Got the viper ultimate for 90 on sale through Amazon years ago, still using it, why would they up charge a smaller mouse for ppl with small hands? Simply does not make sense. Gotta be inflation
All other reviews review this mouse like an advertisment. The Techne and Boardzy are the only true mouse reviewers, IMHO. The good the bad and the ugly, we need to see it all. Thanks Techne.
Even though I'm not a part of the audience of the viper mini and never planned to buy a wireless version, I'm glad you called out this outrageous price and emphasized it throughout your review. Respect.
I believe this viper mini is more of a limited edition and for the minority of enthusiast. For sure the other 2 viper mini versions will be more consumer friendly.
@@stefan7848 there will be 2 releases coming this year, we don’t know what will be the difference between this edition and the other 2, but for sure they are viper minis
@@whatisthissss I’m not saying it’s a limited edition but its “like” a limited edition trying to make it more expensive. If you understand what what I’m trying to explain.
Two more versions is coming i hope one of those will include a viper mini wired 8khz. If razer can make a budget wired viper mini then they can also do a high end wired viper mini hence the viper mini wired 8khz
I love the viper mini shape but it has a high lod, budget sensor, crappy scroll wheel encoder, and a plastic ring around the sensor. So that’s why i hope razer will make a viper mini v2 wired 8khz (basically a better specs than the og viper mini)
That crunch on the left-click is something i hoped would be fixed with the wireless version. Would also have been nice without the crazy wobbly clicks.
At least use carbon fiber instead of plastic at $280. It’s lighter and stronger too. 49 grams sucks if you compare it to the v2 pro. You save 8 grams while being smaller and having holes and using magnesium. At least save an extra 2 grams minimum from the bottom base. I’d rather mod the v2 pro than buy that
Razer going to be laughing at the consumers who purchase this. $279 USD, $379 CAD is broad day robbery. This mouse should be absolute perfection for this price.
I kind of wish it also had a texture on it, that way for those of use gamers with sweaty hands it makes a very large difference. I hope they can make something with a grip, without compensating weight
Yup. Looks like a Razer product. I’ve had two copies each of DAV3 and Viper v2 Pro. All had side flex. All had significant button wobble and crunch under right click. Never again.
@@mhryciuk0785 they are at the absolute top right now when it comes to mice. Both viper v2 and deathadder v3 are seen as the best on the market by ALOT of people.
Definitely not jumping on the hype train. Even this elevated price wouldn't be an issue if quality was perfect out of the box (for enthusiasts)... it isn't, so this release is a bust. Will keep waiting for the cheapest version I guess, hopefully QA will be done correctly on that edition.
Does it have exact same shape as viper mini? I used to get cramp on my hand with the viper mini, although I don't have that big of a hand, I am using Orochy V2 now (although not as light as viper mini), its been a fine purchase.
For $280 I thought it would have better battery life. 60 hours is deplorable. I bought my g303 on release and its been a consistent 4-5 weeks of battery life.
I have a lot of issues with this mouse but the battery life is not one of them. 60 hrs on 4k polling rate is almost 3x the life of a v2 pro or DAV3 on 4k.
Everyone looking at the Razer Viper Mini wireless do not get the Signature Edition but wait for the Normal edition of the Razer Viper Mini wireless that will cost less then this.
I'm so sorry to ask this question in this video, but it's very important and I need it. Do I have to buy any of these for story games or watching movies sometimes and I never plying fps games (hyperx cloud alpha or hyperx cloud flight s) thanks too
I don't give a f*** whether it's special edition or not. Just 280$ for the mouse is TOOOOOO MUCH and even its quality doesn't seem that perfect, OMG... For 280$, it should be more than perfect....
Can I just get a standard Viper mini with wireless? I love the Viper mini. It’s perfect for except for the wire. I don’t need all this extra fluff etc for $280. I’m actually using the Orichi v2 for now, when I want wireless.
I am happy to see they did it and hopefully this became common and bring down the price someday. I would love to own one but its out of my budget. I'd prefer to own 1 mouse than to own many because I can only use one at a time and, changing mouse often will have to adapt to it too.
I loved my Viper mini, it was the first mouse that got me into gaming mice in general. But this price seems targeted towards hobbyist/collectors. Hope they released a cheaper version, I'm still satisfied with my Superlight anyway. lol.
This is why you go to the Techne first. I saw a few review videos posted but came here first knowing this review would be legit. I saw the price and thought man they are really trying to get those people who have been posting on here and reddit about how much they needed a mini wireless. Razer's like oh you "need it?" We got you but you're gonna pay. Good news that they plan on doing another one though, let's see if people can stand the wait. I'm good with the viper pro (I bought it before the deathadder, kinda want to get that one though, maybe in white?)
280 oh no no no haha honestly I'd say this model should have been 240 or 220. The viper mini was so good for such a price. The other models should be lower than a GproX upon release, though I'm not even excited after this price tag.
I'm going to get one because I have all those top tier specs and a 4090, I play fingertip, now I just need to figure out what mousepad to get for it, yolo my man yolo...
Yall gotta realize, that they are still going to do a normal Viper Mini Wireless at a more normal price point... Of course a special edition is going to cost way more.
all around it isn't a good deal. Personally I think people are better off waiting on the plastic version. The price is ridiculous for a mouse of it's size and spec and has to much competition to be a top tier mouse (price to performance). If you want an endgame mouse look further it's simply to expensive.
Razer know that people are gonna want this so bad and when they actually release the 'regular' version and ask 129$ - 149$ we' ll say: 'Wow that's a steal!'. But it'not. 60$ for a mouse is expensive. 100$ for a mouse is too much. Anything beyond that is just ridiculous.
Deletion of the dpi switch on top is a big, big problem for me. It costs as much as 2 G Pro's or Viper V2 Pro's they're smoking crack. They skipped ahead all the way to the ultimate legendary final edition instead of giving us the Mini with no cable. Also big thing that made the Mini unique was the RBG glow on the bottom and I don't know if any Viper Mini wireless will come with it I feel like they wont because it adds weight.
there so many options now in the 50g weight range from small to mid size mice why would any one pay that price for the the diffrence of few grams !!!!!!.......ill stick to my big mice nothing beats the plum feels am just mad diffrent💪 ill add this, its a missed oppurtunity by razer to re stablish the viper mini as the budget king even if they kept the original weight at 60g for the wireless and updating the wired version something like $40 for the wired and $70 for the wireless this would be a home run amongs casuals and enthusiast alike instead of making the viper mini into something that its not i.e holes design and super pricey....they missed the point of the original viper mini
YA! they can keep the mouse! LOL, so dumb how these companies put overpriced price tags on these products. I went through razor viper minis. The mouse is too small for my hands, so it cramps up. I'm on my second razor death header version two special edition and the left clicker is hard to press and the left side padding is pushed in, and it has a thumb engrave into it. I'll never buy a razor product again.
What is the most $ you will spend for a gaming mouse?
80
I almost died after spending $150 on my gpro x so prob $150 max, there’s no way mice should be this expensive 😩

For this kind of price, you would expect something that can be easily serviced by the user to make sure it lasts
Absolutely. I've been waiting for a top tier serviceable mouse for probably about 20 years. 👍
Nice video, but the 4k hyperpolling dongle is only $15 with the discount code "4khz". That is only for 50% off, so the regular price is only 30 usd.
Jeebus, the opening is extreme. Throwing a 280 bucks mouse will give me a heart attack.
Hey techne, do you know of any upcoming headsets or open backs due for release this year great channel.
Ain't no way imma bout to pay almost the price of a console to get this mouse
Wow QC seems like a concern, Boardzy side buttons and now techne M1 & M2 problems for nearly 300$ you will think this mice would be flawless.

will the regular viper mini have an regular shell? and why are all buttons on this mice even worse then on the viper ultimate?
