Am I the only one that doesn't think 4.5 hours screen on time is short? I suppose compared to other 2018 phones it's a bit underwhelming, which is kinda disappointing, but I don't think I've ever gotten near that number on any phone I've owned. Hell, my 3 y/o Nexus 6P is at 84% after only 12 mins of screen on time, lol
Yeah no offense, but 4.5 total hours of SOT is awful, esp in this day and age. I think what killed his Pixel 3XL battery in this video was that he had the screen at max brightness for a while, and I'm guessing he left GPS on after he left his car. I just got a Pixel XL (original) a month ago, and I'm averaging 8 hrs SOT running Pie with Nova as my launcher. It hit a "personal best" of 10 hours the other day ! Granted that was an atypical day (no LTE except for a phone call, no camera use nor GPS or Bluetooth). But so far I'm thrilled that a 2016 phone can consistently get such good battery life running current software. It's really sold me on the benefits of stock Android. I don't think I *ever* got 9-10 hrs SOT on my Samsung Note 5; even 7-8 was not typical, certainly not as it started to age. Average now is 4-6 hrs SOT if I'm lucky; that's why I bought the Pixel. Sounds like you may need a new phone too, amigo. 😁
Oh, I definitely know I need a new phone (my 3 XL is suppose to arrive tomorrow). But idk, I guess considering my 6P has never really gotten me much more than 2 hours SOT (even when brand new), 4.5 hours seems perfectly fine and like it'll easily get me through a day. The idea of a multi-day phone isn't really important to me since I can just top it off every night anyway. It's also important to remember that all of this varies depending on how you use your phone ... a phone that is a 3 hours SOT phone for one person may be 6 hours SOT for someone else. It sounds like you use your phone in a way that doesn't use up much extra power, that's not reality for everyone. Not to mention I've never heard of anyone getting 8-10 hours SOT on any phone (even friends with the Note 9 say they're maxing out at like 6.5 on a good day and usually are more around 5).
You know. I accept the notch because of the functionality of it. I came with a pretty good deal for this phone and I love it so much. The notch isn't a probem for me in matter of fact I like my icons being display at the very top edge of the screen. It's really an amazing phone. I'm blown away , I never had the chance to have a phone of this quality
I'm sorry but the Note 9 has a bigger battery life, no notch, headphone jack and you can find it at less than 700 now... Pixel 3 is a disappointment to me compared to the Pixel 2
Sadly the display only gets to 405 nits on max brightness and the battery life looks like shit. Seriously just 4.5 hours of screen on time? OnePlus 6T is going to crush this thing in price and battery life.
I agree with Mr_Chukes, what it lacks in certain areas it more than makes up for in others. While the 6T is cool, it definitely doesn't match the pixel in the scope of real world uses.
@@J.0.E. User experience and software is arguably right up there with the Pixel if not better. OnePlus phones don't slow down at all. Meanwhile there's been numerous complaints of that happening with the Pixel 2. They're equal with customer service too, both require you to ship your device out for repair if you want it repaired by them. Google's customer service sucks too, they literally read straight from a script. Both pale in comparison to Apple's service, but at least One plus isn't charging Apple esque prices like Google is. And the only thing I've noticed the pixel is better at is portrait mode. Regular photos look just as good in almost every circumstance, and OP6 doesn't exhibit black crush like the pixel does. Google isn't doing enough to justify their high prices.
@@myNEONCITY naw the pixel is smoother than the OnePlus 6 and customer service is horrible at OnePlus. You have to send hella emails before you can even get a call. Google has 24/7 customer service through the phone, you can even message them from your phone or have them call you. Plus google will send you a device before you send yours. You just have to out a hold on a car.

Great video and actually someone using this phone outside instead of in a studio with WiFi. That camera is legit and the software seems solid. The deep notch, weak battery, and terrible mic are minor flaws but not deal breakers. Great year overall for smartphones...iPhone Max and Note 9 owner here and happy.

Could have sworn this was up yesterday and I missed it
Same
It was. This is a re-upload for some reason
This was the first day in the life video I saw, and I really liked it, I have a so and watched that one and you got a new subscriber now.
The audio is Garbage I like iPhone and Samsung better. Don't like the pixel but I enjoy a day in the life keep up the creative work 👍🏾
That should get fixed in a software update, looks like Pixel is using the wrong microphone again
Sou Illuminat I like the camera I've been using Android phone for years now I'm holding off on cellphone for the rest of the year.
Dude, I appreciate these videos so much! So helpful... continue the great work!
What is the game Jud plays very briefly around 14:39?
I believe its Dragalia lost by Nintendo
Man love the way of your real day in life videos... Great work!!! 👍👍👍
Can you make a short update about it after "adaptive battery" gets used to your behavior and let us know if the battery improves? @uravgconsumer
All of your videos are always the best....the best thing is your explanation and the background setup!..keep it up as u always do😂
Thanks for the review. Disappointed about the speaker, mic and the brightness of the screen. Guess not going to get this after all.
Batten Ramen is legit! Glad to see you feature the restaurant! Great review of the Pixel 3XL as well!
Love from pakistan 💚💚
Feel like I have seen an useful review after a very long tome. Keep up the good work brother.
I'm sorry but the Note 9 has a bigger battery life, no notch, headphone jack and you can find it at less than 700 now... Pixel 3 is a disappointment to me compared to the Pixel 2
TheOldMan 59 unfortunately the camera is weak and good luck getting P
Samsung bloaty
I’m sorry but the Pixel 3 has the better camera. Better software and it’s not infested with blowtation.
@@rickjason215 yeah it's true that you spend 100% of the time on camera mode when using your phone...
@@theoldman5924 name checks out
I am debating on getting the Google Pixel 3 XL would you recommend this phone? The battery is iffy for me because I use my phone quite often.
Sadly the display only gets to 405 nits on max brightness and the battery life looks like shit. Seriously just 4.5 hours of screen on time? OnePlus 6T is going to crush this thing in price and battery life.
Not in user experience, camera, customer service, or software.
@@myNEONCITY Also the screen on the pixels are better than the ones on the OnePlus.
love the day in the life review format - super hyped for the on screen calling feature
*Pixel 3 XL - The big Notch in the life review*
Just kidding other than that Notch I appreciate everything pixel has done in this phone with outstanding Cameras🔥❤️
*Ps-you can Checkout my channel and it's free and I really appreciate it,thank you* 😊
Really dope video! Hope this video gets it's well deserved millions of views
Is it just me or is it that the pixel 3xl has a really bad microphone?

Just met your channel, and I think I've found great content! Really nice video!
How sad...is this a phone review or camera review. Companies nowadays have nothing left to do on a phone so they just focus on camera to make you feel like you have to have it.
Battery will get better over time bc of Google's battery optimization
Convenient excuse
@@metaitachi He's right. It took sometime but I'm getting better battery life than I did when I first got my 2 XL.
Takes for understanding give the phone a chance too
I'm really liking your real day in a life series. Good work!
camera is tight
been waiting for this video yay!
Trying to enjoy the video but all I can see is that notch
I love your day in the life videos. It was pretty alarming to see such battery drain early in the video. I thought there was no way you would make 6PM.
Uuuh .... That notch just look at me throughout the video
One of the best review of the Pixel 3 XL so far. Subscribed!
So the notch is real, everyone just everyone follows what apple does. Google! It isn't expected from u
They also made fun of removing the headphone jack and then a year later did the exact same thing on the pixel 2
@@metallicat61003 yeah that was bad lol
@@metallicat61003 true, same with the finger print sensor.
Great video man! I think you are one of the last tech UA-camrs who tries to honestly give an unbiased opinion.
