Hi! First thanks, I search for Tai-chi content a lot and this is to me, the most true and deepest teaching I found yet! I just wonder, at the end of the video, the tall guys with curly hair seem to jump, making it feel unrealistic, I watched slow, you can see the leg muscle contract, I just wonder if he is a too good "Uke" or if there is special going one at this point?

For the people going on with their tired comments about this not being for MMA, he’s not saying it is. He already said in past interviews that he gave up hard external style fighting. Just take it for what it is. Even if there’s no other purpose to it, it’s effing cool. Like being a human stun gun. And tapping into some power few will ever understand or experience.

I’ve had it done to me by other people, and it’s real. What people don’t realize, is that it’s very scientific and uses physics. There’s nothing mystical about it.

Joe Rogan is ignorant and dismissive, enjoying ridicule rather than linking up with someone of this kind of ability. He wouldn't be convinced by this video, but I'd be happy to see him meet up with a practitioner like Mizner to have a first-hand experience. There's a documentary (not a great one, but worth seeing) called "Power of Chi" in which several UFC and MMA former champions engage with Adam Mizner and a couple of other higher level Tai Chi figures in casual demonstrations. They are immediately stunned by what they experience, admitting that they previously made light of internal power claims but quickly become convinced that it's for real.

You're speaking as someone who hasn't experienced this and hasn't seen higher level Tai Chi fighters in real combat situations. But it's true that you can't use this in this exact way in an MMA type of fight; you have to train for the techniques and energies to be used in a full-contact and chaotic fight situation. I know a sifu who trains people for MMA using Tai Chi methods and internal energy. I've taken him to studios to engage with sifu or master teachers specializing in martial arts like Kung Fu San Soo, for example, and I can assure you he more than impressed them. What you see here will certainly work with less accomplished or trained fighters, too. So the context and the competitor matters. Don't denigrate what you don't understand from experience. And talking about someone calling themselves a "master" is fraught with problems to begin with. Note that Adam Mizner doesn't refer to himself as a master, but he does refer to his teachers or someone in his lineage as a grandmaster. And don't assume that the fakers you've seen represent real Tai Chi or internal martial arts at a high level. There are plenty of fakers out there who are easy to ridicule.

@@bernidavis3273 true,...... I followed a 4 day course not too long ago, and I managed to connect and release the tension, but changing the body takes allot of practice. And the times I succeeded were limited, and really had to take the time, to find the space beyond the mind. Collapsing came easier than expanding. With some it came as a slow wave, and on a few occasions the training partner got the uncontrollable jolt.

It varies widely, even, say, if you practice a similar regimine. Positive effects may come very soon, but to get to know how ling Adam took tonget to this, his current level, search out how long he hss been practicing: probably 10 to 20 years. There are benefits and rewards all along the way, though, so you don't really have to think of it as some end goal so much as a continual journey that has you conntinually engaged and continually and increasingly rewarded.
