I don't know if viewers are aware of how difficult it is to run a rack. They make it look quite easy, and there isn't a single ball that raised pocketed daddy average player couldn't make as well what we fail to fully grasp is when he pockets a ball he leaves the cue ball in a position the pocket the remaining balls on the table pp the ability to even envision a 4 ball run is a skill beyond most the ability to execute it demonstrates the depth of their skill to do it consistently against the great players p is testimony of how great you've been. However the occasional shot which we cannot even envisioned and he executes the perfection is what makes him the magician.

I'm 66 years old and have been loving the game of pool since I was 10 years old. Although I have played a lot of competition pool in my early years, I only play for fun these days. Recently I got a chance to meet Efren Reyes and to watch him play at a small tournament in Aiken, South Carolina where I was living at the time. He has always impressed me with his skillful play, but I was even more impressed by his winning attitude and his willingness to play against much less skillful adult players and young beginners at this location. What a complete gentleman. I live in America, and now I can proudly say I've met the "best pool player of all time," Efren Reyes.

Get back in to competitive pool with a team!
I am 36 and play competitive pool in a team of 5, 3 games each. We play against lots of players in their 60s and 70s, and son of a bitch are some of them exceptionally good!
I have played against old men whom have noticeable shaking in their hands and arms, but when they take shots they're like a sniper with good white ball placement.
If you're good, get back in to competitive!

It's not saying how good he was butrather what you have to do, as a top player, when you are in front. But you have your narrative. Shit slinging in my book. Maybe you have some warped notion that it somehow elevates Efren. I reckon he'd be embarrassed tbh.

    Always enjoy watching Efrin.
I'm an American in Germany. Played in a tournament when I was 14 in 1971. It was for 14 to 18 year Olds. The first game was against a 16 year old girl. Her whole family was there. I was brought there by Al, the owner of Al's pool hall. He didn't warch. Anyway, I begac with a run of 5 balls. The judge said i was shooting my opponents balls. Of course she won...i later found out that the judge was my opponents uncle...I was now totally focused and beat her easily. She was crying. And her dad came to me and said that i was the first one to beat his daughter.. I didn't say anything after they tried cheating me. Lost in the semi finals. Got a Mosconi pool stick and a trophy. The stick cracked on the first break.
I didn't pursue pool but have some funny stories.
I had a change of attitude beating people, friends. My brother changed me while playing him at backgammon. I learned the game from strategy book about 1977..I would play my brother and win most of the time. After I beat him again he said, "if you beat me again I won't play again. So I would play to his level...
Now years later, while in the army, 1990, my supervisor went to the nco club for happy hour. The free chicken wings weren't ready. He said let's play pool. I was using g the strategy of playing as good as my opponent friend. But...the manager comes to the table slapping 50 cents down and says, "I got winner". I thought, "I've got to beat SFC Williams and get him out of here." I was rusty, hadn't played in many years. But I used a strategy that if I don't have a shot, I will not give him a shot. I won...He went to the bar next to SFC Williams and kept saying "I can beat him,,I can beat him. " I told SFC Williams, "I know he can beat me..But I didn't give him a shot".
Then, in Korea 1993, my replacement, SSG Skritchfield...he was there 4 months before I was to leave. We were on the DMZ and played pool every so often. I only played to his level. He was improving. On a Sunday,,,a week and a half before leaving Korea, we got back to our room after eating supper. He said.."SGT Miller, do you want to play pool? I said no...he looked sad..so I said let's go Play. We went to the recreation center..there was no one there. I'm playing up to his level. Then this hotshot comes in with his own pool stick and case saying "I got winner ". I said to myself. I got to beat SSG Skritchfield and get this guy out. I was totally focused hitting everything. My opponent had a ball next to a corner. He was saving if he didn't have a shot. I had a ball to the rear left of thaat ball. I said to myself..jf I hit the ball with hard right English I will knock my ball in and kick his ball away. I hit like I planned. The guy said, "I think you hit my ball first". I said, "put em back, I will do it again. " I won. He took his cue, going out the back door saying, "I still think you hit my ball first. " SSG Skritchfield said "You spanked him, SGT Miller..You spanked him..I didn't know you could play like that. You were like a robot" I told him that I don't try beating friends. I play to there level..I told him that he's been improving. "

a huge fan, you are an inspiration to me and millions of others i watch and watch , and i know you have personally improved my game . especially in 9 ball. i overheard someone saying what would efren reyes do in this situation, and i called out, nobody can answer that but reyes himself. your beautiful unpredictability is sensational. one side note as a youngster i was an earl strickland fan, it amazed me how , sometimes earl took his losses to you, and appalled me on other occasions .when you announced your retirement after beating earl. he replied that he didnt think you were going to retire but as long as you said , he could say and pay his respect , by raising your hand and saying you were the best that ever was. i started liking earl again after that and pulled for him in subsequent tournaments . but you are and always will be the greatest pool player the world has ever seen. thank you for you endless entertainment .

I started playing pool as a little boy in the 60’s. I don’t remember much about those days but my father lifting me up to take a shot, since I wasn’t tall enough yet to see the balls on the table. Dad was a very good pool player in Chicago and said that I had the “eye” for the game. After my parents divorced my mom moved us to a different neighborhood where my new friends had a pool table in their house. Their older brothers were tournament players in the Chicago pool scene. We played every day on their table for years in the 70’s. My first memories of Efren Reyes was seeing him on TV playing pool. During this time, we all had long hair. Efren had long black hair and smoked cigarettes. He was more like us than most of the American and English pool players, so he was my favorite. Not to mention, he won most of the games he played in. Not many others were doing risky banks or kicks, but Efren did them regularly. I found straight in shots and cuts a little boring and started trying the crazier shots, which I became famous for in our little pool club. (I was copying Efren the whole time) Another part of my style I copied from Efren was his calmness, cool attitude, and focus. I didn’t win every game but I always had the flashiest, most memorable shots. Winning wasn’t as important to me as the cheers for a 3-rail kick that nobody would try. Some, I knew I’d make and others I just luckily made. Even a near miss was more impressive than just shooting boring obvious shots. I became a tournament player and later moved to Hawaii. Here is not as serious as the Chicago pool scene, but Hawaii has a huge Filipino population and they’re all into pool. And very good at it. That’s when I realized that Efren being the best pool player in the world, now makes sense. I had to really polish up my game to beat even the average Filipino player. And they were just like Efren. Humble, quiet, kind, and a great sense of humor about life. So of course I befriended the Filipino players. Partied with them, met their families, learned enough Ilicano to get by and I was accepted as family.
The Irish guy from Chicago hanging out in the Filipino pool scene in Hawaii. I remember when I first started playing around Honolulu, a Filipino player asked who my favorite pool player was. “Efren Reyes. Has been since I was 12 years old.” That was enough to get me some respect in the Filipino community just to start off with.
Moved to Washington after 35 years in Hawaii and played a few bars and tournaments here but I’m getting old and slowing down on the whole thing.
So now I play pool on the internet and watch every single video I can on my pool hero and mentor, Efren “Bata” Reyes.
So cool to hear his voice narrating this one. I’m looking forward to many more.
Peace and aloha to you and yours Mr. Reyes, from Seattle. 🤙🏼
Edit: Just liked and subscribed. 🤙🏼

Additionally, it is simply objectively true that, during Davis' prime, he did 'destroy' his opponents and was a dominant world Snooker Champion. He does not state this out of arrogance, it is simply what occurred. Immature content like this which seeks to bash an opposing sport or sportsmen is extremely disappointing to see. One should be humble enough to understand that, although similar, the two sports are different practices and great players for either sport are to be respected.

I thought snooker is a much harder game? This should be cake walk for Steve right? It's like the best SAS man in a shooting competition against the best US Marine... surely the former wins? Maybe or maybe not.
Then it would also be unfair for Efren if he has not spent much of his life playing that "superior" sport, it's like asking Ricky Hatton to fight Buakaw in a Muay Thai match... just exaggerating, but you get the point.

Efren is a great player, but I don't know what the hate on Steve is for in this video.
    Steve Davis:
    Snooker World Champion: 6 times (1981, 1983, 1984, 1987, 1988, 1989)
    UK Championship: 6 times
    Masters: 3 times
Triple Crown Titles: 15 in total
World Number 1: Held the top ranking for 7 consecutive seasons
Maximum Break: First player to make an officially recognized maximum break in professional competition
    Efren Reyes:
    WPA World Nine-ball Champion: 1 time (1999)
    WPA World Eight-ball Champion: 1 time (2004)
    U.S. Open Nine-ball Championship: 1 time (1994)
    Derby City Classic: 13 times
World Cup of Pool: 2 times (2006, 2009)
Steve Davis net worth $33m - Efrin $3m.
Its like boxers and MMA fighters - Boxers like to fight a MMA fighter, but only under their rules. Efren at snooker vs Davis Hendry or Ronnie - aint ending 9-5
Steve Davis was more successful within a more technically demanding game, Efren Reyes's impact and skill in pool are legendary. If forced to pick, I would lean towards Steve Davis for his extensive achievements in a more demanding sport.

I've been playing pool since the age of 7 years old. Never thought of professional people, though I have met a few, not the table but observation. I perhaps would have become a pool player professional. Alcohol took over my younger years in my life. Involved in a horrific automotive car crash. 30 years ago was the last time I drank any alcohol. Pool playing became rare. One night, my youngest invited me to a pool tournament.
My son and I ended up the last two players. I could say I let my son win.. lol
I didn't he beat me fare and squeeze. Just last year, to my surprise. He bought me a pool table. I started watching UA-cam learned a lot about the game. And that's where I saw the greatest player I've ever seen. It was said that there will never be a greater player than Efran Bata Reyes in the next 100 years. My asked me if I believe that. I am honestly replied by say, now if I was asked the questions in my younger days. I say, I truly beg the differ. I answered yes I do believe that. This man is the greatest.
