+futurefilmmaker 39480 I liked it. I just need the missing link that connects it to Alien. Thats what left me wondering. That said, I really did enjoy it as a Sci-fi movie.
After watching a lot of your Theological reviews I thought you might find it interesting what the original script said as to why the Engineers flipped on us. The script said that the human race became so bad, evil and a disappointment to the Engineers that they sent an emissary to Earth. 2000 years ago. Yes, they are suggesting that Jesus was an Engineer and when the humans who he came to set back on track crucified him; the Engineer race knew we were beyond redemption and set plans in motion to destroy us as seen in Prometheus. It's generally still believed that this is what happens in the film but after the rewrite by Damon Lindeloff he kept that part secret for revelation in the sequels. Well now since he was not part of Covenant and it had a new writer , who knows what is really going on.
I didn't mind the nods to Alien in this and it's clear that the squid baby/starfish that infected one of the engineers was clearly another kind of face hugger that created another breed of xenomorph so that was interesting and was one of the few parts where I could see the film allowing me to piece together an explanation for myself.
Out of all the movies in the Alien franchise, "Prometheus" is the one that I'm the most mixed on. For the first hour or so, I was very invested in the premise, the cast, and the mission that drove them. Also loved the cinematography. Liked David and out of everyone, I wanted to know more about him and his story. That opening sequence with him alone on the ship has got to be one of the most compelling scenes in this movie.
My issue with Prometheus is that it felt anti climatic and the storytelling came off disjointed. Instead of trying SO hard to distance itself from Alien, it should have kept those threads just tone them down a little. The characters are really dumb, not to mention the reveal that Wetland is alive just didn't hit the way I think they intended it to.
I didn’t really have the same burning issues with the things you guys did. I picked up on most of them, especially after a second viewing. Your questions are quite common though. You guys should check out some of the “Explaining Prometheus” videos on UA-cam, especially Chris Stuckman’s. The clues are there, but some are not obvious. Great discussion guys, thanks.
But the thing that was confused me about this movie where is the connection to alien this movie was suppose to be the origins of where the aliens came from and how the eggs were created
I finally saw this movie today with my mom and I did enjoy it but it does has its flaws though and I will get into it soon and Elizabeth Shaw played by my girl Noomi Repace she did a great job for this role and she was so awesome as the main lead character in this film and she is so badass as this character too and she is so incredibly sexy as hell bro and she is so gorgeous and I’m a fan of her now love her to death man and David played by Michael Fassbender he did a great job too and he was so awesome as a Android for this movie role tho and it was nice to see him in this movie too and Peter Weyland played by Guy Pearce he did a good job but he was barley in this movie tho but he still did a good job when he was on screen though and Janek played by Idris Elba he did a great job and he was so awesome for this movie and it was good to see to him in this movie tho and Charlie Holloway played by Logan Marshall Green he did a good job but he was barely in this movie tho and sucks his character dies in this movie and I was hoping he would survived for this role but he still did a good job when he was on screen tho and Last Engineer played by Ian Whyte he did a great job as the main villain role for this movie and he was badass as this character role and he was so awesome for this role but he was barley in this movie tho and he is kinda of wasted in this film and I wanted to see more of his character in this movie too but he still did a good job when he was on screen tho and finally Meredith Vickers played by my other girl Charlie Theron she did a good job too and she was so awesome for this role and she is so badass for this character too and she is so incredible sexy as hell bro and she is so gorgeous too and I’m a huge fan of her now love her to death man and can’t believe it’s been 12 years now since this movie came out and that’s insane it’s been that many decades ago and I was a senior in high school when this movie came out and I was 17 years old at the time when this movie was released in theaters and I sure do missed those good old days back then and time sure does flies in the movie world that’s for damn sure Durbania bro and overall I’m gonna give Prometheus (2012) a 8.5/10 stars I really did enjoyed this movie but could of been little bit better if it had some nudity for a change and have the movie be little bit longer though and didn’t not like the ending that much either but that’s just me though in my opinions and thoughts on this movie Durbania bruh
Then we get into the second half and the film starts to fall apart and where the questions come in. Like why did David infect the captain with the black goo? Was he just curious and wanted to see what it would do, or did he already know and just not liked him based on how he saw him as only a machine? Why is Shaw, going to engineer's planet despite knowing that one of them has already tried to exterminate them? Wouldn't it be more productive to go back to earth and warn the scientific community and try to prepare for another expedition? etc.
I loved Prometheus. Don't really understand the hatred towards it.

turned out really good man. can't wait for alien Covenant
Cody Leach yeah I agree
Hell yes 🙌 bro 😎 I agreed 👍🏻 with you on that one too lol 😂

I agree as a stand alone movie it was pretty good. As an Alien prequel its misses the mark. Great review and bring on Alien Covenant!
+Ritch Leach I truly hope Alien Covenant fills the gaps & answers the questions Prometheus raised. Because that would make Prometheus even better!

Matthew Buck the Film Brain did a review on why this film is bad. I agree with him. It is not a good movie.
It actually makes the Xenomorphs scarier when you don’t know where they come from, when you assume it’s just natural evolution. #darwinism 😁

Hey Cody you have the same Alien keychain the one I have too lol 😂 bro 😎
I liked promeathus it was pretty good
But as a alien fan it didn’t really explain that much where the aliens really came from in my opinion
It’s a bit under rated but still a good movie and sets up a good story of where the aliens come from

At first I liked the movie. After a while I hated the movie. The movie has a great look but the flaws stick out more than the strengths.
I couldn't agree more with you guys.
