I saw that your first backpack has straps across it that make mounting the snowshoes really easy. What model is it? I'd be interested in getting that backpack.
On mine it looks like I can strap them to the bottom where a sleeping bag would go. Does that work or would they stick out on the sides too much? Seems difficult with 30” shoes.

That's great info, but I have never seen anyone use that kind of shoe. Maybe get some of the more common ones to showcase?
its just about the placement the shape doesn't really matter, throw some straps across and you're good

You can strap them anywhere just be wary of them cutting up your pack, your clothes or you. Also think about how it would feel if you tripped on fell.
