idea to cover the spag with soil....like a mulch of sorts.
Don't doubt yourself
Thank you this was very helpful for me and my love for Hoyas! I have been removing as much moss as I can but you saying to leave in and that it helps actually made sense with the reasons you gave. So yes helpful and thank you!
No such thing as dumb when it comes to propping, like how there is no such thing as a stupid question. There are SO many ways to go about propagating and it`s always neat to see what works for some and what works for others. And hey, I`ve never used sphag and probably never will, (I`m a vermiculite stan,) it`s just nice to see plant people planting!
This was super helpful! I cut my Hoya hoya wayetii for the first time after watching this and for some reason I totally wasn’t expecting the white/blueish fluid that came out at the cuts lol. I’ve only ever propagated pothos is water before this.
Hoya Bella is such a great plant to propagate!
Thanks for showing the process after they get roots! I never know exactly when to plant them - the tip about waiting until they have new growth makes a lot of sense and I’ll definitely be using that :)
I do have trouble actually cutting my houseplants - I always feel so bad for them and chicken out haha (esp with Hoyas because they’re so cute!)
This helped a lot! Lately my props have been fails so I’m excited to try again.
Thank u so much for your videos. Its opening up a whole new world for me and I'm in love. Cant wait to propagate my lil butt off!
There is always something so soothing about watching these prop videos even if I'm not a hoya stan. I learn so much!
Congrats Harli! I understand if you don’t upload as much! Love this video!
I live in Costa Rica, and the only way I found a Scindapsus rictus was a huge single vine, with I've propagated into many plants in 3 pots, quite a fun project if you ask me :D
Thanks for another awesome vid, Harli! I always get excited when I see a new video from you!
hoya queen, i just started collecting and im excited for them to grow!!!
I found this super helpful! I'm not a hoya lover myself, but I am trying to fill out my scindapsus and I have been SUPER nervous to use sphag. This video explaining the prop box process helped me feel more comfortable with it. Question, though, I may have missed you mentioning it, but how often do you find yourself needed to rewet your sphag?
I really enjoyed this one. I love when you do repots, props, and general plant maintenance. I also really enjoy watching you do general care like plant cleaning and cleaning the areas where they live like when you did the bathroom.
Ohhh j got lots more house to clean so maybe I’ll film some more of that haha
I’ve been into plants since 2018 but still will always like these tip videos for propagation, Will ALWAYS love a good prop box or updates on your props videos!! 🥰☺️
Great video for the basics of plant propagation.
I was gifted four well-rooted hoya bella cuttings yesterday! SO EXCITED. This video is going to be helpful as heck to make it fuller!
Great video. Concise with great examples of root development! T
My favorite was the two peduncles! 😍
Great Video as always, congratulations on baby #2🤗🎀🎉🎀🎉🎀🎉❤🌱❤🍃
Great video! I think it’s really important especially for people who don’t know that Hoyas don’t bush out & fill the pot. It’s really rewarding when you get a tiny little cutting and make a big giant plant out of it - it might take a while but it is rewarding 🤗
This was a awesome video, I was always curious if you should take all the moss off the roots before putting the cuttings in soil. I found this video super helpful 🌱🪴😉
This video was great! I didn't know how to propagate hoya, so this was super helpful!
Been wanting to propagate my Hoyas for so long! Just ordered spaghnum moss and will try this 🌱 good luck to everyone with your propagations 🤞🏼
I’ve been waiting for this video!
I’m new to Hoya and I’ve been dying to chop up my Krimson Princess and just wanted to make sure I do it right 😁
I tried propigating once but I ended up putting them on a heat mat and fried them and there was far to much humidity so I may try again this spring. Thank you it was very helpful for me.
It’s been a few months of having a prop box and I’m finally seeing growth. My Hoya krimson queen does not want to root in there. Slowly but surely though! Congrats on the new babe! ❤️
