  • Snowshoes aren’t super complex, but you do need to be sure they go on securely and comfortably so you can have an enjoyable trek. In this video, Katie talks about how to tell the left snowshoe from the right and how to properly secure the bindings to keep the snowshoes on your feet.

I have the MSR snow shoes with the rear extender for deep powder. Highly recommend snow shoeing. My favorite is to go out after or during a heavy snowfall, the only thing I hear is snowfall as it attenuates ambient noise.

Thanks for posting! Getting ready to try to walk around block. Other videos started with shots of walks in remote areas and discussed importance of bringing map and compass and letting someone know where you are going. I'm just going around my neighborhood and needed to know how to put them on. Lol

Hi, Pablo! Welcome to snowshoeing. For snowshoeing, you're going to want a warm, comfortable, boot. Insulated, waterproof winter boots with thick soles and rubber or leather uppers are ideal, but sturdy waterproof leather hiking boots can also work. Wool or synthetic socks, that wick sweat are a must.
Consider booking an appointment with one of our virtual outfitters, so we can help you further narrow down some options: bit.ly/2Lby9i3

Note that she doesn't put the ball of her foot over the crampon, in spite of what she says.

Yeah, the video makes it look like the tip of her boot is over the crampon.

Is there a video how to put your boots on and tie your laces? Today we make videos without asking why are we doing this....

There better be no plastic on those snow shoes. You’ll kill the environment!
