Jacob and Natalie , you guys make me believe 'common sense' isn't dead!
The way you reuse materials and come up with amazing $$ saving devices for your build. It's very satisfying to watch, plus it's a fantastic example for your children. Love your videos. 🇨🇦😉
Thanks so much!😊
Very very nice job, That Will work perfect! Love watching your family! God Bless y'all!
Jacob this is my second view of your log arch and I still find it very captivating Great. Job on arch.
I love your channel. It is interesting as well as lots of fun! This is an enjoyable family-friendly page. I am happy for your success at the homesite.
Thanks so much!🙂
Nice job! Next time you weld fishplate gussets like these, leave the short ends perpendicular to the tubing unwelded. Fully welded gussets put a huge stress riser at the end of each gusseted joint, both fron the heat of welding and now the joint area is stronger than the bare tubing. Unwelded perpendicular gusset ends can flex a minute amount, without stressing the tubing. It'll probably never break, but...
Things are moving along, Happy Sunday from Calgary Canada
I have egg on my face....because the western side of the southern border angles northwest, it threw off my former calculation. If I measure the distance between the borders on the eastern side, it is 390 miles from north to south, and 195 miles ends up about in line with Show Low. The people in Vernon and Concho can say northern. Glad I re-calculated that....still doesn't "seem" northern to me though :)
Such good work and great recycling well done .😊
Good morning you guys hope you guys are having a great day and hope you have a great Sunday God bless you guys
Very interesting and heavy. Your wife is a great video taker. I'm an older woman but love family videos especially of construction. See you next time.
I want to see the log arch in action !
Nice work Jacob.. love the rainbow Natalie.
Good job!! It looks great!!
I continue to be amazed by your ability to build and create anything. Happy Sunday and Blessings to your family.
And the good news is, the next time Natalie has to help drag the blue beam carcass around, now its even lighter! haha. Great job on the arch Jacob! Nice addition to your 'tool kit.'
It is lighter. I can actually carry it myself now without much trouble. Thanks. 🙂
Awesome job, Jacob!! And Natalie, I noticed you were wetting those rocks, but good on the shed! 😂😉 It’s a lot of work, but it will be so beautiful once done!!!
That is one good looking arch. Well done
Great job! Looking forward to seeing it in action🎬
I want to learn to weld. Thanks for sharing
It's such a handy skill to have. Even if it's just for fixing small things. Thanks.
Very Nice!! Good job!! It sure is a beast!!
You get some beautiful sunsets 😊.
Have a good week guys!! 🥰🌿♥️
Nat is a beast!!! that cutting wheel is getting smaller.....one heck of a drill bit going through that metal...what a great looking arch!! love your hat...cant stop laughing..lol..cant wait to see it work!!! thanks for sharing your family
Awesome job, could you put one leg of the arch under a Boulder and lift the other with the backhoe to flex them back apart.
Maybe 🙂
As usual cant wait for more, looks great ❤
Jacob, just started this episode but know that you will master the arch (as you do with everything else)! No doubt about it. 😍🇨🇦
Love the log arch! All the best to your family going forward!
i sure hope the rear of the trailer, in its weakened state, will hold up to the heavy load of the log lift and logs............g
We'll find out 😅
9000 subscribers! Congratulations Nathalie and Jacob! Your channel is interesting and funny 🦋🐟🐍🐢🐭
Thanks so much!!😁
Jacob and Natalie, you folks dream, plan and put you thoughts into action. I have noticed how you encourage the kids by your positive words and letting them help you. Your smiles and sense of humor are heart-warming. Continued blessing to all of you folks.
Working hard everyday.😊😊😅😅😅😂👌😉👍👍👍👏👏👏👏👏👏😉👌
Only rookie fabricators need to keep showing their 4 best welds of the day....and only mig welds why not the stick welds??? Bwahah 🤣🤣. Just giving you a hard time. I don’t think people truly understand how difficult it can be to do some of the projects your doing in the field vs Inside a work shop where you have a nice level floor and all the tool you need arms length away.... worlds apart!!! I’ve never seen this method used so looking forward to see how this works.
😅 I only showed 3 welds 🤣
Surprised how many people call that area northern Arizona. St.
Johns is in southern Arizona so anything south of that is de facto southern Arizona. Haven't heard anyone call that area southern.😮 don't go barefoot around those metal shavings-ouch.
I think the same thing sometimes. We're basically eastern Arizona near the center (north and south). But everyone always calls it northern Arizona, so I just repeat what I hear. I'll try to say it differently next time 😅. Thanks.
❤😊❤😊❤😊
👍👍
lmao Guys it is a log arch Trust me the first log you lift it will tweak itself into alignment (good or bad) just go with what you have Rome was not built in a day You are being way to hard on yourselves Do the best you can and move on I have not seen any trees large enough to buckle or bend that log arch Have a great day and as always All the best from Allenford, Ontario, Canada
you are right, rome was built at night.
😂
I discovered this channel Saturday July 22. Awesome build in Canada. He has the same wood mill as Jacob. Wonderful technique and interesting artistry. Also, has solar power. I hope it is okay that I have attached the address of this build because it is very informative. Lots of skill in this one. www.youtube.com/@TheOutsiderCabin Family friendly. No bad language or pictures.
I love The Outsider. Watch him all the time. Beautiful area he's in. Im thinking of replicating his railing he did for his loft among other ideas I've gotten from him. Thanks for sharing. 🙂
@@aboulderlifeoffgrid Wonderful ! I am amazed at this guy's numerous abilities. Very skilled craftsman.
👍
You need a mag drill.
He does, Randolph. I can’t afford it but some nice viewer should gift him one….hint!
Yup 🙂
A few questions concerning your welding. What sticj welder are you using? What amperage? And are you using 6010 6011 or 7018 sticks?
Flux cord on the MiG? Welder? What strength?
I’m putting one of these together with 2x3 steel tubing on my dump trailer and am not exactly a season welder
Sorry it's taken so long to get back to you. The stick welder is a Forney 235 AC/DC. I believe I was welding at 100 amps DC. Used E7018 rod. And yes, fluxcore on the mig. I had the voltage all the way up on the mig just to get good penetration. Regular wire with argon gas for the mig welder is the way to go. You'll get much cleaner welds. Something I have yet to do. Thanks 🙂
Me again..question: would this be in the way or get damaged when you’re hauling loose material?
Yes, but we are making it removable. Thanks again 😁
At 6 minutes or so. What is wrong with that picture?? You are there AND your wife is misting the rocks.
She was working on the rock facade around the shed while I was welding. You have to keep the rocks wet when mortaring them together. 🙂
👍👍👍
