Yeeees! Saw them live about a year ago and IT. WAS. MAGIC. GAEREA, according to the band, means "us". It means the band, what they do in their artistic lives. Hence the masks. As they said, nobody cares about their faces, they're not celebrities. It's about music, the art they make.

I can hear the pain in their lyrics "The Greater Evil” is a heavy heartbroken ode of despair to the futile selfishness of mankind. The reckless disregard for nature and humanity alike. Mankind's sacrifice of reason for the greater evil. We are extinction’s advocates.
Scratches that Black Metal itch in the back of my brain. For some reason this was the time of year I listened to BM the most when I was younger. I'm going to have to check these guys out. 🤘🤘
@@TheWolffAndTheMelody I think for me with the early BM, I could tolerate the crappy recordings more because I listened to punk so much, and was used to the bad production. Then I found Agalloch and really fell in love with the genre
This band is so fking awesome, their album Limbo back in 2020 was one of my biggest metal discoveries for the last 10 years /,,/ And this album Mirage did not disappoint either, all their albums are fking lit which I can't recommend enough, so much to love in their music! Glad to see you got to them as well my guy ;p

It's been a good while since i came across any new black metal i like. This was awesome. I love when BM vocalists don't just do the high-pitched shreeking but more of a growl, this guys vocals are right up my alley. Looks like Portugal is a very underrated metal country.
Hell yes, One of my favourite bands, amazing stuff. Another similar band called "...and Oceans" are great but they add symphonic elements to their black metal style.
i also recently discovered this band and after many MANY hours of having their albuums on repeat "to ain" is the definitly the biggest highlight. that song is truly something else.@@chilliwilliams2525
Dude, that means more to me than you realize. Yes this is a "reaction" channel, but I'm trying to make it more. I love connecting and talking life and music with people, which makes sense and perfect for a reaction channel. Its been such a blast connecting with so many great people! I'm really grateful that you would even take time to be here.
@@TheWolffAndTheMelody yeah man would love if you did something from Set to stun preferably Staria: I and II they don’t really have videos for these just lyric vids I think. Anyways thanks for the reply again keep up the great work making the internet dope.
Your Avatar reaction finally got me to check out your reactions. Ive gone down the rabbit hole of your channel, and while i havent looked through everything, i have some bands and songs id suggest: 1. Pagan Revolution by Elvenking 2. The Dark Sentencer by Coheed and Cambria 3. Master the Hurricane by Visions of Atlantis 4. All Shall Burn by Eleine 5. Gunman by Orden Ogan. Thank you for all you do, and have a good day!!!!
While I am not a fan when the vocals are only growling, I think they work better as an accent or a contrast with other vocals. Having said that I see this as a natural outgrowth of the punk movement, and I really liked a lot of that stuff back in the day.
@@TheWolffAndTheMelody I like some but some just dont do it. You could react to live O father, O satan , O sun, that is just good Behemoth. And on this Gaerea, the vocals sound like Nergals
I would have recommended it if I could have remembered how to spell it. I like the raw wall of music that black metal gives you. Sooo... It's not Portugal, but this is from my home town Portland. VINTERSEA - Lonesome Tide (Official Tour Music Video). You won't regret this one.
I would have appreciated a change of pace. It was just one speed the whole time. When it comes to death metal and black metal, I compare everyone to Lorna Shore, and they have the ability to make growling beautiful. The "Pain Remains" trilogy gets me every dam time.
It's what makes music great....the fact it's so subjective. But check out "Pain Remains" even if you have heard it before, but make sure you're watching the video version.
Nice reaction 🤘 We are Gaerea 🤘
Amazing stuff, thank you !
An omnipresent relentless onslaught. Definitely something I wouldn't get into too often, but I appreciate hearing different music on your channel.
